Chad is a success because he did'nt use what had happened to him as a crutch... You CAN get through, and be a success in life, and go beyond hard times... He is truly an inspiration to work hard, and it WILL pay off!

People who hate Nickelback should rather spend their time on other stuff rather than watching and writing stupid comments on their vids.

When he was younger, he and some friends were on a cliff overlooking a river, I think it was and they were all getting stoned on mushrooms and a girl who wasn't a strong swimmer I guess got so stoned that she decided to jump into the water and well, being a weak swimmer, she got into trouble pretty quick and Chad jumped in and saved her. Apparently she gave him some ring after that. I THINK but I'm not 100% sure that her name is Karen. And that is where Leader Of Men came from.

I'm a musician, and I teach guitar full time. (Not that it matters) but even though Nickelback's music isn't for me... I still respect them. They are out there touring, working hard, and making big money. All the haters are just jealous.

I admit that when 'HYRM' debuted as a single, I thought NB was riding the grunge train, but Chad's range has either improved tremendously - or he was just holding back. Vedder, to assess without insulting, is a low baritone that stays where he knows he can sing with some power. What turned me off to Pearl Jam was the way he would use that vibrato to sustain longer notes. Timing was Vedder's ally - as low growlers (Scott Stapp, Weiland) became the thing in the 90s.

First of all, this is my channel so it is my right to block anyone spewing forth hate. Second of all, I know not everyone is going to like Nickelback nor do I expect them to. What is childish is the hate. THAT is what I CANNOT and will NOT tolerate. As of yet, I haven't seen a single reasonable discussion. A reasonable discussion would be a mature discussion in which the participants respect each other and each other's opinion. Spewing hate and wishing bad things upon someone is not reasonable.

And YES - stereotypically and statistically it is the father who leaves or abandons or is forcefully ostracized. It happens with mothers, but to a much smaller degree. So yeah, I can relate.

Some of my students want to learn Justin Bieber, Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus....ect... well hey... if that is what they like, then it is what it is...as long as it inspires them to practice I will teach them. Students get bored from reading music all the time in a book...you have to teach them what THEY like sometimes. Everybody is a critic on YT. They are just a bunch of suckers...brush them off. And remember they wouldn't say that to your face.

Yeah and I'm another one that agrees with Paul2swiss. I am a lover of Slipknot, Disturbed, Rise Against, Papa Roach all the way through to like Rihanna and Santana for heaven sakes! Quite an array of taste and yet loving NB doesn't make me a middleaged dad (as a journalist once quoted about NB's music listeners) nor does it make me a loser so screw all those sad little haters who aren't into this music. I mean, I'm into everything - why can't more people be like that OR at least respect it?

Maybe. Having a dad that leaves when you're born is different than having a dad leave when you're 5 or 10 y.o. Blind people don't know what they're missing if they're born blind. People who become blind after an accident will be impacted much stronger. Having a mom could be overrated too, lol. My dad never paid child support. We never asked him to. All my mom asked was that he spend time with me. He didn't, even when I got very sick. That's what matters.

@amzingjourney ...(part2) One of my students (who I have had for years) When he was younger wanted to learn his first song...which was by Nickelback. Even though I can't stand them, I did it. It inspired him to learn more. After a few years...I taught him classical, bossa nova, rhumba, and a little flamenco (which is VERY hard) Man... when I first started, all I wanted to play was Nirvana, and PanterA.

@Chadlove1174 @Suesbob I was lucky enough to catch the NB show last weekend. Through a friend of a friend, we met one of their security guys. Great guy! He actually got us in to meet the band! The band & venue security had all been shown this chicks pic & were checking out everyone! For the 30 secs when we met the band, we had 2 give security our purses, cameras, drinks etc. We were 2 girls surrounded by 4 huge security dudes just for a picture. It was nuts but they are very well protected!
