During our trip to California, we faced a lot of challenges while traveling with a disability. Our challenges ranged from almost falling during an airplane transfer, getting a room with a tub, and being blocked in by a van. Despite the added challenges, we had an amazing time and Cole did a great job presenting universal design to the google network!

About Roll With Cole & Charisma:
Hey everyone! We’re Cole & Charisma. Since the start of our relationship we've gotten a lot of questions about how we make things work as not only an interracial couple, but an interabled one as well. There are certainly differences, and despite them we have a great time, all the time! On this channel, you’ll find travel vlogs, Q&As, couple challenges, how-to/educational videos and more. We started this channel to bring people into our lives so we can answer some questions about how we navigate the world. We’ll show you behind-the-scenes stuff people typically don't see, and hopefully raise awareness surrounding accessibility and dating in a wheelchair. You'll quickly see in our episodes that we're all about positivity, inclusion, and keeping a great attitude no matter your circumstances, so if that's what you're into, you're in the right place!

Roll with Cole & Charisma they need to hire you as their permanent accessibility liaison. If that such a thing. Think about it they can call you to make speeches when needed. You’ll be there to help them navigate through the disabled world. Especially help big corporations to understand why it’s necessary to accommodate all. The able bodies as well as the disable.

I face a lot of same struggles you face while traveling I have not been on a plane since 2011 because it’s very difficult for me to transfer I love vacationing but I don’t get to do very often I wish things could be more accessible for people like us I look up To u cole

Synthetic fragrances! Breathing disabilities are life threatening yet never considered in public spaces where scented products are ubiquitous. Even hospitals and staff are problematic when fragrance-free policies are dismissed.

I’m a service dog handler, and air travel is a nightmare. I don’t think I’ll ever fly with my dog again unless it’s an emergency. I’d rather road trip and let him out to take breaks to walk, and not have to restrict his food and water intake. Also, fun fact, the kitchenware brand OXO was created purposefully for universal design! That’s why their products look “funny” compared to the standard items out there. I learned that in an accessibility class I took for my Masters. Thought I’d share 😁

My sis injured her foot a day before we left on vacation, and we had to end up renting a wheelchair, I have a new appreciation for some of the challenges you face, some places we didnt even bother to go out because the streets had no accessibility for me to push her other than the busy street. One island we stopped in we literally were in the road with cars, smh, and the grace and patience needed between the caregiver and the care receiver is amazing because it's not easy for both parties, even more respect for you both, happy holidays

I agree with you Cole. I always ask myself why things that people with disabilities need aren't already there. We people have to speak for those things to happen and I have no problem with it. It's just frustrating that sometimes society forgets that people with disabilities exist and some stuff should already be there. I don't know if I explained myself but I hope you understood.

How do you get involved in activities like this? I want to help make people more aware of accessibility issues for those of us with disabilites too. I'm a paraplegic myself so I understand a lot about the physical challenges that come with beiong in a wheelchair especially trying to navigate around our city.

Public speaking was never one of my fortes until I started teaching CPR at work. Having full knowledge of the subject matter made it easier. I would usually do the lecture portion, then my co-instructors would jump in for the practical/ practice portion. I would have to say that you, (Cole), are more than qualified to give a lecture on accessibility. You are so open, direct and genuine. Yeah, I still got butterflies before a large class but once I started talking they went away. You did a great job in capturing your audience and speaking from the heart. You could see the nerves calmly fade away. Kudos to Charisma and Momma Kelly as well. You all make a great team.

Great job Cole. I'm so glad that you and Charisma fight for the disabled. We need more people like you all. And I can't forget Mom Kelli too. Right now I'm fighting for my disability. It's so hard but with my hubby and my God we will get through this too. I so depend on my hubby without him lord knows what would happen to me. Again thanks guy's so much. I feel you on the public speaking, Cole. I always dreaded the class presentations in college for this reason. I remember one time when I was so nervous doing a report on juvenile justice my legs started shaking harder than usual. I have mild cerebral palsy with hearing & speech impairments but I got through my report good enough for an A +. You are great at public speaking no matter how nervous and icky you feel beforehand, Cole. It was great to see the real time captions & ASL, they bring me back to my college days at NTID/RIT. Wonderful job with the video production & editing, Charisma and Cole ( & family :)); I love you channel & the bits of life shared with us, along with knowledge and tips. Thank you

Would you be ok answering this question i have?, which is on the plane how would you tackle IC's ? i know Charisma mentioned something about helping you cole with that on the plane but how would you make it work without your chair to transfer to , to head to the bathroom? genuinely ooking for info i'm also paraplegic i jut havent done much flying last i flew i wasnt old enough for IC's

Cole u did a wonderful job an u didn't leave out the one's that helps u an there for u, so sorry ur flight wasn't as comfortable because Charisma wasn't right next to u or other situations, or ur hotel reservations got mixed up, please becareful u not only scared ur mom but other's ( because we don't want nothing but good thing's to happen to u) ur mom an Charisma have a beautiful relationship, God bless u all.

Check out Molly Burke's video on traveling as a blind person. She struggled because her disability isn't visible to eye unless she has her dog. I would love to see accessibility be more broad spectrum so everyone can fly easily 💕

We love travelling but it can be challenging! This year we're finally going to be 'taking a gap year' which we'd been planning long before I was paralyzed! We're going to be campervaning around Australia and New Zealand for 3 months in a non-wheelchair adapted van so I expect there will be many challenges coming up but we can't wait (and we'll be vlogging it all)! Also going to Asia which we've never been to before so no idea what that will be like in a wheelchair. We're finding planning our travels much more difficult than they used to be, trying to find suitable accommodation, working out how to carry all our stuff, bring enough catheters etc

Mama Kelly and Charisma’s relationship is in-law goals. I can tell she knows her boundaries with her MIL, but I can feel the love at the same time. I have the same thing with my MIL as well. I got lucky.

A man in my city wanted to make a point about not parking in the bike lane or on sidewalks (the ones that are wide and flat with the road) so he stood in traffic by a car illegally parked in the bicycle lane telling people that were honking and getting annoyed with him that ..."I'm only going to be a minute" "I'm not parked I'm just stopping quickly" "it's ok you can just go around me" ...it took only a few minutes for a LOT of people to get angry but he made the news and the point was made :)
