So, if you watch and listen to Daddy for a while it's easy to think that Luke is like him, then you listen to Mummy for a while and he is like her too! Basically, such an inextricable combination of both. These are strong determined people built for survival as their inherited lifestyle dictates. It's not at all easy, but the addition of Julie Montagu was undoubtedly a bonus 🙂Ultimately an amazing team!

I just realized this channel covers all my likes , art work, architecture, and history. Those are the reasons I keep coming to the channel over and over. Even if I watch the premier of the new video I will watch it again afterwards. If I could I would love to seat down with both the Earl and Countess and listen to all their stories. I hope the grandchildren do and keep the family oral history alive for future generations.

I love this room, the light, the panelling, etc, so was very intrigued to note that the color coming from the more left angle, stationary camera was much more saturated then the color coming from the hand-held camera. Which color is the most accurate? I like the stationary, bold reds and rich golden brown version best but see the pale rose and paler wood work as being the more likely . Absolutely lovely room and very much enjoy watching the Duke and Duchess rehanging pictures ...it's something that I can relate to on my own modest terms. :)

I realize that you have CCTV do you have them in every room. And I was wondering if you have ever caught anything out of the unordinary on tctv. Orbs are mysterious Shadows given the history of the house I'm sure there's something lurking about amongst the corners

Always enjoy the Earl and Countess' stories. What a great story the Countess told about recognizing Catherine of Braganza at Christie's. Deciding where the pictures go, something we can relate to regardless of our family histories, collections. Measure well. ("I wonder how wide Eliza is?")

I primarily enjoy this channel because I enjoy watching the maintenance the responsibility the upkeep of their lovely home property and all the antique and historical furnishings and paintings and everything else. Just the library alone is a-La-La for me. That’s very lovely. I enjoy the history of it. And lastly though not least is this wonderful couple. I like the English or the British’s strong grasp of history. I wish most people in the USA are but we are not. We barely know our own history. I’m one of them, but I’ve started reading more history when I turned 26 years old. I plan to do so the rest of my life. This channel is certainly inspiring.

Bluebells is the state flower of Texas as the bluebell symbolises constancy, humility and gratitude. One can find them from the states of New York to Virginia and westward to Texas. .

So excited to see the portrait of Catherine of Braganzo!!! I have been studying the widows of the British throne. Interestingly (atleast to me😁), King Charles II The Rake and King George VI both died on February 6th. The widowed Catherine returned to her homeland Spain and served as Regent for her King brother.

Liked these family effort videos. See what Nestor had in the woods to attract wildlife. The conifers don’t grow indigenously in your area so all the pipe for watering was a surprise. I can’t stop them from growing in my yard. Lol Thank you Mapperton staff and family.

There are native bluebells in the USA, found in the Eastern US from Canada to the Southeast, the species is called Virginia Bluebells or Eastern Bluebells.

The Royal family owes a lot to this family. It was the 1st Earl of Sandwich who carried Charles II back to England to restore him as King of England. You will find bluebells growing wild in the woodlands of Virginia. They are not native to America. I believe they were introduced about 500 years ago.

Y’all I love this! You are right over here in the states the bluebells are mostly in New Jersey, and Texas has the blue bonnet as it’s state flower…and as per usual in Texas where everything is bigger they actually look like a larger bluebell… spring is beautiful driving around as they are just wild in between the highways and in all the fields…even with the longhorns in the fields… flowers are wonderful! We love y’all! Keep up the good work!

Catherine of Braganza’s dowry included : the port of Bombay ,trade routes with the Portuguese East Indies,trading privilege in Brazil, and the port of Tangier. So, she wasn’t so poor after all being the daughter of the King of Portugal. Her only problem was the British didn’t like her one bit, for she was catholic. But they liked her dowry, didn’t they. It’s said she was the one who introduced the tea drinking to England too.

My ex's ancestor was Sir Charles Scarborough who was the Chief doctor in charge for Charles II. He was tortured before he died. He was given pidgeon poo on his feet, his head was twice stabbed with a hot poker, not to mention bleedings and potions he drank. Charles III should probably avoid doctors with the last name of Scarborough. LOL

What is sad is that the village council would approve an activity that allowed so much plastic spread through out the environment of Mapperton but they will not approve "clamping" at Mapperton, an activity that allows people to enjoy and live in and appreciate the natural environment because it is an "eyesore" on the countryside where as plastic is not just an eyesore but a hazard to the environment. How sad and selfish is that decision.
