Superb explanation! I have succeeded in putting the correct page number on Chapter 1 of a book Wilson War Child I am publishing this week. I removed the other 7 numbers! I did not know headers and footers existed, and knowing how to remove a number has changed my life. I had given up, and was going to omit chapter contents and page number and have no pages in a new document, as I have done so many time before. Thank you so much.

Vey unclear when you click on 'Link to previous', because you double click on it and I did not get you leave it as link to previous or you delete it. Therefore, could not work for me!
