Chad Johnson is a poster child for redemption. He handled his self very well in this interview. He admits he has a problem and is getting help for it. People, this is what adults suppose to do.
@@mitchellpaulson7837 yeah but Stephen knew damn well what was coming, i bought that shit back then but seeing what they run with now he was all for it.
It was total BS. I hate when reporters do this crap. Like skip sayin "you embarrassed me and let me down when i kept saying you were great!" F U skip lol all skip n smith do is talk n dont really have a clue what they're actually talkin about
Chad was a top tier receiver like T.O. He was jst being humble and showing respect to his long time friend T.O. Chad Johnson is one of the greatest WRs of his era
These two clowns skip and Steven tried they very best to get a bad reaction out of chad lol..chad is one cool smooth talker and always tells it like it is 😂
That's not a fact. This is a fact. Ochocinco was extremely productive playing in a tough division while playing a balanced offense and was a perenial pro bowler.
@@timekiller6163 don't forget Torry Holt and Isaac Bruce in that era. And I'm not a rams fan. Lol actually wasn't s fan of them at all but respect is respect
Chad Johnson is such a real dude 💯 came on the show and even with film grilling him from the jump, he kept it 100, took it all on the chin, and no excuses for his actions. I love it. Then he actually made major changes and grew from this experience 👌🏾💯
They couldn’t handle that he wasn’t coming in there denying his actions, they wanted him to beg for “their” forgiveness, they expected him to make excuses.
chad was hurt but after watching the whole interview I see why he was mad. He was expecting to quickly talk about the incident and then do what everybody else does when they come on the show and thats debate about sports. Not to spend the entire hour talking about him lossing a step
Lol Chad was going off on the slick on all of them.. He was laughing saying he gonna come across that table but we know he was dead serious 😂 I like how they all wasn't gonna let Chad punk them on they own show. Chad tried tho
really was painful to watch... how can grown men handle this man in this manner. crucifying him for their own personal ratings and ego/career boost, damn shame.
They were trying to get Chad back in the league, there were trying to get him to lobby for himself for teams because the league had given up on him, on it never changed.
@@Trillin-db2zr you're right but this and him never signing to another team set him straight. Unlike a lot of guys in his position it really seems like he learned from his experience.
@@deeznutz8320 Completely different situations... you’re taking it too far. One is dead & the other changed her life around. He made his bed & laid in it. Everyone makes mistakes. Do we hate Chris brown? Snoop? No. I would rather be in Chad situation any day of the week before I become R Kelly😂
I think everybody needs to see this. I'm from Cincinnati and have and hung out with Chad Johnson before and after the "Ochocinco" era. I'm not surprised he handled himself in this type of manner because this is who is he is a person, as a man. Our city gave him the 🔑 and he was just an average guy. He had the world at his feet and you couldn't even tell. Chad has always been brutally honest and a hall of famer in my eyes.
They wanted to hear him slander some people, he carried himself with grace. I don't understand people dont consider him as HOF, was he trouble off the field during his Cincinnati era?
i have seen this interview before, and after watching again, it really disturbs me the way skip and stephen A did chad, this WHOLE interview they were tryin to break him DOWN, it really is sad the way these so called expert sports analyst are a pawn for these networks to tear ppl down
I grew up in cincy. Chad was my first favorite player. I have jerseys, and autographs, and cards. You name it. I was in love with him. I hope he knows how much he brought to this city and organization. Everyone outside of our fanbase looks at him as a goofball and a fun loving guy, and he is, but here he is an absolute legend. Hearing him say he would stay with the Bengals if he could do it all over again almost brought me to tears. Literally. It sucks that everything ended the way it did. I wish he could have worked it out with the Bengals because he meant everything to us. Still my all time favorite.
really was painful to watch... how can grown men handle this man in this manner. crucifying him for their own personal ratings and ego/career boost, damn shame.
Man everyone didn't let this man breathe in this interview. Kept going back on domestic violence. I get they're trying to get to him and stuff but don't make the man this uncomfortable. He clearly doesn't wanna talk about it. Don't treat him like paparazzi would. It's a tv show...
Never cared for Chad Johnson, but in this interview I felt bad for him. I'm embarrassed for Stephen A. Smith and Skip Bayless. The way they conducted this "interview" is disgusting and unprofessional.
Chad got it twisted, and thought he was bigger than life, and untouchable. It was time for him to be brought down a couple notches, and be humbled. But hell, it's no one's job to judge him. He's human, and as long as he learned from this, and moves on, he'll be ok. Whether he plays football or not. That mistake might have cost him his career, something, HE, has to live with. And be sorry not just for the cameras, or to get his job back. Cuz that may, or may not, ever happen. GOD bless him, and his healing process.
sergio hernandez are you serious a women beater and Chad Johnson head butted her in front of her daughter so now you trying to protect a women beater and Chad Johnson doesn't deserve a second chance in the NFL he's done
sergio hernandez poor chad???? Come on dude. He hammered her with a head butt infront of her daughter??? Traumatize a kid who has know say in the situation. Bye bye Chad go to the Arena or CFL. Da done done
How is a man beating a woman not his fault? Unless his life was in danger or if he was really getting hurt, and he beats a woman, it is his fault. Hell, I try my best not to hit guys. Only times I fought and "hit" someone is when I sense danger. A guy punches me, I'll fight back. If a girl punches me and actually hurts me, I'll fight back to. But Chad, who I am still a fan of, straight up headbutted her. However, I do disagree with SAS when he says there is NEVER an excuse to put your hand on a woman. There is and it is the same excuse to putting your hands on a man.
That's the question though. People don't usually beat others up unless they can beat them up. If a fraile 115 point man mushes you in the face you might punish him. If Mike Tyson comes up and mushes you in the face you'd ask why. You shouldn't beat on anyone that you already know you can beat down lol. Some women will try to get you to hit them and it's not hitting them that the men mean to do. It's getting them to leave them alone that they're trying to do. It's a mental thing about losing control.
Skibone21 If people don't hit those who can beat them, why do so many women hit men? Men don't hit those who are stronger than them because they know there will be no sympathy for them. Women hit men all the time because they know the can play the victim and even get a huge payday out of it. If men had the same upside, they too, would hit those who are stronger than them. Case and point...regular Joe's antagonize and even hit celebrities all the time....even those who are stronger than them. They do that because they know there could be a nice check at the end of the line.
We're basically saying the same thing. I'm only saying that if someone is antagonized by someone of lesser strength/and or skill they will be more willing to talk about it instead of exerting force. My exact words were beat up not hit. Sure people of lesser strength will hit people. But they're not necessarily beating them up. If i went up to Zeke today and just straight stole on him he' d probably punish me. If Mike Tyson did it he'd ask why he did it and want to talk it out.
Chad represented himself well.. he spoke clearly an he was understood... but it was clear steven n skip, didnt expect chad to defend an answer their questions.. so they kept on about what nay sayers are saying.. one thing steve n skip couldnt realise, that he played the game! An he truely knows whats happens within the football locker rm an field. He really couldve went in! But he reframed himself.. either way was a very good interview.
When a man owns his mistakes and tells you, no matter how much you try there’s nothing you can do to bring him down They tried but they lost and frustrated the hell out of them
They riding Chad so hard ....Chad my brother u did great God bless u and dam what they say like u said its family first everyone makes them same mistakes even if they don't tell
Chad is well spoken and very humble...he knows he wasn't the best and gives respect to players with better stats....and he said he would be second if he needs too.
I Remember watching this live, but now as I watch it again as I’m older this interview banned him from the NFL they clearly went for his throat without thinking they might be taking bread out his mouth by asking certain questions that could deter a team disappointment and a media clout move
I feel like personal things should stay off ESPN. Not anyone's business but his and his wife and their families and friends. not skips business or Stephen As or caris or viewers
Mannnnnn!!!!! Chad was getting it from all 3 sides. They literally brought him here to railroad him. Instead, they got seasoned and cooked!!! The only silver lining is that we know CC and Skip got theirs from SAS soon after this. And, SAS is getting his now.
Its so annoying how quick Skip and Steph will discredit players whole career based on there mistakes. They act like they have all this evidence but their "EVIDENCE" is one play they talked to one time. Its insulting how they drag Chad and TO threw the mud.
Love how he took responsibility even though Skip and Steven A tried to throw him off. Carrie was unbiased, and stayed the course, and didn’t try to crucify him.
This interview is what killed off Chads second chance or opportunity to re-enter the NFL….. and actually kinda seems like they had been decided that before the interview. So, yeah this interview was most definitely a set up.
No cap.. for a Florida cat Ocho does speak very articulate and was very strong in speaking out and taking responsibility for his actions..salute big homie..🙏🏿🙏🏿💯
I had to recheck the date when she said “Yes the Lakers lost to the Wizards... and Lebron played” 😂 Lakers just lost to my Wizards by 3 about 2 days ago
Chad was a dam fool to let skip and Stephen A undress him like that..they dont undress white athletes like that..why haven't first take interview Chad Wheeler, he beat the hell out of his girlfriend and no one is talking about that
def among the top 10 most hilarious interview/debate ever. (excluding the domestic violence discussion): "... Is there any market that you'd like to avoid?" "Wherever I am... I'll be OPEN" - Chad Ochocinco
I agree. I wouldn't have discussed what happened with his wife. Though he was wrong, I still think it's none of anyone's business to question him in that manner other than the legal authorities
damn chad fucked himself up. He got caught up in life and it really turned on him. He should have talked to Deion Sanders cuz Deion is smart and knows how to deal with these things.
