You have nailed it with the video. My turbosmart one arrived today from BDPerformance so got straight on here and found your video first. Don’t need to watch anyone else just use yours. 👍👍👍
By the way, Be VERY careful to make sure the ball end is fully in the allen bolt head when you undo these bolts. You can round them off very easily if you are not careful. Put some pressure into keeping the ball end firmly into the bolt head, and carefully turn and they will break loose. I got all my bolts out going through the U- loop of the brake line. I was on the floor looking up at it from left of the brake disc, using my right hand to push on the end of the hex key/ ratchet to keep it tight into the bolt head, and turning the ratchet with my left hand.
Had mine changed for a Forge version recently, heard it was a bit of a headache to try diy so just let SCC do it. You video makes it look easier than I thought though. 👍🏻
quick tip, before you aim your extension allen key//keys to the ballend allen key bollts that hold the receric valve, its best to use electrical tape around the joint/ joints of the extention allen key joints so they dont fall off when you are fiddling about down there.. as you seen in this vid, one of his extensions dropped off while he was fiddling about!..... great video all the same...
@@user-ii6ju6lm7w ha ha that's what I like to hear, cheers mate. That's the whole reason I started the channel, to show others that if I can do it then anyone can
Masters Mods noway mate, i love down to earth vids and people that are humble if you dont mind me saying, many youtubers act up for the cam and it does get tiring very quick. i really love to hear you speak of how you do things and would never call it rambling ,your car is coming on well now and i use your vids as my guide of what to do to my car next etc. ive started the work/customization on my st and im getting there slowly and hopefully tastefully aswell, i realy look forward to you posting a new vid and i can relate to you more than most youtubers, keep it up mate brumyz forever🧡🧡🧡
@@2e0msw really do appreciate that mate, big up the brummie 😂 tbh when i watch my videos back, to make sure they're edited right, I feel like I'm boring and think I should try and make it more exciting for people. I've got a few vids planned but the parts need to hurry up and arrive 😂 what have you been doing to yours?

Many thanks mate, I have all those tools apart from a hex key to chop up. Got one on order, had a look today while changing my wishbone, thought fook me that's awkward and came straight on here and found your video on it. Have a Turbosmart to drop in as soon as I can have a nice sunny day again, and I'll let you know how I got on. 👍👍
@@mastersmods Fitted the recirc. valve today mate, big thanks to you. I had the most trouble putting the new valve back in as it does not sit snug in the hole, kept falling back out much to my annoyance lol. I ended up using a piece of bicycle gear outer cable to thread through the top left bolt hole on the recirc. valve then push the cable into the bolt hole on the turbo, so locating the valve in the right place so I could get the top right bolt in and snicked up. Once one bolt was in and holding the valve in place it was easy. What a difference it has made to my car. Previous owner mapped it and the turbo just sweeps across the gauge when you put the pedal down. I think it was too much for the standard valve so blew past it. The car has noticeably more boost now and sustains it into the higher revs. I speed tested the car a while ago and could only get 130mph. I think I can get the rest now lol. Nice and grunty low down now compared to what it was. You are an absolute legend mate, thanks.
ello mate did you notice any diference in turbo sound or power when you instaled that valve and can you please send me link for that exact valve i got exacly the same car as you even the colour is same love my ford focus xr5 such a joy to drive every time i sit in it feels diferent in a good way.
I can post the link but tbh my advice would be, if you're going to take the car further ie stage 2, then save a little more and get a forge one instead
Hello this is better to change it? I have the original. Buy the forge dump valve. This has nothing to do, right? and what is its purpose? better performance? better sound? more durability?
@@franciscoleonbarcelosantan6303 you can blank the original one off but I think you would need to have it mapped out. I'm not sure about dump valve as I don't have that
The thing for me was, at the time I changed the valve, I also installed a group A induction kit so there was a change. I do think changing the recirc alone would change the tone slightly, noticeable but still only a slight change.
I'm still having boost issues Ford's looked it over put new boost solenoid on it didn't make any difference so they said they found lots of other issues though.what symptoms do you have if that piece is knackered?my car still only boosting to a 1/4 unless you floor it into the carpet then gauge goes clean off then I'm getting cutting.aaahhhhhh.keep the bids coming Ash
@@mastersmods none the guy I got it from said it has never been mapped but Ford's think that's the problem but unless I plant my foot in the carpet it will not pull past 1/4 boost
I’ve tried this twice now with no further developed. The bottom Allen tucked behind the shaft bearing cap doesn’t want too move and i feel like I’m going to round it 😭
@@mastersmods brought the wrong 1 by mistake I brought the PLUMB BACK version instead of the dual port blow off they look the same 🙈... maybe that's why I lost my turbo whistle 🤔
Its such a pig of a job, I would just suggest to anyone buy cheap buy twice.. do you really want to be doing this again.. and sods law it will be in the middle of winter next time!!
To be honest I don't mind doing it. I bought the cheap one as a temporary replacement to seeing it solved an issue. It did, so until this one causes me issues, I'm happy to run it
@@jasonhobbs5611 depends which one you have, I think there is a map on there that's better for mpg but I can't think of the name 😂🤦🏻♂️ might be performance+
