Enjoying your videos! I made a 2000 LED array where the X axis was the LED strips and self adhesive copper tape (like for lead glass work) was the Y axis. The power had to be split up for 3 sections to handle all the current. My white balance is off because I didn't use better LEDs but I correct for that in Photoshop. BTW I moved from Virginia to Oregon and am down the CNC path. Thanks for sharing.

You should consider EMT for projects like this. You'd need to paint them, but they can be bent like copper at PVC prices (give or take)

I really like the idea (EMT is cheap and more substantial than PVC), but I'm not sure if many people want to try bending conduit without experience.

Thanks! Really just because you never tend to actually look directly at the lights, so you see the upside of the shade from most positions. Didn't think it was that necessary.

Really nice and functional build. I may attempt to make one sooner. Just a suggestion, maybe the dimming knob be placed mid way for easy reach and control. Maybe on the next build 👌🏼

Nice! I know that you have clamps or even some non-slip material to steady that vise while cutting the pic pipe. I kept wanting to hold it down from my tablet screen as you were cutting lol! You are very deft with soldering led strips. Are there any tricks to it?

What if one of the LED panels blows, will the other ones still work? Would having some connector system between each strip make replacing the strips easier? If so what would you suggest?

I don't think the CRI makes any difference when just reading. Highest sensitivity is somewhere between yellow and green. Certainly, black print on white paper is not a critical visual challenge. For viewing color pictures, it's another story. Then the CRI is necessary.

Great video I love the lamp, I would have just added more LEDs and driven them at a lower power. the LEDs will last for ages, instead of driving them full power.

Daunting amount of soldering for an old geezer like me. Love the idea but might have difficulty with the lack of adjustability in height and angle.because of the difference in sizes of people - children, young pre-teen adults, older adults (basketball types), and old geezers...🤣
