I don’t understand why Channel 4 keeps doing this + the first one doesn’t have a announcer talking over the credits while all the other have. Not only that, but series 7 is retuning to Channel 4 soon during 2024.
In my mind, it's one of those credits you don't talk over. It kinda ruins the impact of the ending a little bit. Not much for me because the impact does still stay with me after it's done. However I can see why having a chipper continuity announcer saying "Coming Up Next on Channel 4/E4" could take someone out of it.
@superlegendary I like this episode on Channel 4. The only thing that can make it even better is: the ending not being disrupted. There is an airing of 2012 you have without the ending being disrupted.
@superlegendary do you know the reason for this? If they can display normal graphics on widescreen SD, can't they just letterbox on SD too? If they could do that, they should keep all the graphics in the same place, it's unlikely that people will watch on ancient tvs.
I mean, at the very least, they didn't babble during the credits during the first one and only showed the graphic. But at the end of the day, Channel 4 are just being cynical. I'll guarantee you if ask Channel 4 not to do something, they might just go ahead and do it (ie what they've done here). Speaking in respectful terms, they could have gone and promoted their shite after the credits, instead of doing it over them. But frankly, this hasn't made me stop watching the Simpsons on Channel 4 because of this, even if it is just being cynical to a T.
You’re gonna be shocked when I say this, but this episode is on again on Channel 4 on the 7th July at 9:00am. I guess series 7 rights and now back on Channel 4 from Sky Showcase.
