There's no easy day for the MMDA NTFSO team. Watch as they try to instill discipline on EDSA and clear the alternative routes of illegally parked vehicles.
There should be jail time for these types of drivers. Kahit 1 week max lang so they will have second thoughts on disrespecting the traffic enforcers. Bastos sobra
The hard- headedness and being undisciplined of Filipino motorists somehow bring employment to other people, namely: mmda personnel, towing company, lto personnel, and not to forget to mention, your channel. Your channel actually not only brings awareness but also entertainment.
Thing is if you go to Subic driving habits are much better. I see enforcement in Subic for not following right of way at intersections, I see enforcement in Subic for people driving outside of valid lanes, I see enforcement in Subic for people making turns from inappropriate lanes and it works. Without enforcement motorists are undisciplined but it is clear as day that with constant and regular enforcement Filipino's can and do quickly switch to following the rules of the road.
Kudos to that mmda officer bravely standing in front of the motorcycles just to force them to stop. Thats dangerous as hell. One of the reasons they should bring back NCAP
I believe NCAP should be returned, especially for mmda, because they had operated their NCAP for severel years without any problems. It was the LGU-private NCAP that was being complained about. But of course you still need enforcers on the ground, because like you saw in the video, many people don't attach a plate or they have a "broken" plate.
@@GadgetAddict yes of course we don't want the awful system from lgu-ncap before. Would you agree that there should be a balance? Like officers can still be posted along select parts of EDSA to catch vehicles with broken plates. But then with ncap cameras in place, they don't need to be risking their safety for 'runaway' situations
I always watch your videos and everytime I do, I get infuriated while at the same time, frustrated. Infuriated because everyone knows that the BUS LANE is for BUSES and yet, they chose to willfully neglect it which makes me feel frustrated. In addition, it seems that we are in a vicious cycle which is why I strongly agree with what you have said that raising the penalty will be an effective deterrent. Still, kudos to MMDA and I hope they stay consistent.
This is the best thing that happened to EDSA! I've driven in EDSA many times before the bus lanes and it's a nightmare! It's just pure chaos without the bus lanes. But with the bus lanes it's easier to drive in EDSA now. Sure when it's rush hour it's slow but it's easier now whenever I need to turn right into a street in EDSA. Before I had to mind the yellow lane so that I won't violate going over the yellow lane. Now I can just use the rightmost lane and no problem turning right into a street corner.
Did you notice the motorcycle that swerved to exit EDSA at 3:07-3:12 of the video. It looks like he saw the MMDA up ahead and didn’t want to risk getting stopped.
I love what you are doing. Tip: south bound at the bus lane infront of those luxury cars going to ortigas, a lot of privates passes there, since there’s no more next bus stops.
Im from El Salvador and these MMDA Officers remind me to a couple of Agencies we have here that do the same labour as them: One is the CAM, Municipal Agents Corps that enforce Municipal Ordinance on every town, public order, and have to deal with market and street vendors. Unlike the MMDA, the CAM uses fire weapons. The other is the Transit Managers, they answer to the Vice Ministry of Transportation which is a branch of the Public Works Ministry, they do pretty much the same the MMDA do on this video.
A slightly grim thought: I imagine there's an overlap of (a) motorists with hidden or damaged plates, and (b) motorists with outstanding violations that escaped apprehension. They need to be identified at the soonest and subpoena'd to a court or similar body. If that fails (i.e. they don't show up), their violation will pop up at the next registration cycle. Their papers should reflect the chassis number or something if the plate matches the etchings. But how are they caught if they pay a fixer for their registration?
Thanks for your work. It seems like no Filipino would do what you are doing. I wish you the best and thank you for loving my country that you would do this. I hope you will keep doing this.
A challenging day is a good day. It makes work exciting & fulfilling rather than boring. Won’t stop, use stop sticks. Flat tire , can’t go anywhere plus ticket etc. Awesome!
To some degree yes. But it's never good when enforcers get hurt, just for doing their job. Thankfully someone already came forward to identify the rider.
If MMDA wants to end this, I have a few suggestions, 1.) Confiscate the license (They need to attend seminars) 2.) Add a demerit points (non-negotiable) to the violator 3.) Implement NCAP inside the bus lane 4.) Implement a higher penalty 5.) Put a metal barrier in bridges (So many violators in bridges because there's no MMDA), its so sad that we need to be super strict in order people to follow.
The bus way system is one of the best move the gov’t has done. We always complain before of buses swerving in and out of traffic. This solves it. Let us give it to them already as their share of the road. Let us share of what is left and give way to each other. Hopefully, even private armored vehicles with police escorts observe this as well and those bearing various security plate vehicles. Kudos to MMDA and to Col. Bong Nebrija tireless efforts! 😎👍👍👍
We need to make penalties so much heavier that no one would dare violate na din talaga. Saua
Dont expect drastic improvements if we dont try to make drastic changes with the penalties etc. Perfect example: Never ending bus lane + no loading unloading violations by buses during pre pandemic and look at it now..
that skinny MMDA enforcer that constantly steps in front of those attempting to escape... he needs a bigger pair of pants to hold those enormous cojones 💪
We might not need full coverage but moving coverage is needed. In most countries there are officers driving in traffic that pull people over for violating laws and not just stationary officers waiting to see people break laws. Mobile officers get to see people make lane changes without signals, making turns from inappropriate lanes, driving without dare care and caution, cutting people off, not sharing the road and people who are obviously intoxicated. Having officers in traffic that pull people over from breaking rules is common place and expected. Official vehicles aren't just for transporting officers and then parking they can and should be used to travel within the traffic and to monitor and enforce.
Is the U-turn slot in front of camp aguinaldo and camp crame open for light vehicles? I've been seeing road signs saying It's open for usage for cars and suvs but it is confusing.
Here in Sydney Australia.Motorcyclists,Hired CAS and Taxis are allowed to used the Bus Lane.Bus Lane only are from 7 to 10 AM them 3 to 7 PM on Weekdays. But the problem in Metro Manila are there are too many motorcyclists.
Can you post the video of the guy who ditched the enforcers once they catch him? That way we can see what happens when someone does that and will hopefully become a deterrent for those who will think of doing that in the future.
Change the law. If you try to run from the enforcers automatic impound and suspension of license for 6 months. The only way people will follow the law is stiffer penalties.
I've lost count of the number of MCs that have been hit by buses in the bus lane. Or worse, caused the bus to crash into something else, while trying to avoid a rider that suddenly entered without checking his mirrors first 🤦 And with a daily volume of ~150,000 MC on that highway, it would really cause a big problem if you suddenly allowed MCs into the exclusive bus lane. Maybe it can work in some parts of the world, depending on the volume, speed, competency of drivers or riders etc etc. But for EDSA? 😅
@@GadgetAddict Yeah, I agree that it can't work everywhere my friend, I was just highlighting that it can work. I use the bus lanes in and around Bristol and Bath to great effect and of course riding safely in ANY lane is my priority. 👊🏼
@@tastemate3300 Yep! Like I said. For the record I am not trying to start an arguement or disagree with anyone, I am merely stating that elsewhere it can work. Peace 👊🏼
Who ever said they should let bikes and cars in the bus lane is mental.
Hi I have a question you said that if there is a lane assign to the road like bike lane then why do we have a motorcycle lane but no one is enforcing it?
Why can't they raise the violation fee? 1k is so small, too many violators already. Maybe for alternatives the MMDA or the government should make an AD for the bus lane of who are allowed to go in the bus lane. Maybe they can put up a billboard. It's just a suggestion.
Bigger penalty, bigger signs.. There's a dozen different little things that would make a huge impact on our roads. This "mano-mano" enforcement is not the brightest nor the most efficient way to enforce traffic. We need to step up our enforcement because the current situation is working but could clearly be improved.
remove the bike lane on EDSA, set them in the secondary roads for their own safety also put barrier on bus lane so that motorist will not pass through that lane. make traffic solutions not just apprehensions. minsan po kasi nasa pisikal na kalsada ang problema, kulang sa mga tamang signs(ito po yung tama ang laki, posisyon sa lugar-for visibility) to guide motorist, hindi yung hinihintay ka ng mga enforcer na magkamali at dun huhulihin ka.
I agree with you about stiff penalties for infractions. Have to make them realize it cost more to break the law then to do what is right. I think most violators do what they do because the penalty is not that stiff.
For major traffic offenses, implement high fine charges and automatically suspend the license from a month to being completely revoked depending on the violation.
I'm pretty sure a lot of those people who are complaining about the bus lane are those people who have cars and are stuck with the heavy traffic along EDSA. They're pretty much jealous na yung mga regular commuter sa EDSA e mas mabilis yung byahe kesa sakanila. They are also the ones who post and share stuff like "Kawawa naman yung mga commuters natin. They don't deserve this." kasama yung nirerecycle na picture na may mahabang pila sa bus lane or MRT, pero ayaw nilang 'nagugulangan' sila sa EDSA haha. 😂😂
Went to driving school, passed exams/practicals and LTO exams/practicals. I told myself as a newbie driver its easy to follow the road rules, until there's instances that its hard to comply lmao. That's true, there are no such thing as perfect drivers. If you get caught, then face the consequences of your actions for goodness sake. 11:08
Indonesia, particularly Jakarta, has already implemented dedicated bus lanes many years ago. Here, especially during Duterte's time, it's still a novelty.
What actually makes these efforts more difficult is that, on top of enforcement challenges, the MMDA is trying to change the citizenry's driving culture. It will take time and a lot of resolve on the part of MMDA.
12:19 Mr. Addict, maybe they should equip the enforcers with throw-nets to use against escaping violators. They'll have a difficult time running away if they get entangled in the net.
please also operate the exclusive motor cycle line in commonwealth. we cant drive freely there, because public and private vehicle was always taking over the line . thank you ^^
They are so hard headed ..maybe it’s time to increase the penalty, impound their cars or motorcycles and suspend their licence for a year because it’s really annoying…they have no respect 😤
They lack brakes too and shouldn't stopped even if they don't have right of way. Don't forget the "ma bait naman sya na tao" when they get into an accident. It's all in the kamote handbook
Brave enough to violate the traffic rules because they can just simply pay for it. With the current rules, traffic law is just all about the money. Other than money, why not use a point system? Revoke their license on their 3rd violation, regardless of the severity. Punch a hole on their license every time there's a violation. 3rd holes indicate license revocation. 4th violation should impound whatever vehicle they're driving. Enforcers who were found guilty of abusing their authority should be reprimanded also. Dismiss and remove eligibility to any government employee benefits. LTO should require a working dashcam on every vehicle for their own protection. Same with the enforcers.
Increase the fines more to give a bigger deterrant.... increase the impound charge and include a daily 'storage' fee... revoke license of repeat offenders
The traffic situation could be solved with one word: Discipline. This would only work if we all follow rules and regulations. It's sad that Filipinos can observe rules when in outher countries but act the way they do when they're back home. Increasing the penalties is warranted and NOT anti-poor.
Tingnan natin if papasok pa dyan.
