Congrats on the new team and good job tackling your first oil change! I change the oil on my 2020 Trail Boss so I knew those splashes were coming 😂. For next time, don’t use the wrench to tighten the oil filter, just use your hand. When you do it that way, you don’t even need a wrench to get the old oil filter off… you just need to get a good grip and loosen it by hand.
you never use a oil filter wrench to tighten a new oil filter. Just tighten it by hand, use your kung Fu grip, 3/4 of a turn after the oil filter gasket touches the mating service. Would not hurt adding a little bit of anti-seize paste on the drain plug to keep it from seizing up, or worse stripping out. But it was your 1st time, and you did ok.
I need a oil change in was skeptical about doing it myself but now I see u did it I’ll give it a try lol but if your ass had trouble getting the filter off I know I will lol
