That was SO helpful. I'm renting an electric to go up to Portland OR (from Santa Cruz CA) and you gave me a good education on what to expect! Thanks a lot!
Really informative, though we got our first EV about a month ago. We're loving our Nissan Ariya. An interesting difference between the Ariya and the Leaf is that we don't have one pedal driving... we have almost one pedal, but to come to a full stop, we do have to use the break. The "e-pedal" function on the Ariya will take it down to about 6 mph. I'm not great with most accents, but familiar enough that I had a feeling you're from Sweden or Norway (my partner is Norwegian, so I'm always curious), and when I checked the 'about' section, I saw you're in Virginia, like me! As I'm writing this, I hear you saying you're near Richmond hehe. I see you do a lot of DIY things, so I'll be checking out some of your other videos, too.
Great video and informative. X-tool is very prominent on RU-vid as they had these out like candy. I would love to get a laser system, but they are still too expensive for me. X-tool is reasonable if compared to glowforge, still, too expensive right now
The Xtool S1 sounds like a very useful tool for your environment, and you make laser engravers/cutters sound like something with many uses. I know Jay Bates' wife is running (well, was running before the move) a home business based on a laser engraver. Personally, I think the filtration system is a must-have although I'm betting that equally effective, less-expensive aftermarket alternatives will become available. Good video, Linn. Thanks for sharing.
I created some papercut light boxes with shadow box picture frames and used this circuit to kick the 5v LED strip light/fairy lights when the light in the room was dark enough: ru-vid.comp3nmbbIMvkg when the sun comes up it shuts off the lights. I installed a switch as well, in case someone wanted to turn off the light. Very well done video. Love the idea. I am working on a cement base for a lamp and was looking for molding ideas. Thank you!
You stated you are going a different route...👍 With the first issue...Only assuming you use ONE vehicle to tow your camp trailer...The simplest way (K.I.S.S.) is to use a 4 pin relay in the engine compartment where your fuse box is already located along with the fused 12 volt power source for the 7 pin connector. To energize the rely, a signal wire connects to pin 85 from a ignition source when the key is in the "RUN" position. Pin 86 goes to ground. So, when the key is in the "RUN" position, it will energize the relay. The wire from the fuse for the 7 pin would go to pin 30, then from pin 87 to the 7 pin connector. This way, you only have 12 volts going to the 7 pin connector when the vehicle is running or when the ignition switch is in the "Run" position. If running a DC to DC charger on your camp trailer, yes you are correct and should use a 200A battery isolator with cables (inline fuse/circuit breaker close to the battery) running from your start battery to the back of the vehicle. You will need to install a thermal circuit breaker inline on the positive side before a Anderson plug. Then a mating Anderson plug on the camp trailer to the DC to DC charger. However, this means you have to hook up both the 7 pin and the Anderson plug when towing. The thermal circuit breaker would be sized to the amp rating on the DC to DC charger. The current setup you are working towards look awesome and will continue to follow. I am not an expert and I am learning from your videos. I do know Renogy has some good products. If you want to see some awesome electrical setups for off road/overlanding, look at the Auzzie's down under. I do believe they run some 24 volt systems. Best wishes on you build.
The anti-rust additive is expensive but is reusable so don’t throw it away after you sharpen. Pour it into a lidded container for reuse until it’s too contaminated to use.
Hi Darbin, since you have that machine same time that I do, could you please let me know if the pressure gauge stop working and if you know how to fix it? Thank you
They might be alright if you get one that works properly , thought I'd get the E340 as an upgrade to the single lens 2k version , what a joke , If you live on a fairly busy road , expect about 15 days battery, the 2K doorbell managed 6 weeks , some nights about 20+ motion alerts when theres nobody there or any motion , you can't switch off any motion, only OFF, standard IR, or add the lights, probably last about 5 days if you use the lights , changing sensitivity makes no difference , it just makes it freeze more , when it randomly freezes it picks up nobody at all , even if you stand right in front of it waving, it picks up nothing , its rubbish , you have to play about with all the settings and push bthe doorbell to get it to become active again, then make sure you only buy from an official Eufy outlet , otherwise they don't want to know , what classes as official I don't know but they'll try and worm their way out if they can , 1 in 5 parcels get registered , even if they are large , doesn't matter. I'm glad your happy with yours , but after owning 2 different doorbells now , I'll never buy a Eufy ever again , they can be that poor , several other non subscription products available at a lot better price, read the reviews , I'm not the only person to have had a poor one and they have got rid of their Eufy as well for similar problems .
The idea was great. But the implementation was not at all. It was almost as though you did not care about how it turned out. Like it was just for concept. Small require more attention to details not less. Because there is not a lot there to look at you have to make sure everything is perfect. You should do it again with that in mind.
Nice video, Linn. I installed a (different brand) smartlock on my front door and find it useful. I routinely carry keys, but fishing the keys from my pocket when I'm holding something has always been frustrating. My smartlock greatly reduces that issue. Thanks for sharing
What I don't hear is if the lock is rated good by a locksmith. I don't want my lock hacked, I also don't want ti to open by a bump key. I have 2 wi-fi locks now and love them, but they're there for security and that is hardly, if ever, discussed.
