@@Surfer041 it's bs. contact hitters are no different than high obp guys. the difference with this team isn't mentality, it's coaching and not being able to spend more money on every star we like. who is a "me 1st" guy on the team? Hicks? Chapman? It's not Judge and Stanton. Frazier isn't on the team anymore, you're being a snowflake because you don't like the big bang home run and the walk.
LISTEN IM A DIE HARD YANKEE FAN A CON ED KID FROM 167ST AND I LOVE THE YANKEES... FROM THE TIME THEY MOVED TO 161 RIVER AVE THEY WERE BLESSED THE HOUSE THAT RUTH BUILT!!! NEVER SHOULD HAVE MOVED FOR THE SPIRITS WERE WITH THEM AND IN 2009 GAVE US FANS ONE LAST CHAMPIONSHIP!!! You know. After the 1998 season. Bernie was a free agent. The Red Sox offered him a lot of money but turned that down. Bernie called cashman and asked him what got to offer. Bernie accepted the offer and remained a Yankee for the rest of his career. Shows an example he’s loyal to his team and willing to win a championship.
The Yankees been through a lot compared to other franchises. And still persavirede. Yankees always had the best strategy. Don't think about the championship. Take each day one at a time. But it's about winning. Try to win each game we play. George Steinbrenner instilled that year after year after year. The best team owner ever in sports history. Facts. Miss you George 💖💖💖💖💖💖.
I feel the same way…I cannot get over for one from 2000 not being made since they were going for the 3 peat, getting Justice, then to go 3-15 to end the season all the talk surrounding that and to then finish off the 3 peat….I felt it would have been another if not more compelling season recap for the Yanks.
Well, at least my Braves beat one of the New York teams in this postseason. Unlike 1996, I have never felt like we had a real shot in the 1999 World Series. 1996 was a huge disappointment. In 1999 we simply lost to a much better team.
1999 was a little bit harder but the yankees still finished the job. Also the losses of Joe DiMaggio, Catfish Hunter and 3 players lost their dads. The 1999 team won their 25th title overall. It would also be the start for Roger Clemens.
