It's probably mostly the art style tbh. Hima's chibis always look cute and perfectly squishable, whereas the style used in the other one was anything but. I'd be really interested in a full body drawing. I still think the chibi looks a lot like the fan version, just rounder and with the hair parted ever so slightly differently. His hair even looks vaguely red.
Bonnie Aprillollipopp #TRIGGERED Hmmm? What do you mean? Sorry but I'm not a hardcore shipper... I watch Hetalia for the facts (even though they aren't all accurate) and the comedy...
I thought my country, Romania , wasnt getting enough love. But now that I see all of these unfortunate souls, I consider Romania lucky that it appears for 5 seconds in the anime
The reason why Tibet was replaced with a panda is because China is not on good term with Tibet at the moment and if they did end up putting him in the anime it could result them getting in trouble like what happened with the South Korea situation.
yeah i feel bad about south korea didn't exist in hetalia, i hope that Himaruya can remake his personality and design that south korean people won't feel agianst
Wonderful video, and very informative for newcoming Hetalians! Some add-ons (that no one asked for, but oh well): ~ Knights Templar is definitely dead. But it's notable that he died really gruesomely, which is such a terrible fate for such a charming character. ~Zimbabwe is suspected to be a girl, due to a similar looking person in an Gakuen African uniform guide That's really as far as I know on the matter.
technically, the Knights Templar didn't die, sure they were persecuted and burned in France, but a few escaped to Portugal and re established the Knights Templar there. It's now called the Order of Christ Oh and the French original was destroyed in 1317
@@andinapangestu659 If we want to go with history there are two possibilities: 1) He died on the stake burnt by the orders of France 2) Assuming he represented the Crusader Kingdom of Jerusalem, he died killed by Arabia
Doesn't matter if you're Mexican or not. You have to admit that seeing Hima's representation of La Guerra de Los Pasteles would be hilarious. For those who don't know, La Guerra de Los Pasteles is a war between France and Mexico where basically some Mexican soldiers robbed a bakery and ate most of the food (yeah, really) and then a lil while later France demanded a ridiculous amount of money to pay for it, to which Mexico responded: no way in hell. Thus France fucking blocked Veracruz's shore, which duh was bad, so Mexico ended paying up anyway. France's obsession with Mexico was pretty much hilarious, actually, because the country took every tiny opportunity it saw to freaking invade, like that one time when the president stopped paying the external debt bc first he wanted to set things right there. To which every country they owed just was like ok, cool, no prob. Except, of course France, to who they owed the least money. Thus war ensues, again. And btw, even though I love the Boss Spain and Chibi Romano series, why were they made like that? Mexico, in that time Nueva España (LITERALLY CALLED "NEW SPAIN") was nicknamed as the "Jewel of the Spanish Crown". Wouldn't it make more sense to have it at least mentioned? (Also, fun fact: the one who started the independence movement was a Spanish guy. Yep.) And what about the fact that Mexico only deals with their government through memes?? The current president literally tweeted to clarify a MEME once. But I mean Mexico only deals with their government that way because the government doesn't hesitate in killing anyone who gets in their way, and the main source of news is completely corrupted, which is pretty dark. TL; DR: get México in Hetalia, the possibilities are endless.
I always assumed Tibet was removed because at the time when that episode came out, the Free Tibet movement was in full swing and they wanted to avoid another potential controversy after the whole South Korea mess. I could be wrong though. *SHRUG*
Being Irish meself I agree that the first head is Scotland since he gives off that friendly and brave vibe Himaruya mentioned. Plus, he's ginger haha. Second head I feel would be Northern Ireland since brown is the most common hair colour. Not to mention he has a very good reason to be pissed off looking due to 'the troubles' not that long ago. And finally the bottom ones is Wales since I've heard of a stereotype where Welsh people are these blonde haired blue eyed people who sing and shit. Since as of now Ireland's gender is not confirmed, I personally think he's male. More to fit with the farming background and the passionate fighting spirit in the past. Just an opinion of mine!
Alice Kirkland I hope Ireland is a girl. She'd probably be moody around England (it's said that Ireland and England had a go once other twice). Plus, Ireland has Riverdance, music, and farming.
I really want Ireland to be a girl! I just want more females in Hetalia in general tbh, but I think Ireland would really suit being a badass female character. On a side note, I'm super happy that my headcanon of Czechia and Slovakia being brother and sister came true! (though their genders were switched haha. Slovakia sounded more feminine to me) I really wanted Portugal to be female too, but alas it didn't happen, though I do like his design. All I need now is for Malta to be female and I'll be super thrilled.
Hold up... In the character introduction chapter of Hetalia, it mentions that Roman Empire fell in love with Greece's and Egypts mother. If Ancient Greece is Greece's mother and Ancient Egypt is Egypt's mother then, put two and two together and... OMG, GREECE AND EGYPT MIGHT BE STEP BROTHERS! Wait, Rome is also related to Italy... ARE THEY ALL STEP BROTHERS!!!!?????
Romano and Greece are actually full brothers, Italy is Romano's half brothers and I'm not sure about Egypt. Just a quick note, none of them would be step-brothers as they are all related in some way or another (unless Egypt was the son of Ancient Egypt and another nation). Step-brothers are brothers that are connected via a step parent who had one of the brothers with a person that wasn't the other brother's parent. Like, a mother has a son with one man, leaves that man and then marries another man. That man had a son with a different woman. The son of the mum and the son of the dad are step brothers. If the man and woman have another child, that child would be the 2 sons' half-sibling because they are related to them via one of their parents
I literally died when I heard Scotland being 'nice and friendly' my fam and i love hetalia, at the point where we literally split up most of the world and ROLEPLAYED WW3. we need help point is the cause of 'ww3' was because of Scotland, we always thought of him being mean and ruthless and that's the reason why England was so hard on america and left him alone almost always. i'm gonna have a hard time explaining this to her XD
Honestly, I'm not entirely sure where she got the 'nice and friendly' thing from. Or, at least, he never was towards England. He suggested that his brothers basically bullied him his entire life.
Dear Slovakia, A toaster... A toaster!?!?! Seriously? I'm a kid and I know how to use a toaster! 1.get a toaster 2.plug it in 3.insert bread into the holes(separate holes) 4.adjust the the heat 5.push the button thingy 6.Wait for toast to pop up 7.take out the toast 8.unplug the toaster 9.put butter on the toast 10.enjoy!
I always thought the top of 'England's brothers' was Scotland, because of the similarity to the fan design. I figured that since the design was so well known, even in the Japanese community, that Hima was probably aware of it and took some inspiration from it when he made those drawings. Also Wales is occasionally described as the Canada of the UK. And the bottom one reminded me of Canada, so I assumed that was Wales. I really hope we get proper designs one day! >_
1:14 this Knighta Templar crashes with the Assassin's Creed version I got used to. I mean a very Angelic precious baby vs. People who want to oppress the world.. Yes.
Thank you for noticing Serbia! At last someone who is talking about it! I want to add that the beaten up Serbia looks an awful lot like the cute guy that was hanging out with Romania in that same gakuheta strip.
oh my gosh, I knowed everyone! Is that mad my fanatism?? xD even I was waiting for the introduction of Madagascar, a girly country who appears with Seychelles... man xD
Nice video :D I knew some of these but still a really informatve video ^^ Just one question, are Czechia and Slovakia Poland's siblings? I read somewhere and it said that they are. IDK if thats just fannon though..
Lol this is nice,I didn't expect to appear more characters lol. I wonder who are England's brothers, like who's who officialy. Btw,can anyone tell me how should I read the manga? Like, where do I start from?..
And there’s a Mongolia character from the very early artwork of Himaruya! Also there’s a myterious girl who appeared in Birz chapter 16 with Seychelles. Some people assumed that she is Madagascar, others thought that she’s not! Her true identity still remains unknown. I think this girl has also appeared in the 2013/2014 Halloween event, she’s the girl who is walking beside Seychelles when they arrived at the center. From what I’ve seen, I can assume that she must be a personification character of one of the African countries, but not Madagascar. Since she’s not familiar with ocean. She also says in the stripe that “Seychelles has bought a lot of juice from her house!” and “She has to transfer her flight through Europe to Seychelles even though they are both in Africa!”
2:43 -GASP- ... Really? I'm tearing? I'm tearing! A canon Latin American country! ;v; I'm not forgetting you Cuba, I love you so much but... ECUADOR -explodes-
