And helped hide the bodies & dispose of evidence. Friends that knew & went to school with both her and Chandler testified off-record that despite what prosecutors said about Cat & Krista getting along, the 2 of them would often bicker & argue over small, petty things. Since Cat was Chandlers significant other, she knew that w/ Bart & Krista out of the way, she & Chandler would inherit the house, half of the family’s finances, and the property in northern Wisconsin as well. If that isn’t motive, idk what is….

IMO the real impetus wasn’t his 2020-2021 lies, and that’s why it’s hard to wrap a head around. Oh, for sure! I was hoping we’d hear more details about Chandler’s childhood from those closest to his parents, teachers, classmates, etc. Take becoming an Eagle Scout, for instance. No way Chandler put that kind of effort into anything he did. I suspect his mom and possibly Dad ( he was the scout leader, IIRC) , set every activity up for him , “helped” him finish projects when he was running out of time, etc. I think that’s how his entire childhood went. They didn’t want him to feel like a loser in the wake of Mitchell’s achievements. That practically new sweatshirt he has on in this interview is from a 2018 (?) school dive team 🏊🏻‍♂️🥇. IIRC , the family moved either late in Chandler’s HS years or just after. Was Chandler really on a school swim/dive team or did he just have an opportunity to get his hands on the dive team’s sweatshirt so he could tell his new friends he was on the team? Who knows? Maybe it’s the 1 thing he excelled at. I suspect Mitch was the quiet child, more than capable of achievements on his on. IMO, Chandler wanted the end results without putting in the effort. Maybe he had a learning disability . I just think there was some reason Chandler thought he could get away with the college scam and the jobs. Surely Bart and Krista knew something was way off, but I believe they’ve been enabling him his entire life, FOR SOME REASON . There’s something about Chandler’s focus on the dogs’ emotional disabilities that I can’t quite put my finger on . I know it happens to pets, it’s just the way he talked about it, maybe? IDK but it raised my hinky meter. My mom was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in her 20’s, just like Mitch. Unlike Type 2 or “adult onset” diabetes , Type 1 diabetics don’t produce insulin ,or enough insulin ,to sustain life. It’s a huge life changer. What happens when Mitch is diagnosed? Chandler falls down the stairs🙄and it’s catastrophic! I think Mitch is so smart, he knew he could control his lifestyle and meds , so he didn’t make a big deal about it. If Chandler had been diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, he would suffer from every possible side effect , losing his eyesight, damaged kidneys, poor circulation to extremities leading to possible amputations, in the first few months. But alas, Chandler only had to make up a chronic illness that he could use forever ( you are so spot on!), while also taking the attention away from Mitchell . Bet he hated that neck brace!

He imagined he would have their life insurance and all their property split between him and his brother and then he wouldn't need his parents help! Only problem is he had no foresight and he's a narcissist and thinks he's the smartest man in the room. He's not, and now his parents can't bail him out of his mess. Even though no amount of money would have gotten him out of prison anyway. Now his brother has a good amount of money and is set for life but he lost all his family.

He was young and completely stupid. I think it's safe to say he didn't think any of this through. Chandler probably assumed he'd just magically get everything that's theirs and didn't realize their money would run out eventually. It's so unbelievable how it didn't occur to him that his parents weren't filthy rich. It's not like they had an endless fountain of money stored in the house somewhere 🙄😒🤦‍♀️

Well, he managed to get Cat to pay for his defendants and food and phone bills when he was in prison, even after they found his Dad's torso in their(! Cat's mum's girlfriend's) garden(!).. never underestimate the power of manipulation and disassociation.. So if he is going to continue the ruse in front of the police that he's merely the innocent son of two missing parents he might wanna try acting the way people do when they have missing loved ones and that includes demanding to know the details of everything the police have done so far to find his parents. If YOUR parents went missing and you had an hour and a half sit down with the lead investigators trying to find your mom and dad wouldn't you have a bunch of questions about what they have been doing, where have they been looking, who have they been talking too? Chandler was still trying to maintain the charade in this meeting with the cops that he is the innocent son of two missing parents yet he doesn't add to the performance by acting the way people with missing parents do. He doesn't ask about the investigation at all. It's a HUGE fail on his part if he was trying to play the role of a heartbroken and worried son of missing parents.
