Even with dissapointingly static and barren poses, I'm more ticked with GW's inability to recognize the glaring weaknesses of terminators in the modern edition
@@Sup3rSaiy3n Ah, the major difference to me is when viewed sideways, the Mk. IV faceplate is protruding, while the Primaris faceplate is just flat. Then there's the minor detail that the Primaris helmets always seem to have a little protetctive ledge going over the "ears". But of course, overall, the two look very much alike! It's only detail-obsessed nerds like me who would care for such nonsense :)
They must of deliberately designed those terminators so you can't pose at all. Thank you for doing these videos as it shows what is good and bad about these kits.
It's an odd direction to take. Not sure why GW thinks it's good to have unposable models, apart from making people who own modelling saws feel superior.
Due to how plain they are to me and lack of options within the kit, I'm buying Cataphractii terminators and just getting upgrades from forgeworld (only the chain axes, combi/heavy weapons and some power weapons). It just seemed cheaper and looks cooler too me. This kit is just lack luster compared to all recent terminator kits and I hope this isn't Games Workshop view on models going forward
Of all of the traitor legionis astartes, the Night Lords are my favorite. I've been wanting to build a small striking force of them for a loooong time but never really liked the models until now. And every single video I watch on your channel gives me a reason to start buying them asap! LOL.
If they ever buff standard Terminators to T5 and 3 Wounds I'll pick these up. But right now they're just not that appealing, I like the new models but the lack of posing options is a shame.
@@Sup3rSaiy3n its especially great when you have the black legion artifact combi bolter called the Angel's Bane, rapid fire 2, Strength 5 Ap -2 and 2 damage, unless the enemy has the imperium keyword then its 3 damage.
Great video. I've been getting into the new Chaos range lately and decided to give the Terminators a go, albeit from Ebay as they were much cheaper! I actually really like these models, however when comparing them to the older models, they're really just a face lift to bring them into line with the current new additions. I can't help but agree on the majority of your points such as the monoposed arms and legs, a fairly vanilla composition and lack of/limited chance to individualise those units. Another sprue, heck even half a sprue to allow for more gear optimisation would have been great.
Interestingly, in NZ, they're the same cost as the Scarab Occult, Blightlord, or Tartaros. Other loyalist options are cheaper, except Cataphractii who are more expensive.
With a little clipping I think these ones have a lot more scope for variety than the old ones, you could rotate the hips a little (only a little because too much looks stupid) and all the arms could do was change their elevation, not really the great dynamic models that some people think they were. I like these models and I certainly dont think it would be practical to have every weapon combination for every Terminator in the box like some people do, but they really should be able to kit out the datasheet load out for sure.
Great video as always, I’m not really impressed with these models, the rest of the new chaos release were really good, however these were too much like the old terminators in my opinion, which looking at the old kit did they really need to bring out this kit? Other than the new weapons and poses?
Looking at the new kit vs the old kit there’s not a lot of difference, other than the new weapons, they had a chance to completely re design this kit bringing it in line with the blightlord terminators and the scarab occult terminators, maybe even the deathshroud terminators. Missed opportunity there I think.
These are Dark Angels Terminators 😹 Yup, needed another squad of Termies for my all-Deathwing army, decided to lightly kit-bash a box of these instead of yet another squad of Assault/Deathwing... they honestly became more 'bland', that's how i wanted 'em, to group in with loyalist.
Man I don’t know why but I love the intros to you’re videos, it sounds the same every time. I love living warhammer vicariously through you’re videos. They ALWAYS put a smile on my face. Can I ask a serious question though, do you have every warhammer model? I’m just getting into chaos now and I’m absolutely in love with these models! But this is kind of sad to hear that they only one chain fist, I’m making a world eater army and I was really really hoping they would have the multi option like most others do now a days
Man I was going to buy this kit but now I am on the fence. I love the sculpts even if they are a little vanilla, but the fact that they are still kinda short is a let down. Why bring out a brand new kit if they were not going to change much? Even the stats are a bit disappointing. It's a real shame..
They look really cool (well its hard for a terminator to not look cool) and the size increase is appreciated but the lack of options drives me out. Great video, specially the size comparison with other models.
I'd say the size difference between these and the Cata/Tartaros is definitely due to re-scaling. The Burning of Prospero box was the last major release using the old Marine scale, and they probably only did that so they'd fit the existing Heresy range (the Mk III Marines in there were already squatter than the Deathwatch from a few months earlier).
Nicholas Sinnett Is that your opinion or a source from GW/FW? GW/FW have released other models such as Haarken and HH marines that have been the same size as much older kits. Unless there is something official from GW I take a re-scaling conclusion with a pinch of salt.
Not the best set of this chaos release, totally agree. Although individual models, the poses are quite repetitive. Terminator armor might not be the best for dynamic poses, but still. I like the death guard ones much, much more and they have more variety of poses. Great review, spot on comments and great size comparisons. Pity that you don’t have the older models. These are certainly better, but they don’t seem that much different. Maybe it’s the tusked helmets? 👍🏻
Gotta say, they're massively underwhelming. The posing and accessories on the kit is really concerning I guess, they're really lacking and that's very disappointing
if you want to think about it. a custodian in america scrubs toilets. so there by "haha" funny. blightlords are the largest terminator suit if used during the hesery.
I got these when I first started doing warhammer and I didn’t know how to glue, they all look fine for the most part but the bases have glue stains on them everywhere.
For me this miniatures looks like it have been awaiting a release during some time, not mix whit the other kits, other new chaos miniatures have some primaris trophies on them, this boys lack them. I dont like the monopose the new miniatures looks like, this not a bad kit, but can be more better, imo.
@@Sup3rSaiy3n Not sure why raptors - they are pretty recent! But I agree regarding possessed! Berzerkers too, although I suspect they are actually in the pipeline.
generalxue I guess I will need to buy the raptors to find out. Maybe I’m spoilt with Haarken 😁 forgot about those awful beserkers. A shame as I love the new AoS khorne stuff.
Good video about a new edition of csm terminators no one asked for... And which isn't better than the old troops. Should I buy a few sm terminator boxes, before gw ruins them too...? BTW, this monopose, and what I call easy to build models, is against all what is best in working with miniatures..., customizing...
Thank you for trying. There are other ways to support the channel if you can. FYI it’s not down to EG but GW’s international shipping policies from third parties. Thanks again
Wow this kit is worse than I thought. Is it just me or do the old metal chaos termies still hold the prize for best looking chaos terminators? These ones may have better proportions than either previous iteration, but they lost in density of details, and compared with modern havoc and chaos space marine (the troops choice, give them a proper name already, GW), they look incredibly dated. None of the variation and organic detailing of their contemporaries. They just have the old trims, arrows and daemon skulls.
