Could you make a video about what one goes to grad school to become a librarian is for? Like, what kinds of things do you study there? Do all librarians go to grad school? What university's have programs for this? Etc. Btw you're awesome and have cute ears
WELLL i was actually thinking about doing two videos, so I'll bounce them off you and see what you think: First one, why do people go to grad school to be librarians for, do all librarians go to grad school, etc... and then the second one, I was thinking about actually going through the list of courses I took and giving a "10 seconds or less" summary about them to give y'all an idea of what a person CAN study. Lots of good new things! Very cool and exciting. While you were doing your variant of the fairly standard Patreon pitch common to RU-vid EDU - the educational content will always be free, for everyone, forever, but we could use the help from anyone in a position to give it - it occurred to me just how tightly that parallels libraries themselves. Unintentionally fitting, that.

Congrats on presenting at the ALA Conference! I have been trying to talk my library into using their RU-vid channel for our most recent campaign (and then beyond).
This is all super exciting stuff! Can't donate to Patreon right now but definitely will once I graduate next May and get a library job of my own (fingers crossed).

I am hoping to start making videos about my own experience in library school, but it will be much less educational and a lot more about my personal experience and what I'm learning, etc. I haven't decided yet what form this will take, but I'm excited to find out! I might be wanting to pick your brain about more educational RU-vid stuff in the future. I'm working as a research assistant with a professor who is intrigued by the idea of making RU-vid content about public libraries, but isn't sure what exactly yet. You were the first person I thought of!

I think so, yeah -- BC has treated me really well in terms professional connections made and opportunities that have presented themselves... Also, my partner is pretty great and we'll be moving in together shortly, so... Yeah. Come visit! (I'll be coming back down to CA in December though for a couple weeks, so :D)

For my own sanity, would you do a video on not all library staff members are librarians?!? This is my biggest pet peeve but I do understand people just don't know the variety of roles at your standard public library.
