You guys are so lucky to do this kind of hunting I'm only 13 and this is my dream hunt to just go out camp have fun with friends and enjoy gods earth I love watching you guys and it inspires me so much thank you guys for putting out this kind of amazing content 😁
What you don’t see the years of hard work that goes into applying for tags, buying nice gear, and doing research on areas. You have a leg up being able to apply for youth tags so use it.
Ok that puts things in the right perspective. This kid just said all the right things you want to hear from the next generation that gets it. Way to go Brian and Ryan. James, Extra pack of waffles for both of them on next hunt.
Just keep doing your thing kid 👍, just hike with a heavy pack and increase the weight very slowly over time so once the day comes that you hunt you’ll be ready.
Dream stuff. In my earlier years we did this kind of hunting. Maybe not quite so backcountry but the same hard work and adventure. Ausome stuff. This is real hunting. I can watch these videos all day. Hope there's more. Thabks.
This is now my all time favorite video. “I blame James” will now be my excuse for everything. This story is one that only video could make you believe. Absolutely love it.
I am 73 and think the Gritty site has the best hunting videos I have ever seen. Wonderful country, content and quality. I am blessed to see them but at the same time I ache with disappointment that I will never see that country again.......except thru you. Many thanks to both of you. I am VERY appreciative.
Although James was missed on this hunt, the lack of Honey Stingers and Spam in camp possibly saved lives in the G bear basin, haha. Awesome footage! Looking forward to the next episode!
I put off watching this for a time that I deserved a "reward" and you guys didn't disappoint! I was on the edge of my chair - talk about exciting! Well done!
My mama always said... "Sometimes its better to be lucky than good"! Not seeing those 2 bears come in will be the topic for years to come with the kids and grandkids but having it on video and being able to show them will be epic! Great work and thanks for taking us along with you! Can't wait for the next one!
We need see a new Gritty T-shirt "CHOOKA,CHOOKA,CHOOKA" . Love comradery between Call and Lampers. Makes for a fun and entertaining videos you just cant get enough of. Thanks for sharing your adventures
Once again you guys are setting the bar in the outdoor video industry. I'm trying to take notes to help guide my first successful bear hunt. I originally thought that the "chooka"s were a new unit of measurement for distance. I then realized that it was predominantly used in verb form. Thank you guys for bringing us along again.
38:01 - "Well that was a little nuts". No kiddin... That was so awesome! What I a great sequence. This is my favorite bear hunting video ever. Thanks for producing and sharing this video.
Also wanted to let you know I really enjoy the graphics you put in the videos. Showing where bears, camp, etc are in relation to your location and showing your routes really immerses the viewer in the experience and makes us almost feel like we were part of the hunt. Good job.
I have watched many of your videos, and this one is my favorite so far. I have enjoyed the comedic commentary, especially the Chooka chookas, lol! This has been a real treat to watch, as well as an inspiration.
It’s amazing how when adrenaline spikes, that blood is pumping or you’re getting fixated on something, that situational awareness goes right out the door, and more often that not, that’s when you need it the most! Awesome video. I love watching your videos or listening to the podcasts while I’m working out and dreaming of being on the mountain again! Keep it up and lets all keep our heads on a swivel!
I use to dread Sunday nights because I would think about the upcoming work week, but now I got something genuinely awesome to look forward to. Really well put together and deserving of all the attention they are getting.
The unfortunate part is im unable to watch these on sunday nights, however my mondays are awesome because that is when i get to see how your hunts unfold! Love the content!
You guys are making incredible entertainment for us fellow hunters. Im learning a lot from the knowledge-kit bubbles that pop up. If you ever want to be hosted in BC by a disabled vet hunter I’m your guy. Thank you!
Brian, you and Ryan make a good team. As you already, know it is very hard to find a good hunting partner that has the same chemistry. Keep up the award winning film work.....top shelf hunting and editing. You can tell both of you are genuinely enjoying the adventure and embracing the grind. That is what a lot of us enjoy. Hope to see yo on the mountain so day. Stay Gritty!
JEEZ!!! I just finished watching this and now I’m AMPED UP! I literally started squirming while Big Red was running at you guys. 12:21am and I’m more awake than I’ve been all day. Thanks for nothing, and how about getting some hats without holes in em’
Possibly the best hunting video I have seen. What a crazy hunt! Grizz everywhere and those two bears running into the distress call. Red Lightning was right there! So glad there was film rolling.
I keep watching this guy's. I'm hooked. I haven't tried to harvested a B Bear in 10yrs. Time for some summer sausage and pepperoni sticks from Taylor's.
So I don’t normally watch RU-vid hunting episodes more than once. I’ve watched this three times so far and freakin can’t wait between Sundays. Guys need to launch these earlier, as they are dangerously close to my bedtime but after I watch it I can’t sleep! Full of normal hunting “stuff” that happens. You guys amaze me when you go for it and hunt hard. Tip of the hat to you both.
Awesome hunt! Talk about a close call with the bears you didn’t even see! Kind of nerve racking after the fact! Can’t wait till next weekend to watch part 3!
These videos just keep getting better and better. I didn’t think anything could top the 3 bears in 30 minutes video but this one just did! My heart was racing.
This is one of the best hunting videos I've ever seen. You guys' way of talking and doing things is just so enjoyable to watch. Thanks for the great video, I'm definitely watching more.
Yeah, that was super cool. I was stressing hard that you guys weren’t going to see either of those bears and end up without a shot. I’m pumped it worked out. All three bears are big and worth taking. Well done!
I have often wondered how many White deer, Mule deer and Elk I never saw while hunting......You just confirmed it for me, A LOT. I love how you guys keep it real!!
Title for this Episode is........Blame James. PERIOD. Great chase, always exciting, maybe a little more on this one for having g 3 bears in situe. Always looking forward to next week. Keeping it GRITTY!
Wow!! That was some of the coolest footage I've ever seen. What transpired is something you hear about in a story and think......no way!! I imagine when you first saw it Brian you couldn't get Ryan on the phone fast enough!! I'm so glad you guys gave commentary on what happened too, great addition to the video.
Another stellar watch guys! My favorite line - "He's got shoulders. He's got ass cheeks." LOL Made me laugh. What a crazy scenario of events all the while being on pins and needles in Griz country.
What a hunt!!! why doesn’t this video have a million views Already. Best black bear hunting video I’ve ever seen. I love the graphics you add in and showing the distances. Great work Gritty.
Another awesome video. Crazy how things always seem to come together on your way to camp or home. Again thanks for the videos! And keep doing what your doing.
This Hunt had my heart rate going. Absolutely awesome adventure. It’s pretty awesome to see seasoned veterans like yourselves still out there learning from the mountain. I know that sounds a little cliché, sometimes I feel like we look up to you guys as the gurus of the mountain. But it’s true the mountain has a lot to teach us. Every time we go out that’s for sure. Awesome Hunt thanks for sharing your adventure with us.
God d*mn. Watching that bear start charging in knowing neither of you had a clue really puts the term tunnel vision into perspective. Never a dull moment in a Gritty Film and looking forward to the next episode!
This video reminds me of an elk hunt with my dad. I was around 6 years old and we were on an old logging road. My dad was using the binos looking across a canyon while I was looking at the herd of elk that was running 60 yards below us. He was completely oblivious until I said," Are you looking at those big deer?" Two hours later he returned and I was freezing. Such a great memory and it was nice to relive that memory within your video. Much better ending with this video. You have such high quality videos and I cannot wait for more.
I started watching this video Sunday night, but couldn't finish it. I just completed it 4 days later, and WOW! Unbelievable!! Truly unique footage showing just how wild the wilderness can be. How many times has something this happened to us before? Probably lots. I'm really enjoying this series, it's providing me much needed motivation to train and prepare for my elk hunts this fall. Thank you!!
You guys rang the dinner bell with that distress call!! I would have loved to be in the editing room when you were going over the footage Can’t wait to see what happens next!
That was SO CRAZY! Even though you were obviously pointing out Jet Black & Red Lightning with your cool graphics as they were rushing towards you guys, I was still SCREAMING at the video on my phone trying to tell you both where they were! My neighbors probably thought I had lost my mind! So intense and way cool! Y’all ROCK! Keep up the great work! I look forward to these videos every week.
Your series is awesome! Must watch material every time. Love the drive you guys have everyday to grind after each opportunity. Picking the trail over the truck is truly the gritty way to go! Keep em coming!
Those Griz give me the hibijibis, they are no joke (real life monsters). That black bear was running in fast too! That is pretty amazing, those animals are extraordinary. Awesome video as always!
Hahahahaha this episode KILLS ME!! What a nutty chain of events, days of effort for about 30 seconds of insanity, couldn't find a more accurate depiction of a MT bear hunt if I tried. Looking forward to seeing the next ones. Morgan and I enjoyed catching up with you guys for a few this weekend, hope to see you both at TAC in a few weeks 👍
Had a similar situation happen two weeks ago. See a good cinnamon bear on hillside, give a few toots on the rabbit call (which can sound like a fawn), get the bear to sit up to look. Another black bear comes out of the bush, 15 yards from me. Luckily for them, I already had two bears in the freezer, but next year..... Great show as always. Inspiring to see two people totally driven to hunt, and on the same athletic level. The right hunting partner can make all the difference.
Nice to see ryan got a new hat for the post hunt talk, same but new! Hell of a hunt. The suspense of which bear would be taken was great! Keep up the good work gents.
Man I’m loving these bears hunts almost more than elk or mule deer, never actually wanted to dedicate time from hunting deer tell now great job gentlemen
RIGHT ON!!! A predator call in grizzly country, you guys are great, please keep motivating this old guy, going on my first elk hunt this year thanks to you and others out there!
How crazy was that!!! I figured this would be a good one and it delivered. man you guys got me so excited for Sunday evenings!!! Great stuff keep up the good work!
This series has given me a new found excitement about the public land around my small town! I am making a plan to hunt it this coming season! Thanks for inspiring others to invest in this way of life and conservation!
You just made my weekend! I’ll be watching this tonight just before I hit the sack. Maybe I’ll be visiting el darado in my dreams chasing big bears lol. On a serious note, you guys have out done yourselves with these videos. Wonderful job!
At 19:30 after Brian says, “looks as sketchy as hell to me”, the look that he gives just says, “I don’t want to cross on that log... I’m gonna find a different spot.” Sweet video guys! Look forward to these every weekend. Just can’t find something to watch during the week that reaches the same caliber of awesome.
Loving the Epic Sunday Gritty Hour! Close encounters of the bear kind! It's a gentle reminder that sound travels in all directions. I've lost count of the times I've stood up from a coyote stand to see the one that had sneaked in from behind booking it to the next county! Keep your head on a swivel, cover your six. Stay safe, Stay Gritty!
