It’s looking great! It’s amazing seeing the slow buildup of colour, then comparing the part 3 thumbnail to the part 4 at the end and seeing how big a change it all made
The blue light filter on my phone has messed me up a few times. I have to make sure to turn it off when looking at reference material. Thanks for sharing this video, it's great when pros show it's ok to pivot and change approach
Love the dedication to color accuracy. From the footage it looks like maybe the original was a little more in the magenta rather than that warm brown/ochre...maybe the warm impression might have been coming off of the freckles on the chest? Also love the attempt to recreate the glow in the backdrop...too bad we can't paint in thin air...yet...
Yet. Very true :D ... glad you appreciate the work and thought that goes into color accuracy, there is more to come. I try to do my best that I can achieve at the moment ... it is fun, but also hard work for the brain. Yes, more desaturated Magenta and reds ... on it ...
This shows my maturity but not my age but couldn't stop laughing at the Suttle dick sketch at 2:33. in all seriousness though i have really enjoyed this little series and would love to see more videos like this. my trouble is not so much my ability to paint but i struggle to get in the right frame of mind so this has been great to see how you do it. Thank you sir and sorry for my childish sense of humour :)
I call my compressor "Bleauregard", pronounced "blow-regard." It's got googly eyes over the outlet and has a tendency to stare indignantly down from its storage shelf when not in use.
I sometimes call my iwata neo, "Keanu". And my Procon "Conny".. I have a few names for certain brushes.. my white crazy haired terrain dry brush is called "Boris"
