I have a suzuki kingquad and my plug looks the same. I used a test light and got fire on two of the three yellow wires. The red wire had a dim light like the positive post on the low battery. I just ordered a new rectifier, do you think it could be the stator? I wish I had watched your video first.
@jumpinggulley You should be getting voltage from all 3 yellow wires. You should use a voltmeter set on AC volts. Check it at idle speed and they all will be close to same voltage. Sounds like from what you are saying that your stator is defective. Might be a good idea to invest in even a cheap volt ohm amp meter. Hope this helps. Thanks Steve
Hi, We have a 2005 Bombadier BRP Outlander. 400 ATV. The stator went on it, so had a new one shipped. It is smaller than the one that came out. Have they upgraded the stator and flywheel? Do we have to change the flywheel? Having a problem starting now. They swear it is the right one and won't deal with us any more. We originally sent the stator to be re-wound, but it came back with one dead side. So finally sent a new one.
+sandra berthelot..... Sorry to hear all the problems Sandra. There is no way for me to know if they had a size change. If you can find out what the stator fits you could sell it on ebay and get most of your money back. You can type in ATV stators in a search and find several companies that deal only in motorcycle and atv stators. That's where I would start if it was mine and these people could answer the size change questions also. I pray you get it all taken care of.
I did the checks in your video ...There was no power at the plug. Where are the fuses located on the ATV? Once I get power to the plug and everything checks out does this mean my voltage regulator is bad???? thank you for your help...god bless
If it blew the fuse I would think the regulator is bad, however I would try a new fuse first. Usually you can download an owners manual from the manufacturer's web site for free. Should have the fuse locations in it. You also can try to follow the wire back. May the face of YHWH shine on you.
I was able to download a manual to find the fuses. Once I found them I put a new fuse in ,plugged up the regulator and it instally blew . The regulator looks to be burnt on the back side. I ordered a regulator and will be here next week. thanks for your help
@nxtcmgr.......Its going to be impossible on the Bombardier because it uses a 12V DCI ignition. therefore you will need a power source of some kind. There are many ATV's that use a magneto type ignition and dont require any power source.
Awesome video&voice. I got a problem on my 2004 outlander, It started running strange and then died, no electric power and won't run. The startmotor has been acting up a little a while before this happend , it just stopped working like once or twice a day, tap on it a little and it would start working again, any idea where i should start looking for errors? I mean it should run without battery, right?
Gasrullen You need a battery in that model to run. I would check the battery, fuses, and as many connections as you can find. After that you will probably need a service manual to diagnose the problem.
There are so many possibilities I would be afraid to guess. I would recommend you to invest in a service manual if you want to diagnose it yourself. Even the best techs are lost without specs.
+Roberto Ortiz..... You need to remove the switch and there will be a number printed on it somewhere. Some dealers have a machine that can cut keys by the numbers. Usually only the larger dealerships have the machine to cut by numbers. If you don't have any luck with that then you will need to order a new switch.
+steve10391 My friend, thank you very much for your prompt response, I understand and taking advantage of your kindness, it will be possible to give me a dealer to send me a new switch with keys to Mexico? thanks again
+Roberto Ortiz Try this link to dealers in Texas. You can email them and ask if they can ship to you. Hope you can find one. www.powersportsdealerlocator.com/dealerlist/Texas/Can-Am
