born and raised in San Francisco, and used to play this album and rare earth/ the long versions and smoking panama red. what a different world back then. went in the marines 1971. and here I am 40 plus years later. survived and seen it all. retired and living life. love, peace, and happiness to all.
My uncle introduced me to these guys while in my early 20s. This was in the mid 90s. He told me to give songs besides hits a chance.. I enjoy the Chambers Brothers, Dwight Twilley Band, etc..
This song takes me back to the late 60's I can't believe the world is so uptight now . Thank God I grew up when you could have some fun. I feel for these poor 21st century kids. Long live the 60's
wish i can find parts 2&3,but since my grand daughter memtioned Love Peace and Happiness this is for her:this is real music from your granpas' day love baby, peace and happiness to ya!
grew up in san francisco since 1953. lived this. bought this album back in the day-would smoke a joint and just lisen to the whole version. one freakin bad song! the chamber bros were bad. wonder what ever happened to them? the 1960's music revolution of the best music ever-will stand the test of time. graduated from lincoln high 1971--july 12th went into the marine corp.
grew up in san francisco--used to play this long version smoking panama red. those were some unreal times--the doors, hendrix, santana, all the groups and the people I knew, and the things I saw. unbelieveable. went in the marines july 1971. love-peace-and happiness to all.
I was looking for the full version of this song then I remembered it's over 16 minutes long and RU-vid only allows 10 min vids. lol Thanks for the upload. I love this record to death!
No redman this is the CHAMBERS BROTHERS. Not Jimi. They were one of the earliest "mixed" groups--both black and white musicians working PUBLICLY together to make incredible music. Still amazing stuff today.
@vickiannec its doin the same for me man and im only 20! good music is timeless!! i thank your generation. Seriously i was in my apartment all by myself feelin the whole world on top of my shoulders and this song that i got directed to from a skateboard video made me fuckin explode out of the compression of all my troubles! I turned my negative energy into a fuckkn rocket, this song is responsible for my reconfiguration into limitless possibilities! I said, "higherr HIGHERRR!!"
ok......lots of great postslllllllllll but when i was in high school.........! this song was in one killer surf movie called cosmic children...! great song.. along with csn+y..... killer..so was the fumes in the back of the theatre.! hmmmmmmmmmmmmm
I first heard this song on Crips and Bloods made in America and I thought it was a Jimi Hendrix b side or something cause it kinda sounds like his voice. This song got so stuck in my head I had to look it up.
@jwjeffrey Actually there was a Digitally Remastered CD sold. But it was very limited and also didnt sound half as good as vinyl master. If you are lucky you can find the cd for a prize about 130 USD
@jwjeffrey Original master just plain transfered would be much better. Only few CD remaster I ve seen i my life were at least as good as original one. Usually they are to heavy on the bass (dont even mentioning often srcewed up dynamic resolution)
