Do you know the active ingredient in Chantix is Varenicline? Chantix is also known as Champix in some countries.
Chantix is available in tablets by prescription only. This medication acts on the same region of the brain that nicotine attaches to - the acetylcholine receptors. Chantix works by decreasing cravings and withdrawals .......and it does this by blocking the receptors so that nicotine does not attach to them. This decreases the reinforcement you get from smoking. Studies show that Chantix tends to work slightly better than bupropion and nicotine replacement therapies.

It worked for me. I only took it for one month. No side effects at all, now smoke free for 38 months. Update-Still good after 49 months.

ON MY 4TH DAY TODAY I START TAKING 2 I FEEL LIKE IT'S WORKING THEN I DONT CAUSE IM STILL SMOKING CRAVINGS ARE LESS AND SOMETIMES THEY TASTE NASTY IM ON THE 4TH DAY SO IM PRAYING THESE WORK MY QUIT DATE IS IN 4 MORE DAYS DO YOU TAKE THESE AT THE SAME TIME EACH DAY CAN YOU EAT PENUT BUTTER CRACKERS THEN TAKE CAUSE THAT WAT I DONT EAT BREAKFAST

@@teeyonaechols3934 I don't really remember what times I took them, I think one when I woke up and one in the early evening about 12 hours apart. Some peanut butter crackers shouldn't be a problem. I would read the package though.

@@chardnard Still good. It's been 49 months now. The key, for me, to stay smoke free was to just not buy any. If you think 'well I will just have one after dinner and that's it' you will fail. Don't buy them and don't bum any from friends. If you are trying to quit, good luck.

I smoked for 25yrs took Chantix I am 5yrs smoke free and I still go around people that smoke i do not get any craving it's like I never had smoked in life this product has changed my life for the better

Never had a problem with Chantix, my doctor told me to continue to smoke as usual when taking it , and I was like cool, I can still smoke while trying to stop, yippee 💃🤦‍♀️however on day 6 I was driving to work & realize I didn't smoke a cigarette at all, I went through my morning routine & forgot to smoke. it totally took the craving away BUT I wasn't grateful, I got a cigarette from a co worker, lol, and I felt guilty as hell afterward not to mention b4 I started treatment i was buying a pack a day, Anyhow I'm not sure why others need the full treatment because theres zero cravings. I didn't get a chance to start week 3 because there was no need too. I didn't experience weird dreams. These pills are a miracle but it's up to you to stop for YOU..the pills definitely take away the cravings

I've tried countless times to quit, I want to quit so badly. I'm on the 5th day of taking chantix. It's already helped curb desire. Looking forward to moving up to the big ones in two more days. I hope I will have zero desire to smoke. If not though, I'll give it more time to reach full effect. They say you should aim to stop smoking by the end of 12 weeks. Gotta be patient. This isn't a race, it's a marathon.

My experience tells me you won't need to do 12 weeks. For me, a month was all I needed. At the end of the month I was forgetting to take the pill and had no desire to smoke. Good luck.

@@88royalty88 the generic is still available it's only the name brand that they took off the shelf. It did help but now relapsed going to try again.

⚠ I had bad reaction to Chantix after 4 weeks of using it. I may have took it for to long though? Every time I used any nicotine it felt like my throat was closing up almost like the numbing spray for soar throat makes it hard to swallow. Never did fully close up but, even almost a year later after stopping using it, randomly if I smoked or used a vape the sensation would come back. Finally stopped after a year. Lasted about anywhere from 2 to 8 hours. And they had a class action law suit against them over it having cancer causing agents in it. So just be carful. suicidal thoughts, attempts and unfortunately for ever sleep have happened as well. I did go from 10 to 15 smokes a day down to 3 to 5 but I just switched to vaping after the side effects. Also I was a bit depressed more then normal.
