Traded my HD for a Challenger. Main reason, liquid cooled. Waited for HD to put that engine from the Pan America in a cruiser. Couldn’t wait any longer.

The cost difference on cams is because the challenger motor has to get dropped down out of the frame about 6", to get the covers off and swap cams. Indian says 10-12hrs labor @ $125 hr, I think some shops can do it in about 8hrs (Lloyd's)though
@DarkHorseParatrooper
@DarkHorseParatrooper 2 года назад
I know, I'm an Indian tech. And no, it don't take 8 hours... the book prices are just for dealers to make money, it may say 8 to 10 hours when it fact it take 3 or 4 quite often. Like you gotta realize, just dropping the engine only takes like 30 minutes tops. Few bolts, couple plugs, it's not as hard as people would want you to believe.

The first Bike I road in 25 years was a 2016 103” Dyna Street Bob , I’ve had it for two years now and don’t plan on getting rid of it .Great Bike. Now that I’m 52 years old I want to buy a brand new Bagger and I’m leaning toward the chieftain limited but the Challenger is starting to grow on me a little. Keep the content coming

Challenger is great, it's really fast and has a lot of features right outta the box. Thanks for watching!

Gday mate I've got a 2020 chieftain darkhorse and from a personal point of view. I highly recommend a chieftain be it a darkhorse or limited. I hear people complain about the fit and finish not being up to scratch. One word Bullshit! Plus they come with heavy duty clutch, high flow heads all standard. And I think the chieftain looks way better than a street glide. You will be impressed I'm sure with a chieftain. Cheers 🍺 🍺 🍺 🍺 🍺 🍺. 🇳🇿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I came to Indian from Harley and do not anticipate ever going back. I had the problem with the throttle and am overall happy with the new flash. What I am tired of is the lack of Indian accessories from INDIAN! The local dealer also sells BMW’s and I can see migrating over to the K1600B. If I can’t buy a new Indian or get parts to accessorize my current one for well over two years, why am I going to stay? I know-Covid…
@DarkHorseParatrooper
@DarkHorseParatrooper 2 года назад
Same. My dealer sells BMW also, or at least they try to, lots of those avaliable on the showfloor still😅 I'm not 100 percent with you on the accessories though, there are quite a lot depending on model

Nice honest review, love my HD but enjoy watching other channels. The driving force is getting out and riding , no matter what you ride. Not a big fan of electric’s, but to each his own brother, my dealer gets colored bikes in but they can’t keep them in stock. Stage2 for 1400 parts included. Dealers are big, for fluid changes, tires etc. When your touring, having the dealer networks is nice. Rent a Harley for a weekend then see how you feel. Stay safe New sub 😎

I've had some for a week or so at a time. Didn't enjoy them, do love the paint jobs though, quite nice! Thanks for commenting, and for the sub, ride safe!

My saddlebags on my challenger were warped, they leaked so bad!!! The windshield up on the challenger looks like a boner, 😂 I never had to worry about mine, it broke twice and wouldn’t go up!! I feel like Indian is coming around with their paint and chrome game, just not on the challenger. The engine and suspension on the challenger is awesome, just need to get all the ancillary things on the bike better
@DarkHorseParatrooper
@DarkHorseParatrooper 2 года назад
Yeah I love how useful the shield is, but I like the HD style better. Bags warped huh? Most people just aren't pushing them hard enough to get them broken in right, or the screws need slight adjustment. Man you had all kinds of wrong😂 Glad you're enjoying the new bike tho!!

I was strongly considering buying a roadmaster limited. The Indian dealer in my town (powersports) abruptly dropped the Indian brand. Or vice versa I'm not sure. The closest indian dealer to me is over 100 miles away. We do have a HD dealership here in tallahassee fl. Ended up getting a roadglide limited here locally.liked the challenger too but it just lacked the feel I was used to. Came off a ultra limited, and I wasn't a fan of the tuning on the challenger or roadmaster either. They are all great bikes! Indian is pushing harley, I love it.

Yeah man I had the opposite experience. I jumped on the new ST 117, and it felt so slow and way less maneuverable than the Challenger. It's actually surprising to hear you didn't like the feel, they are crazy nimble and move like lightning. Thanks for the comment, enjoy your bike!

@@DarkHorseParatrooper I just kept hearing about how fast the challenger was, when I rode it I was expecting much more. I had an ultra stage 2 did not feel any faster honestly. My son had a kawi z14 ninja race tuned over 200 hp so everything felt slow compared to that bike.

Harley has been working on aftermarket and add on parts for 20 pLus years, so of course they're going to have better selection, It will take a lot of years for Indian to catch up on that part of things, never going to change overnight! I find Indian Parts way more expensive than Harley parts but hey it is what it is!!!

The fob locking bags is a hassle when you have electric issues.i could not access my trunk to get my clothes when I went on a week end trip so I had to go buy new clothes to get through the weekend and now I'm 3 hrs away from a dealer to get it checked out with a Harley 40 minutes away.

What? There is a key, super easy to use, just like any other lock. If you can't use a key I don't know what to tell you, maybe you shouldn't ride motorcycles. Sounds like a fake story. In fact, definitely is.

Indian needs to send a tech trainer out to every Polaris dealer or service dept and train techs to service Indian bikes. That would bring Indian up to par with ease to Harley service network. My Indian extended warranty with wheel and tire only covers 40 miles of towing on my Springfield… this isn’t a cafe racer or a crotch rocket.. 40 miles from my house is what it takes to warm my bike up for a ride… lol

Some shops are better than others. I've heard some stories. Funny thing is, pretty much all the shops I've heard with bad Indian techs, the dudes came out of HD dealerships... not sure if it's a coincidence.
