I was thinking of growing it to sell as fencing material, PA was where I had in mind, it grows all over New Jersey now.

Just keep in mind, the bamboo poles with weather outdoors if not treated with something. You might try growing a species of Chusquea which has solid poles, and therefore less prone to splitting. (bambubatu.com/genus-chusquea-solid-bamboo-of-the-americas/)

I didn't know there was a solid bamboo species. I might just grow this over the summer, I wonder if its banned in New Jersey like the other species, probably right. My thinking with starting a farm was first, I need some way to fence an acre of land so why not grow bamboo to make the fence and save 20,000? Then I think well why not just make the farm for bamboo? Could I find a buyer? That is the question.

@@zomalfa4363 Chusquea is a clumping genus of bamboo, so there's no reason for it to be banned. (Although some laws are enacted without good reason!) Yes, it makes a great natural fence, but selling the poles isn't so easy.

I disagree because in New Jersey, there's something like 8 million people all living within an hours drive of each other, so with that you're gonna find some who will buy it ..but will it pay?

Yes it’s a good replacement to pine-a-fication and then the national ten year pine beetle blight. 16:03 bamboo floor squares seem to be a option. They were in my parents brochures for floor building. They just wanted darker.

Would it be possible for to start a good Guadua angustifolia bamboo farm in the southern US? If so, what states do you think would be the best for it and if not then what are some other bamboo species that are timber bamboo that can grow well in the US?

What do you think about Moso bamboo for a farm?

It depends on the location, but Moso is generally pretty finicky and slow to get established
