I love looking at the wiki for villager house inspiration. I used to do it for decorating their yards, and now being able to do it with their homes is so great. personally, I look at NL skills and goals, NH hobbies, and then HHD/HHP prompts and try to synthesise them into a coherent personality, it's so much fun
Nookapedia is better than the wiki fandom site, I said what I said 😗 I always read it when I redesign my houses bc I’m a crackhead. I always take into consideration their favorite colors, favorite style of clothing, “hobbies”, HHP dream, house designs, other info from past games and basically everything else on their Nookapedia page lol. It really helps filling in the blanks and making your characters feel more well-rounded! My island is mostly based off the AC movie, so I already have an idea how the characters are “supposed to be”, but I have 2 normal & 2 cranky villagers! Apollo has a b/w, red, rock n roll, band-party-studio house, but Wolfgang is is kinda rustic yet modern, dark green with walnut wood cabin/loft vibe! I imagine they’re probably pals anyways but it separates the two even if they happen to say the same thing to me lol. I also have to always have a kitchen and workbench so I don’t walk into their house and they’re using some ugly random furniture lol.
ok. let me say something that is no way meant as a way to be mean but I prefer when you build with 𝓁𝑒 𝓂𝑜𝑜𝒹 of the room in mind, just like you did in stream rather than this. I feel like you're having a hard time to get your point across compared to mood cubes. I think I've watched one of the mood cubes stream 3 times because of how effective this creative process helps you create something cohesive yet rich and varied. And it's way harder to add cool little details like the fish bucket in the shop mood cube or the screen wall in the cosy living room moodcube (and the moody lighting you achieved so well in these mood cubes), because there's so many things you need to add in to have a small single room look like a whole house. Bed, table, living room, no space for neat details. So I just wanted to state, first in passing how enamoured I'm with your personality as a post Tumblr girl (I can tell) and decorating style, but second that mood cubes are your most effective works and that in someway you should keep this way of doing when decorating and building according to me. (also mood cubes are cluttercore and I'm obsessed with cluttercore) Any way, thank you for reading my candid yet not very helpful comment but keep on working your poussie out babyana is what i'm trying to say.
wow i didnt realize until you mention it how effective mood cubes were for my decorating style! im SO excited for you to see the video where i used the mood cubes to decorate my house..... ;) the mood cubes were really helpful and the perfect place to start for bigger projects, not even just the larger rooms but even rooms of this size. i'm just a cluttercore lover at heart. i also feel like i struggle to decorate with this style in general, wish i could have gone with a different aesthetic looking back.

I have had so much fun renovating my villager's houses. But omg I get so annoyed when they don't recognize I put a kitchen in there for them to use unless it's placed kinda in the bottom part of the room near the entrance? Like if you don't put kitchen in the correct place they'll remove a part of the room temporarily to put a kitchen in if they're cooking/giving out recipe. Same with crafting on the workbench. I'm still trying to figure out the rules for how villagers use furniture in their own house...
I have neglected the fireplace for too long in my villagers homes. I’m gonna plan some cute xmas builds this winter for each of my villagers. P.S. You’re so good at interiors, Liss! 💖
