Great video. But EDT all the way. I have two backup bottles I brought back from Paris duty free. It's hard to find in the states so I grabbed them. They were inexpensive too. The EDP I have too but much prefer the classic.

Original 1955 Pour Monsieur has the essential projection & foundation which makes this fragrance outstanding. I'm guessing the concentree version introduced in1988 was introduced to be more appealing at the tester counter. I believe it's never a good idea to play around with an exclusive fragrance. I've worn both but the Concentree loses something for me. That said I would still wear it its just not up to the original formula in my personal opinion.

I've never tried the EDT but I own the EDP and love the fresh/warm/smooth old-school vibe, without feeling dated. Steady and quiet, easy does it. On me, at least, it's just... right.

I never tried the EDT (not sure why it's not sold here in the U.S.) but I purchased the EDP when it came out in 2016 along with the Concentree before they disappeared. Some say the EDP is the Concentree rebranded...however, to my nose, the EDP is a bit brighter/more citrusy than the Concentree. I image the EDP as being an updated version of the Concentree with some homage being paid to the EDT by including brighter citrus accords. But that's only guess since I have never smelled the EDT. Also, Pour Monsieur reminds me of Monsieur de Givenchy....not identical, but it give me that same sophisticated gentlemanly vibe. Cheers.

I smelled these both today on my break at work and the EDT is the better of the two for me, I'd never tried either before to be honest I don't think I'd even noticed them before. I was really intrigued after watching this video, im glad I watched it, thank you 👍🏻

After I tried the EDT vs EDP I definitelly loved the EDT and was underwhelmed with EDP. The EDP smells older, more oldschool than the EDT which surprisingly still smells rellevant and up to date in "ellegant department".

Chanel Pour Monsieur EDT is a classic gentleman's scent and definitely signature worthy. It is not available on the USA Chanel site. I picked up my bottle in Europe. You can get it at airport duty free shops or at the boutiques in Paris.

Unfortunately the new release of EDT lasts for 5 minutes and then totally vanishes. I smell nothing but lemon 🍋 for 5 minutes only. The other one is exactly the way you explained!!

I find the dissent in this video is much more interesting, entertaining and funny than most other reviews out there. With the vast majority of them, I'm left thinking every fragrance is 8 to 10 out of 10 and that gets a bit boring.

Hi Dalya! You guys crack me up. You must do more reviews together. Please...😁 Never sampled either version of Chanel Pour Monsieur so it's a tough call. I'd say it's a tie. 🤭 Personally I do not care much for overly citrus bombs. Therefore, the earthier, woodier and spicier of the two is the frag that I would ultimately put my money on. Hope to see you more often, Dalya. You certainly add depth and spice to the repertoire. Of course I love you Sebastian. But the two of you ignite on screen. I'm a little late to this video but as with most Chanel perfumes, the different concentrations are totally different formulas. The eau de parfum is more a fougère while the eau de toilette is a citrus chypre, which Michael Edwards actually regards as the closest current fragrance to Coty's Chypre.

The EDP is better than Fucking Fabulous. They have a similar composition with the vanilla and nutmeg/bitter almond. Compare them side by side. It makes you wonder about the Tom Ford quality when it just doesn’t live up to Chanel at all.

The EdP has a wonderfully creamy drydown with spice, musk and moss making it cling to the skin in a warm, sensual way. The EDT is much more citrusy and brisk, but a bit thin to my nose. They are very different beasts, but I prefer the edp. I think it’s more interesting.

Love them both. Weird, for me the EDT sits close to the skin & doesn’t really project but comes to life in hot weather whereas the EDP projects much better (and the concentree also reminds me of Tiffany for Men).

I prefer the EDP, which smells identical to the vintage decant of the Concentree I obtained a few years ago and compared them. The EDP is darker (although not really a dark fragrance), spicier and closer to a oriental spicy 80's take on the Classic EDT. There is a transparent feel to the scent of the EDP. To compare a visual it's like a light fog you can see through but to the nose. And, if you want a serious treat, splash on some Pinaud Clubman Aftershave before you spray on the Pour Monsieur EDP. I know what you're thinking...why would you splash on a $6 aftershave to blend with a $90 designer? Do it and thank me later. The Pinaud Clubman brings a more forward lavender and adds a powdery touch. I adore these when they are paired together. Smells better than either alone. I normally don't ever recommend blending fragrances, but this is a rare case where I insist.

Chanel PM EDT is the only Fragrance i wear ....been wearing it since the 80's... worn others since then but for the Past 15 years Chanel PM EDT is all i wear ...timeless classic. None of my mates wear it ... or even know about it and that's how i like it ......anyone asks me what i'm wearing.. i lie. Never want to wear what everyone else is wearing. I get a new Bottle for Fathers day every year ....lol i must have 4 unopened bottles in my draw ...always have one on the go

Would the EDP be best worn in Spring & Summer? I'm actually looking for something that will hold up well in the Summer Heat. I'm on the Chanel site and they don't sell the EDT. The EDP, based on Dalya's comments seems more of a Rich, Elegant, and Sophisticated Fragrance. I'm 57, and I like a nice Rich & Luxurious type of Fragrance, but the EDP doesn't seem like something that would be GREAT for Summer. What would you recommend? I was thinking about purchasing the Allure Home Sport Eau Extreme for Summer. Which do you think I should go for, Pour Monsieur EDP or Allure Home Sport Eau Extreme for Summer?

I have both, I think the EDT smells better but the performance is so completely horrible that I prefer to wear the EDP......the EDT doesnt last or project worth a damn on me. I also have the concentrate and from my understanding the concentrate and EDP was basically a name change....they do seem to smell and perform the same to me....I'm really surprised the EDT projects on you cuz its like a skin scent in 30 minutes on me unless I bath in it.

The Edt is gorgeous, but only lasts 3h on me. Recently acquired the Concentree (released in '89) which goes more into the oriental direction with the nutmeg and opoponax. The concentree has a somewhat harsh unpleasant openig, which seemed to be a thing with Jaques Polge as he repeated something similar with Egoiste. To my nose his son Olivier fixed that in the Edp, being more analog to the Edt, with better lasting power but indeed also softer projection. After all, the EdT is still my favorite but I would suggest for fans of this type of scent to look into Creed's Bois du Portugal.

I have a bit left of edt concentree from the bottle I bought in the 1980's. I must have paid about $35 for a 100 ml. I think the reason that your bottle may have a harsh opening is that the top notes either have dissipated or spoiled over time, depending on how the bottle was stored. At this point, I only expect there to be a bit of the middle notes and mostly the dry down with about a 30% loss of longevity due to age. After several decades, citrus notes are the first to go. I'm not sure citrus notes will last for more than 5 years.

This is what makes a great fragrance review! You 2 are great together OMG!!! The fragrance debates are hilarious. Keep it up. I’ve heard that Chanel is discontinuing the EDT which I’ve read on Basenotes. Noooooo!!! This can’t be. Sebastian can you look into this to confirm!

It was released in 2016 the edp and the one before was like you said and edt concentrate and chanel did the whole switcheroo to edp's 👍🤔 and I love the edp. This was a great video 😃😂

Oh I thought the EDP came out in 2014? That was when they switched from Concentree to EDP on all their scents? ;)

@@ThePerfumeGuy ohh sorry could be 2014 you could very well be correct I just know the switcheroo happened and I couldn't get the pour monsieur edtc anymore and the chanel girl said they did it to all the mens line basically and it was 2016 when I bought it sorry for the run on sentence.
