I went trough something similar when I was working for MBNA Canada, who got 'merged' (hostile takeover) with Bank of America. Got laid off. It's no ones fault until you find out who didn't get laid off and then you call bullshit. I'm sorry this is happening to you, I'm hoping you'll get a new job soon, that everything will work out and that you'll be back on your feet soon. I hope this won't affect your visit to TFCon Baltimore (I think you are going, right?) and when we meet, first drink is on me.
