That stare up at the chimney. I wonder how many hours I’ve racked-up doing that… Thanks for the vid. I just had to clean-out those airways-What a difference. Buying a spare stepper motor now!

Dang thing they don't make crap like they used too. reminds me of the schick shaver documentary. make stuff to break so they continue to sell you more. Glad you got it fixed.

Everything has disposable parts anymore. It’s a shame. But, when it does fail, the fix is pretty simple!

YOU DON"T MIND ME ASKING WHERE DID YOU GET YOUR REPLACEMENT MOTOR FROM.

You ever get smoke back flowing through the scupper? Dealing with that now on my 760.
@RockyAcresFarmstead
@RockyAcresFarmstead Год назад
The only time smoke will roll back thru is if you have an air blockage somewhere inside the furnace. I suggest taking all air lol channels out and clean them thoroughly.

Thanks for the response. Cleaned the exchangers out, checked the chimney, dug out 75% of the ash from the fire box…been at it for 2 days. Can’t find where it is.

@@mikerudis2983 the primary and secondary air flow throughout the fire box needs taken out and cleaned. That’s where your issue will be

Thanks a lot for your videos. This is my 3rd yr with mine. I learned a lot from you. In the video, you cleaned the channels also in this one. I do not seem you went to the end of the secondary. At the end of the motorized elbow pipe, there is a mesh. Only fingers reached there. Or you can try to access through the 3 holes on the inside wall. In my case, that mesh was clogged with cresote, too. The motorized elbow can't shoot air to the secondary because of that. You can use a long small spoon. Also, I'm careful not broke the mesh.

What buttons did you press to test the stepper motor ?

What do you think a good list of spare parts to keep on hand would be besides the stepper motor?
@RockyAcresFarmstead

Blower motor, taco pump replacement cartridge, door seal kit, stepper motor. That would be my dream spare parts room!

Enjoyed your video, thanks for sharing. We just fired up our new Classic Edge 560 HDX three weeks ago. Still learning some of the proper operational procedures. We have forced air heat in our home. Curious to know what you set your low limit to? I bumped ours up from 165 to 170 with high limit set at the default 185. Thanks again!

I do a ten degree differential. I do 175 to 185.
@smitt76
@smitt76 Год назад
I change mine based on outdoor temperatures. When it’s colder I use a 20 degree differential and when it’s warmer I go down to 10. The shorter diff keeps the fire going better when it’s warmer, the longer diff prevents the boiler from cycling as frequently
@kdgiv2604
@kdgiv2604 Год назад
More differential = More down time = More creosote/tar. That’s just for my 550 Edge HD. I’m at 175/185.

Did your CB give you primary stepper error at firestar ?
@RockyAcresFarmstead

No. I had to troubleshoot.

The 550 I have gave primary stepper error on firestar. Changed out primary stepper and continued getting error. Turns out firestar controller is said to be issue from CB. Waiting for controller to arrive and will know.

@zebt3771 - mine showed zero error but the stove was choked off from air. That is how we troubleshot the issue.
