I did a few races like this in my charger scat pack, stock2stock even if you do jump out on him those 10sp aint no joke, each time they caught me and passed, the 10sp is a whooole other level of fast.
The world needs more honest people like you!! I had a fbo 2017 camaro and got walked by a 2021 scat with headers only. Admittedly he said he had trans tune but idk how much that matters on the newer ones.
The Camaro was never more than a car back and started pulling on the top. That was a great comparison. If not for the challenger getting the jump they would of been neck & neck til the Camaro started pulling.

I was so close to buying a 2020 camero 2ss last week for 40k buuut I found a 2017 camaro ZL1 for 45k....Hope to own the ZL1 exorcist one day. ..respect to all the car lovers
Actually, I think the Challenger got the advantage because he bumped the accelerator on the first honk from the Camaro. Still, even after the chase, the Camaro was not able to catch up.... this time. :D

10 speed from the factory? Good lord! Back during the muscle car era the mere notion of a 10 speed would've been ludicrous with probably everyone agreeing that it could never happen. Fast forward though and here we are. I'd really like to drive one of those out of curiosity.
It really more of the areo taking over more than the 10 speed. Out where I live, we getting some strong winds and when both are running in the direction of the wind, the challengers stay out front but when going against the wind, the camaro catches up on the top end especially against the wide body
Dont forget, its a wide body on 305's. Wider tires dampen your top speed. I have a 392 chally, and raced an identical car, both low miles, he pulled on me on the freeway over and over, and the only difference is i am running 315's on the rear.
@@ryangoodfriend7258 that's 20 extra millimeters total. Width, contact patch, pattern, temperature, and compound all make a difference in designing something for top speed or max grip

Dodge is out of this world, its so amazing how they make these big heavy boats go so fast. I own a 2021 octane red Scatpack Charger and a 2020 Pitch black wide body Scatpack Challenger and they both hit 180 completely stock. I'm trading both of my Scats for a Hellcat Challenger, but im getting a 2018 Dodge Durango Scatpack as my family SUV, that thing is also fucking crazy fast.
If they had same reaction time and went same time camaro wins every time. 10 speed 5.0s and camaros are way faster from a high roll. But a dig the scat wins every time
It didn't lose..it was coming back...slow cux either he didn't go in the right gear and rpms..or the scat jumped which it clearly looked like the scat jumped. But it was a good race for sure..

everyone loves to argue which is faster stock for stock scatpack, mustang gt, or camaro ss. The answer is all 3 are basically the exact same get what you want and learn to drive it, with these 3 the driver is literally the only thing that matters

I love all these comments saying "10 speed better tranny". Just because it has 2 more gears doesn't make it better. For one the ZF8 is the most sold Automatic usually every year. Used for multiple vehicles. Very universal. On top of that. Stock for stock, that ZF8 in that widebody could handle way more Torque than your 10 Speed. I love the new 10 Speed, Ford and Chevy did a great job on it. But the ZF8 hands down is the best automatic Transmission for an American Muscle car.
Except that it is better. The 10R80 has more power in later RPM's because of those two extra gears. Also, due to having more gears it loses less RPM than the ZF8 per shift meaning you stay in your power band longer. There's a reason Dodge is the only muscle car manufacturer using an 8 speed still, the 10R80 is just flat out better.
I thought that too until I bought one (SS), as noted above probably doesn’t add anything to 1/4 mile but from a roll hits the peak power and reels them in when engines are similar. The Challenger sounded great!

The ZF8 is better than your 10 speed. I’m sorry it’s just the truth. Yes your gearing is better because you got 10 gears. Bought in clear line up. Way more on the road they will have a better reliability record. You have to remember the 10 speed isn’t a dinosaur. It’s brand new. The oldest thing that has one is like a raptor.

I was going to get a hellcat but ended up getting a charger widebody 392. You will never get to use 707hp as a daily. The 6.4 is the best bang for the buck and I've seen two stock widebodys dyno 500=505hp to the crank. Off the line I will smash a hellcat or redeye because they will spin out too much. I will get mopped on a roll though.
392 got the jump. Would have been neck and neck if he didn’t. SS was pulling on him before they let off though. Probably would have been a W for the SS if 392 didn’t jump. Good race either way.

Line them up and see who's got the top end. Plain and simple. Both are beautiful machines regardless of the winner, but you gotta play fair.
The scattpack, the 10 speed camaro and mustangs are badges but the 10 speed LT1 seems to beat everything in its class, if the front end wasn't so ugly I'd buy one.
Good run! 392 torque is just more snappy, but top end in most scenario the Camaro top end 🎣 taking it at only 3700lbs. I can personally say my SS never lost to a scat pack in roll racing even before it was bone stock A8,
Molar fan-Pretty interesting here. I’m surprised about the 392’s performance. When I was at the drag strip, I videoed a 2018 Challenger 392 vs 2020 Camaro SS, and the 392 left the SS in the dust. Guess it’s a different story on asphalt.👏🏽

As a kid, a Yellow & Black Challenger with N50’s used to park near my house periodically and it stopped me each time I passed, (‘75/‘76). The one time I peered in the window saw that unique ‘Stick Shift’, then heard a Yell, “Get the $&@# away from it!” From that moment-on, I placed Nails on both sides of those N50’s, wedging them at an angle so they’d penetrate either way he went on that cobblestone street. Absolutely sinful behavior for a 8-9yr old, (@AnyAge) but it’s the reason I would invite any onlooker to sit inside or see or even be taken for a ride in musclecars I was fortunate enough to own. Not really sure how the outcome came about. Raced my buddies 2018 Challenger R/T scat pack with my 2016 camaro 2ss, both 8 speed. We were dead even for about 3 seconds then I pulled hard all the way up. Did you not start in a low gear? Best way to race a camaro is to throw it in the lowest gear possible with track mode and competitive mode on, then throw it in auto mode before it shifts into the next gear. 3 races had the same result. Good race though.
Your not lying on the RT race.. I have an RT and I can keep up on the launch for like 3 5 seconds then the ss vrrrrooomm but considering my boat has less power and 250k miles 246k when I raced it,, not too shabby yo

Ss is faster period just not on this day. Ss also had a pax which negated its advantage that it had on the scatpack therefore this outcome is what you get 😉
You could say that if the cars where Carbureted, but these cars are EFI. Which means the computer makes the adjustments for the weather condition & fuel rating. Not knocking the SS, but if it was a 8 spd or original 6spd it would be nothing to talk about
