Today I attempt to charge the AC on my 1994 Chevy OBS C2500 pickup. I’ve never done this before and will be learning as I go.

This gives me hope for my '94 that I'm about to restore. How did it hold up?

I still have a slow leak but it lasted at least 6 months. I recharged it again this summer and it still blows cold. Recharging every summer is still cheaper than having it done at a shop.

Bout to try this on my 94 1500 🤘🏼 does that can have the stop leak in it also?

Yes, that particular product has the stop leak in it. I used a different brand without stop leak this last summer and it seemed to last just as long. Hope it works out for ya!

Where does the condensation drip out from? I hear water behind my dash on the passenger side?

I’m not 100% sure but I think that’s where the heater core is. I’ve definitely heard that before too.

Does the Cheyenne package como with a/c?

This one did. I don’t know about 94, but when I started working at the dealership in 97 even the most basic fleet/work vehicles came with a/c standard at that point.

@@DunnDifferent oh ok it’s because i have a 94 k3500 Cheyenne in a ranch and it’s not that bad but because of all the dirt some cables are messed up and the a/c won’t turn on even though the truck has vents

As long as it’s 134a and not r12. I don’t know it if they make one for r12. I’d check with your local parts store and see what they have and recommend. You might need to convert the system over to 134a if it’s still r12.

Was that one can all the freon these truck take?

I think it calls for close to two cans but my system wasn’t completely empty.

First of all it would not evaporate out, it would leak out of the valves. 2nd- charging your system with that entire bottle and the compressor does not turn on, doesn't necessarily mean your compressor is bad. Could be a bad low pressure switch, bad high pressure switch, clogged orifice tube, or a bad compressor. Most guys at o'riellys don't know jack shit, and there computer system is constantly listing the wrong parts for a wide variety of vehicle makes and models
