Thanks for the update, I missed Zyloh's post. Would have been great if that change was communicated before hand but at least we did get a reply in the end.
Nicely covered. People immediately default to being salty about every change in the game, but changes are what leads us closer to the product. It's an Alpha, if we don't test new mechanic's, in this case mechanics that will lead us towards Quant implementation, then we will never get it done. So testing we do. Yes you may make a little less, but is it really all about the money? Or should we enjoy the JT crazy and consider any payout as a bonus?
I like this idea if they extend jumptown to be a much longer event, maybe something that just constantly happens but at a much reduced rate and profit. So maybe an off times it's about 2 minutes per box, but when it starts kicking up and the notice happens and the event actually kicks off proper it puts the spawn rate to one every 30 seconds plus the mission.
I feel like they are headed in the right direction with this, it was kind of like welfare money. I think it was bad timing holding JT during a free fly event where those individuals really will not be able to participate the way it is intended. I like some of your ideas. Some other things that came to my mind, is have a "crackdown" period. Essentially every hour, heavily armed NPCs circle around the site and attempt to take control for another faction. It would add this sort of PvPvE feeling to it. Do I keep these people around to help with the NPCs? Do I take them out after the ensuing scuffle while they are still recovering and low on ammunition? Will I have time to pull the packages out that were being made? Oh snap someone snuck in during the fight and stole all the loot!!! I think just adjusting slightly or adding a small mechanic or two would make this place very dynamic and quite a fun shooter, or strategy.
What do you mean do nothing? We had to fight over the location just to make money. You most have loads of time on your hands or better yet have plenty of real world money to buy everything you want. Events like these are the best way to earn real credits to quickly for some us.
