When you start to talk about ratio, my ADHD kicked in. LOL So with a cup of coffee, I sat there and took the ratio lesson challenge and paid attention! LOL!! I love this video, very understanding. Thank you so much!
Thanks for the great tutorial. I needed a review because I will be helping a teacher at my granddaughter's school this afternoon. They will be teaching chain maille to young children. I can't wait to pass this craft on.
Thanks for this tutorial. I make my own rings using different size mandrels and a tool so I picked up a metric ruler at Michael's this weekend so I can see the exact measurements. This is an awesome video for me. I want to start making chain maille jewelry so I'll keep watching your other videos.
Hi Maria, good for you, making your own jump rings -- that is the best way to get the rings you need, when you need them! I hope you have fun maille-ing!
I loved this video. This was very informative and I'm so happy I found it. Chain mail in general has always fascinated me and I'm amazed at all the patterns for jewelry that are out there. Thank you for the video. Also, your nails are beautiful!
Ive started to learn chainmail with quite small inner diameter rings and the rings just aren’t sitting properly after i pick them up and place them back down again, is this because they aren’t heavy enough? Or am i doing something wrong?
Thanks for the great tutorial, I am going to be getting into making chain maille jewelry and armor and this video has helped me understand a lot. The only thing I am still confused about is the aspect ratio. I understand how to figure it out, but I don't know why we are going to need to know it (probably because I don't know that term.) Can you explain that a little more please?
Hi Anna, you will definitely need to know more about aspect ratio (AR) if you will be doing much chain maille. The AR of a jump ring determines what kind of weave you can make with it. I have a write-up of the whole subject (along with a free e-book) on my website: www.beadedjewelrydiva.com/tutorials/chain-maille-and-jump-rings/
Hi Jaqueline, that's Tool Magic that is on my pliers. :) I used to get it on Amazon, but lately I've only been able to find it at Joann (Michaels might have it too, but I haven't checked there). Thanks for asking and have a great day!
@@beadedjewelrydiva Thank you so much for your help . I have only just started with wire jewellery as a way of keeping my mind occupied & focused following my early onset of dementia so, any tips are so welcome. Just found your channel & find it helpful & interesting. Thanks again. Hope you, your family & friends are safe & well x x
I GREATLY APPRECIATE every video. There are NO good ENGLISH SPEAKING CHAINMAILLE JEWELRY tutorials out the in you tube land. I speed hours a day doing this and so love it but get frustrated when I can not figure out a weave or understand why I've had to buy 3 or more units before I can figure out how to find the correct fit. please keep posting
Hi! I prefer Weave Got Maille when I buy my rings. You can find them on Amazon: amzn.to/3jMY2pr or you can go to their website: weavegotmaille.com/ Hope this helps!
In the very beginning three is a black and bronze bracelet on the very bottom. What is the weave for the one called? And is there a tutorial?! I love it!!
Hi J Renee, that is a variation on a half-helm that I came up with. The pattern is in my ebook tutorial on etsy: www.etsy.com/shop/tasminann Glad you like it!
+Rena Rouchon I originally learned using some DVDs done by Spider at www.spiderchain.com And then of course I used books as well. Spider's videos helped me learn the basics, and then I went from there. :)
Hi Lou, I use Tool Magic on my pliers. I have a video on how I use it (and how I coat my tools). ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UCoU5fKM2to.html Hope you find it helpful! :)
