I'd have a lot more fun if i was pulling them out one after the other like you. Mw freezer would be full and all the cats in my area would be fat as fools. 😂😂😂😂 cheers thanks for watching and commenting. 😊

Love how you live your life... being in peace... and enjoying those little pleasures is all we hope for I guess... sweet you threw the fish back in the sea... it sure got dark out there and feels good to head back home ...champagne and roses would do ... fish another time 🙏🌹
The simple pleasures is right. We take so much for granted each day always looking for something else. Thanks for watching and for your lovely comment 😊 as always.
A happy wife leads to a happy life, though some say marriage is like a deck of cards…..starts off all hearts & diamonds…ends with clubs & spades! 😂 Enjoy the off season and stay safe Vince till the new season swings around. With the climate in flux I have visions of you catching monster Tuna one of those days as the trout & salmon migration northwards kicks in…not sure where the Mackerel have migrated to but we’ll soon find out no doubt.
Never heard the deal of cards saying must remember that one that's a good one. Since Ireland joined the Eu all boats are in irish waters and have cleaned the place out. Literally cleaned the place. It's a disaster. The salmon are scarce the seals are going up river out past ballincollig up the bride 20 miles past ballincollig looking for fish to eat.
It can only get better. Hopefully they will remove the brown tag from the river Lee in cork next year and i will catch a few salmon next year. Impossible to get a brown tag. Its all rules regulations barbless single hooks it's all hammer the poor angler and he's not the problem. He's at the bottom of the food chain and he's getting picked on brought to court for trivial things and the big poachers nobody touches them. That's just life. Just obey all the rules and keep your head down. I remember catching a beautiful salmon one morning and was walking back to my car with my prize. The bailiffs came out of the bushes we want to examine your fish. They lay it on the ground checking it thoroughly and turned it over there was a gash on the fishes side i hadn't noticed the bailiff pointed to the gash and looked at me and said explain. I felt the blood drain from me oh no i though I'm in big trouble then i looked at the gash and felt relief and anger come over me. I said to the bailiff look at that gash more carefully that's not fresh that's happened a few days ago weather if was deliberately foul hooked or accidently it doesn't matter it happened days ago and is in the process of healing. There was a clear film growing over the wound. If that was fresh I'd be in serious trouble now i said to the bailiff. Your man backed tracked. Oh i wasn't saying anything which he was won't name him but a real bad egg he's retired now thank God. I took my fish and headed off after learning a very valuable lesson. When your mackerel fishing you have none of these problem thanks be to God. 😂😂😂😂😂😂
In France, Vincent, the dog fish is some sort of a delicacy, they sell them in supermarkets, skinned, looks a bit like a piece of conger eel. However, I was never brave enough to try it. Have a good time and thank you for your videos, all the best, Dietrich.
The fishing is getting so bad ill end up going fishing for dog fish and my freezer will be full. How bad can they taste? Years ago i used eat a lot of pike they were lovely pure white flesh. With no bones. Haven't eatin one in years since they brought in the new rules of only taking two max a day and they have to be under 6 pounds. I used catch and sell them big big ones 20 pounders. Maybe I'll have another go at the pike over the winter. Thanks for watching and commenting cheers.
I have an absolute passion for fly fishing since my late twenties This year (I am now in my seventies) i have not been able to fly fish as much. Although i am lucky that my Lifelong friend Roger owns a house and boat on the edge of Lough Corrib and i have been going over to see him and fish for a fortnight in May for many year's now. Because i cannot fish as much your videos Vincent mean so much to me and emind me so much of my youthful youthful days. Thanks a million Vincent keep them coming in the future. Best regards Dave Cowlard.😂
I'm delighted you enjoyed them. Cheers. Its great getting out fishing away from the world and its problems. Its heaven. Please God lots more to come in the future.
Or maybe a day on the stocked lake were we shared a rod and caught some whoppers. That sounds like a good plan if your up to it some day soon. Will be in touch. That will fill the black hole in the freezer.😊
A Spratt to catch a Mackerel! You romantic devil. Hope wifey liked the bait? Your fishing trip matched my recent river excursion which saw one Trout jump 6 km of walking and nothing on the line. Kindest regards.
Know the story only to well. Hope you enjoyed the 6 km walk because that's the way it's going. I tried lots of day's for mackerel off camera. Still have a big black hole in my freezer. I always every year went once twice at the most mackerel fishing and would really enjoy the day or two and fill my freezer and enjoy myself. I can see tags for mackerel in the future. We will be old telling the youngsters there used be so many mackerel you could catch them with your hand. The good old days. 😢 the kids will think we're joking. 😂😂😂😂
Cheers for all the videos you put out Vincent, I really enjoy watching you fish and having a few jars whilst at it. Hope there's many more to come. All the best
Thank you for your lovely comment. Means a lot to me. I enjoy making the videos very much. So I'll keep at it until the whiskey kills me😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 we all go sometime 😂😂😂😂😂😂 cheers for the chest.
Thanks Vincent for your nice video , very relaxing both for music and landscapes . The stop of fishing season will last just few months , I look forward to your next videos. All the best and take care. 👋👋👋🍻cheers.
Thanks a million for watching and for always your lovely comments. Glad you enjoyed my guitar playing. Just don't listen to carefully 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 never up to your standards. 😊
Hi mate. I'm fascinated by how someone can get tangled that high up a lampost! Sometimes on our river you see, mainly spinners stuck on electric wires which must be a bit scary when it happens. I've had a swan take by bait when I used to carp fish and had to reel it in to unhook it. It was livid! Yes, the awful weather and dark nights are here. We'll all be sorting our gear out, tying our flies, and looking at the 'shiny' new things in the fishing shops! Then we'll be out doing it all again. That Mackerel was definitely the smallest Mackerel I've ever seen. Let's hope you get a few more and a few bigger ones next season. I hope Hilda enjoyed the bubbly and roses!
Well she's still with me 😂😂😂😂😂😂. Thanks dmp watching my friend hope you caught a few salmon missing your videos. Please God next year will be the best for both of us. Hopefully you will cast a line in your own spot at the back of the garden and have great success. Until next time cheers. Enjoy your tying of new flies. 😊
Thank you for all the enjoyment of your videos throughout the year. Time to get out the fly tying vice! I look forward to seeing you in action next season. ATB.
Hi Vincent always enjoy your video’s especially when you get round the fire at night after a days fishing, and your friend who I forgot his name opens up the back of his truck and cooks a feast fit for kings in all weathers. Take care if we don’t see you again till next year have a lovely Christmas with your long suffering wife 😂 and God bless🙏 Peter from Leeds
Hi Peter the honest fisherman Chris is the man who cooks all the beautiful food. I've lost weight not fishing with him. We kept hoping to meet up just never happened. Ships in the night. Next year. Please God.
Hello vicent i have been watching your videos for a while just want to to say thank you your vids have got me through some dark days thank my friend all the best
Thanks so much Martin. Thanks for your kind words a great comment to receive short but very sweet. Thanks a lot i do appreciate it. I'll be back before you know it. Time flies. 😊
A wonderful, beautiful, inspirational, fun and funny season it was 😊😊😊 I will anxiously await your return my friend... Could it be... I never catch many fish when I bring a net... or maybe...buy the flowers before the trip 🤣🤣🤣 Have a blessed and fun week Vincent... Jim✌️
Champagne and roses and running around the country after a fresh bit of mackerel? It's hardly a novel observation, but if the object is 'Happy Wife', as opposed to merely sport, surely a few bob thrown in John West's direction would do no harm? Sure, I've seen you come to the same conclusion yourself in previous videos. I know tinned, or vacuum packed isn't strictly 'fresh', maybe, but in practice it's probably just as fresh as some 'yoke' that's stuffed into an oul' plastic bag, and going around in the boot of the car... (probably coming back from Ballycotton or Cóbh, you'd be grand, but coming from the 'back' of Kerry with a couple of trout, I'd feel like one of these emergency - medic bikers trying to get the donor heart to the operating theatre before the clock runs down!) Of course, that said, I'm sure you have cold boxes, and all that stuff. You've a lucky missus for sure -- you're like one of those emperor penguins or something! Still, I recognise compulsive behaviour when I see it, and you, Sir, are like Wile E. Coyote going after that Road Runner in your pursuit of those elusive Green Tigers. I dunno about 'Mad', but you sure are 'committed'... to your sport/hobby! Speaking of compulsive behaviour, I was wondering about that light, and what it signifies. I've been given to believe that if you find yourself over on the 'bad' side of town, and you see trainers strung over the wires, or on street lights, and especially if there seems to be lot of lead getting thrown around, all that is a sure sign that if you're after illegal drugs, you've come to the right place! And, well, anglers gotta get their fix too. I'm kinda surprised there wasn't some shifty guy yelling *"Getcher* feathers! *Getcher* spinners! Whaddya want, my man? You after them shrimp? Right here... I got Bibbios! I got Ronaldhinos! Salahs..! Cantonas! Keanos..!" 😉 No... I don't actually fish, myself. Disability, etc, forbids (although that's not to say there arent plenty of disabled folks that go fishing, I know that there are, cos apart from anything else, I've often seen 'em.) But with that in mind, I'm no authority on dogfish, but as far as I know, they're just 'Rock'(salmon) - actually a type of shark, but perfectly edible. I've had it, and it's not, like, my favourite, but it's fine... actually, it doesn't taste too unlike mackarel! (Not sure you'd be able to pass it off on your 'Old Lade', though, but I expect it's been done many's the time in restaurants!) Besides, it's probably not the best fish for a domestic kitchen; this is a 100% guess, but I've an idea that while they _are_ good to eat, it's only a few fillets - a bit like the way they go after some sharks, just for the dorsal fin, and throw them back to a certain death. At least with the 'doggos', if I'm correct then probably the rest of them goes to the petfood industry. Unless of course there like Escolar, aka, 'White Tuna' aka 'The Sh1+Fish'..! Can you imagine a St. Bernard or Irish Wolfhound with a severe dose of the scutters?! Mmm, not so good. Likesay, I've eaten Rock Salmon, though, and I'm happy to report, I've had no issues! Actually, the nearest thing to it I can think of, that I've had, is Hoki. I dunno if you remember, Donegal Catch and a few others tried bringing it to market back in the '00's, but it didn't really take off. Maybe they shoulda tried the same trick as with the Rock Salmon, called it 'Tasman Cod', or something. As for the 'Rock', you used to see it in Chippers all the time. Course these days you're lucky if you can even get haddock. It's just all Cod... Cod, cod, cod. And if it isn't cod, it's _'mockiyah'_ (knock - off) cod... Coley, or pollock or something. Both of which are grand for what they are but your average Irish punter isn't too imaginative when it comes to fish; they won't be happy until they've the seas hoovered dry for Cod! (I wonder, do you remember there used to be a fish 'n' chip shop on Patrick St. -- Cork -- just next to the Savoy, back in the '80's, and they used to have 20 or 30 types of fish on the menu, although I expect in practice, what was available probably tended to depend on whatever the boats brought in... The place never seemed to get a lot of business though and unfortunately they had to pull down the shutters after just a year or so.) Actually as the Cod becomes harder to get, and even dearer than it is now (dearer than Salmon - Ye Gods!!) I shouldn't be surprised if Hoki and Rock Salmon both make a bit of a comeback..? Anyway, the phone's giving me a 2% battery warning, so you're lucky, I'm gonna leave you off the hook, no pun intended. Great video, _great playing,_ as always. Hope you pass a good off~season, patching your waders, tying your flies, and, you know, just doing whatever it is fishing fanatics do when they're not fishing. Or working!
Wow how do i reply to your comment. It has so many interesting topics in it. Brought back many memories of times past. I had to stop half way through reading it to have a dram for the chest. Thanks so much for your unbelievable comment. It must have takin a long time to compose it no doubt. I do appreciate your efforts. Mackerel are like moths and come to the light at night. If they are around you will catch them in the light of the pier. Anglers don't know this they all fish for them during the sunny day with their feathers and silver German sprats. But even in December at night you catch them while cod fishing if you put on small baits bit of mackerel is best. But the fact i didn't catch any in this video tells me there is nothing out there. Nothing. Don't remember the fish shop next to the savoy but i may have eatin there no doubt may have had a few drams for the chest beforehand. Just don't remember or maybe i was out catching mackerel by the thousands back then. 😂😂😂😂 Thanks for your great comment until next time cheers.
Enjoy your wife and bear through your hibernation Vincent. Perhaps next year we will see you spend some time with "The Honest Fisherman " and the gang.....
Thanks for your kind words. Its been one of those years. The worst fishing ever. I did something i never do i did overtime in work and not as much fishing this year because it was so bad. Please God next year I'll meet up with the lads more and have good food around the fire. Please God. Chris is a gentleman and a great cook. His pizzas are to die for. Next year please God. Will be the best ever.😮
Ireland joined the eu 😢 now the Irish Sea is fishless. Devoid of fish. The salmon and seatrout are fast disappearing from poachers with their nets. They're doing all the damage. In boats and up the river Bank in the dark at night. Its sad it could be stopped but there's money going around in brown envelopes i believe. Just make the best of what you have is my motto. 😊 Please God next year it will be better.
