I don't think he's actually upset I think that's all part of the gag. Otherwise why would they have done the stuff on Fallon and the charity stuff together?
Every world class musician gets asked about his artistery but he gets asked about s.o. else ..., totally understand him. If you get the same joke told for now 20 years ....
I was a working drummer for ten years in multiple bands with back problems. Moving and setting up my own drums 4 times a day for a show killed me and lead to my opiate addictions just so I could get through a show. I grew up playing guitar since I was 9. I never touched a drumkit till I was 20. I loved playing drums. But everyone needs a drummer. It's kind of like owning a pickup truck. Everybody is going to call you to help them move.
I've been playing drums for 19 years, started getting seizures around 20 years old and my drivers license was taken away, haven't been allowed to drive for 11 years and wish I could lug my drums to gigs. Cabs are so expensive, I don't make any money from gigging it's just for fun but I can't do it often.
Me- being a fan of RHCP since the early 90's and a Will Ferrell fan since the early 00's. Never put the similarities together until the RHCP song By The Way came out and I remember seeing the video for the first time and there's a part at the end of the video where Chad Smith's getting into a cab. I was like "Holy crap! Will Ferrell is in this video! How cool!" Then I realized it was Chad😆 After that, I always wondered if anyone ever thought the same thing about them looking so much alike. Then a few years ago I was watching Jimmy Fallon and seen both of them together doing a drum off. Yep, guess I wasn't the only one thinking it. Loved it!
It’s either on the off the map tour DVD or on the greatest hits disc, but I remember there was a behind the scenes documentary where all of the other chili peppers are talking about meditating and drinking some whacky vegetable shake crap before they go on stage, and it just cuts to Chad and he says ‘I just smoke a bunch of cigarettes and drink a few beers and I’m ready to go’. That’s always summed him up.
In an episode of Aqua teen hunger force, the guys got to go backstage with Chickenfoot (Sammy Hagar, Michael Anthony, Joe Satriani, and Chad Smith). In the episode Chad was wearing a t shirt that said "I am not Will Ferrell!" Great unspoken joke.
I was just on the RHCP wiki page. It says Anthony played guitar from 1991 to 1998. I found it funny because I'm assuming they are talking about when Anthony would pretend to play onstage. But clearly he's never played.
johnkiedis27 johnkiedis27 I’ve actually only ever seen him holding a guitar a very small number of times. He definitely can’t play and never did in the studio.
I just have to say i been a peppers fan since h.s. i am 43 now. And chad smith has been one of my favorite drummers for years. Many friends have known this. And back then. About 2000ish. Omg ny friends would tell me all the time. "He looks like will ferrell" i would get so mad lol then all sudden few years later its all over. I was like DAAAAMMIIT! hahahha
People saying Chad Smith Looks like Ferrell/Tom Waits I agree but anybody getting some Keith Richards' vibes? The eyes and the hat definitely add to it.
Why does chad Smith gets mad? I don't know why he gets annoyed..hes already famous is not like wiil Ferrell is using him to profit off him so i really don't see it!!
+Nick Mccartan I'd rather have him do acid house records like his last couple solo records, than be in a turd of a band like RHCP - any fucking day of the week.
4 real4real....He gave him a Dixiecup...filled with a killer sppedball that took the man out...chex out what River's friend William Richert said about it....FB.....
As far as I'm concerned, the blood, sugar, sex and magik has left the band. Why? Because 3/4 or the are over 50! Some bands last 4 years, these guys have seen 4 decades. The band could have ended, but thanks to Josh Kilinghoffer, millions of teenagers who would've been to young to see them back in 08, can now see their heroes. And remember, there's at least one person out there who believes Josh is the best guitar player of all time. I think what they're doing is inspiring young people to pick up an instrument. Also, financially they can sponsor music programmes and charities.
Tell me about the day Sam made you laugh Never has a guy who looks and sounds like he's a masturbation addict with a passion for reading phonebooks, had so much succes on radio.
Hands-down, the most low substance interview ever conducted. You have a percussion GOD in front of you, and you spend the whole time talking to him about Will Ferrell, shopping and being naked??? What a joke!!! Truly disappointing.
Mr.SmithGNR Smith u skipped a step, step 4 should be dig hole or else you could be out there all night and never know who might show up next thing you know your digging two holes.
Chad says they never intentionally wrote a song to try and repeat the previous success of a song, but I'm fairly certain the song "My Friends" was written to capitalize on the huge hit that was "Under the Bridge". Nothin wrong with that, just saying.
Frank John I agree. They are my all time favorite band. Theres very few songs they did that I didnt like. The main one that comes to mind is "Throw Away Your Television"
RHCP is just not the same without Hilel. John is a great guitar player but Flea, Chad and Anthony have a thing that is so tight and unique, it doesn't matter who plays guitar.
