Today I unboxed the Chapin ProSeries Backpack Sprayer. This is a diaphragm model for use with wettable powders such as Captan.

You almost need a Hubble Space Telescope to see those photos they show in their manual and be able to read them clearly. The manual has more in Spanish than it does in English. Maybe not quite as bad as most Chinese owner manuals for cameras and such, but pretty near to it.

Viton is Ethanol and Oil resistant and is less likely to get hard/crack from tension.

It will be interesting to see how it compares to the Solo in use. As you said, it’s good to have different sprayers for weed killer and fungicide.

Agreed! I spray again in one week, and can't wait to try the new Chapin backpack out!

Hope you can get some longevity out of that one. I had my eye on the battery powered sprayer just wanted to see if it stand's up to the hype.

Hi Eric -- Battery power would be nice! But I agree with the wait. let someone else beta test the battery powered units first! I'm holding out for a tank sprayer to pull behind my tractor as it gets tiresome to fill the backpack four times to spray the vineyard, but if I cant get a tank sprayer soon I may look into a battery powered backpack for next year!
