The Champaca tree also known as magnolia champagne or yellow jade orchard tree, belongs to the magnolia seya family. Magnolias being reputed as very precious among plants, have a long and romantic history of cultivation. The magnolia plant family is one of the oldest among other flower families. Fossilised magnolia flowers along with the bugs were discovered in rocks stating around 95 million years back.
