Your videos are so inspirational! And you have such a lovely way of home making. It really is like sitting with a dear friend and catching up. Love the way you organize your space too. Hope you are feeling better!

Hi Bailey! Great idea for project bags. If you want to make them knitting friendly you could add two small fabric bias tape loops inside on each opposite side, with snaps. Knitters who do colour work or stranded knitting will love being able to snap each different skein through a small guide in order to keep the balls from twisting up inside the bag. I’m sure your sister could explain. Also the Worlds Easiest Socks by Arne and Carlos or Rose City Roller socks are great first sock projects! Good luck. It’s not that hard but it can become an obsession, once you’ve worn handmade socks you won’t ever want store bought again! Lol

Love the bags you are making Bailey- makes me wish I lived in NZ! Maybe you could get your sister to sell some of her knitting creations in your store too 😊. Thanks for another great video 😘

LOL I come from a family of women who move furniture around… We‘ve even had cases of people tripping over it next morning - my mom would get inspired in the evening 🤣 It‘s a free way of freshening things up, mostly. My granny did it, too. The men roll their eyes and smirk… Hope you are feeling better now, maybe you gave yourself some knitting time. Doing the top of your hat on dpns should set you up for future sock knitting. May I suggest you use bamboo or wood to begin with - metal is very slippery for those first few rows of knitting in the round, avoiding twisting your cast-on and getting a neat start, wood holds the stitches better. Or you could go straight to magic loop both for your hat and socks without needing to buy dpns, as long as your circulars are about 80-100 cm long. Anyway, good luck whatever you choose! I have to say I am surprised how popular my knitted socks are with everyone, in particular my grandsons, they are always thrilled 😳 One of them is 7 so will definitely look up that ant, I think he‘d really enjoy it. Great that you are setting up a shop doing something fun to sell, I never had the courage, but project bags are sooo popular I‘m sure you‘ll do well!! Postage seems to be horrendous everywhere, I used to love sending little care packages to my friends abroad but now it‘s ridiculously expensive (and complicated, too), such a shame. Only impersonal big store orders are cheap baah…

Poor Tobias. I hope he is back to his old self by now. When you were sitting on the couch talking about Tobias being unwell I was thinking your colour looked a bit off so I wasn’t surprised when you said you felt nauseous. When my kids were little I didn’t cope well with them having stomach bugs at all. I’d want to leave and stay in a hotel for a few days. Of course I took care of them but it like my maternal instincts would disappear because I had such bad emetophobia for probably about 20 years. I don’t seem to have it any more which is strange. Anyway I hope you are feeling better and that no one else gets sick. I LOVE that you will be selling your bags! I can’t wait to see your shop set up. The storage in the boys’ room looks so good. The room seems bigger with just the low storage. We had similar from IKEA for my kids when they were little and it worked really well. My husband doesn’t like that I move stuff around lol. He makes jokes about me doing it too. The meatball pasta bake looked really good. I hope Tobias will give it a go another time.

Of course I don't know what your hat pattern is like, but you can probably knit all the way to the end on the circular needles instead of switching to double pointed needles. You just need to have needles with a long enough cable. (I do this because I don't particularly like using dpns -- I'm always afraid my stitches are going to slip off the other end of the needle!) I hope you are feeling better soon!

Stomach bugs are the worst! I hope you got through ok. It’s so lovely you made a desk and craft space for yourself. I also have a small desk in our bedroom (my husband has a big one for work) and it’s so nice. I still haven’t hung up the shelving, but seeing this reminds me that I really should! I’m also very excited for you that you’re starting a shop. I would love to buy a project bag from you for my crochet or embroidery projects. Hopefully the shipping is doable, let’s see! Have fun and good luck with setting up your shop!

Wow! You have so many bags already for your shop! I can't wait to see them! I keep checking out sock knitting books from the library, too, but I've yet to knit any from them 😄 I did knit two pairs from the Crazy Sock Lady's tutorial on RU-vid which if you haven't checked her out go do it now! She shows every step and I was able to just follow along. 😊

Knitting socks is so much fun and not hard at all, as long as you have good instructions! I can recommend Purl Together’s RU-vid tutorials, the one on “customisable socks” is very elaborate and easy to follow so your socks will fit you for sure. Crazy Sock Lady has great tutorials as well. And if you have any questions regarding sock knitting I’d be happy to answer them! Edited to add: I would advise against DPN’s though 😂 Short (9”) circular needles are my favourite needles to use for socks.

Hopefully it passes quickly! Stomach bugs are a different sort of awful. 😢 I love the shelving in your room and you’ve now given me the idea to try something similar in my bedroom. I love moving things around but my husband doesn’t not. 😅 He moved a lot as a child so he doesn’t appreciate having his surroundings change very much. That’s ok though! Thankfully, he’s usually open to my ideas. Xx

You are such an inspiration! And our lives are so similar in some ways (even your wedding ring looks just like mine!). I will love to have a look at your store, even if it's too expensive to buy anything and have it shipped to Canada ;) I've been making things to sell myself and I am just so bad at the marketing part, I find it hard to get the store up and running. So, I wish you the best of luck with that project, and I hope it brings you much joy! Ps: I *always* get whatever my boys bring home from school/daycare :/ being the primary caregiver, it's our fate! Hope you feel better by now, momma! Hugs from Montreal

I hope you are feeling better. I seldom change anything around because I don't like changes. I avoid using cable needles if I can because I'm such a tight knitter and don't like having to pull the stitches over the join. So it's usually dpns for me. Have you seen fabric dpn holders? There is one free pattern using elastic instead of snaps if you are interested.

Hope you feel better soon, Bayley! That's nice that Mike doesn't mind it when you move things around. I've actually been wondering what his perspective has been since you became a minimalist. Obviously he must be on board. Was he always, and to what extent? My husband acknowledges that my decluttering has made our apartment easier to live in, however he gets decision fatigue from my frequently asking him if he would mind if I got rid of this or that. He also errs more on the side of keeping things than I do, and it does bug him when I move things, lol. Thanks for another great video!

Hi Anne, when I started to talk to Mike about minimalism in the beginning he really liked the idea. I don’t declutter his personal items but he doesn’t mind when I declutter other household items 😊

Hope you escaped the stomach flu unscathed. I have five kids and the mention of a stomach bug is terrifying. Sometimes, drinking 100% grape juice (for those in your household not sick) keeps the bug from making its way through everyone. I keep a bottle of grape juice on hand for when it strikes.
