Here in this video Speaker Mr Sandeep Kulkarni has explained how to make Charge Calculations and also how to make late additions in grey cast Iron.
He also explained about his own made Late addition app in Excel format. It will help supervisors to get final late additions on single click to avoid manual Mistakes while making late additions.

Sir, is it possible to make casting without pig iron, only we will use different scrap and alloying element ?

Yes it is possible but it may not be having good metal properties due to lack of nucleation.

For alloys like FeMn , Cu , FeCr we can use same excel sheet. For design that is to decide what should be % to be kept you can refer my videos of Pearlite , ferrite grade and grey cast iron manufacturing.

Use late addition app put your present / actual carbon and required carbon , you will get MS addition and other alloys additions to compensate the same.

for calculating si% in video at 9:30 may be there is a mistake instead of (1.9/1.8)*500=528 but in video (9.5/1.8)*500=528.. maybe the formula was (bath %/required%)*metal in the furnance

You can use same sheet just by changing your bath composition as I have already put SGI RR and CRCA in same sheet so that it can be used for both as a common sheet.

before pouring take a sample of molten and by spectrography find the final composition and adjust by addintion of any lack.

In ferrolab, Si reading is based on slope adjested so there will be always some differences, Si in spectro is always more accurate than that of ferrolab.

Yes MD do have some C but it is in very small amout below 0.2-0.3% max hence not considered for the charge calculation purpose.
