Baffles me how Mrs Brown’s Boys gets on the tele yet there’s stuff like this which is genius, and isn’t. All the actors involved are fantastic; particularly Vera.
I agree. I have watched a few episodes of Mrs Brown's Boys and I have yet to laugh. But this Charity Shop Sue is magnificent. Her facial expressions are spot on.
I worked as an Assistant Manager at a chazza shop for a year and I can assure you this is UNBELIEVABLY accurate! Aaaaghhh!! From the deluded, megalomaniac manager overpricing tat like cottage-shaped teapots to the hapless volunteers (albeit with good hearts). It's funny af but it's giving me flashbacks! Like a Midlands Kath & Kim, it should defo get it's own show...
I worked as a volunteer on a Saturday (I had a full weekday job too but this was something I enjoyed doing to help the community). I was a manager in my weekday paid job and a unpaid volunteer at the charity shop. I was talked down to as if I was mentally challenged, by the manager who struggled with managing the shop and any feedback about her shop was taken as an insult. One time I was taken to the shop floor and told how to sort the books alphabetically........ I've successfully managed a team of 15 in a financial sector for many years but this show is incredibly accurate to my personal experience 🤣
This is the type of show all my family would watch on the bbc whilst everyone’s eating and I ask my dad for a cuppa tea and he gets annoyed because he’s gonna miss part of the show
It’s the “ger in nar ladies, ger in narrr!!!” This show is brilliant! Mrs Merton, meets Little Britain. Sue and the staff ROCK!! “Made me feel badly” 😂😂😂 She reminds me of Aunty of mine. I hope this show gets picked up!!👏👏❤️
Absolutely fantastic - it's a shame this wasn't picked up by the BBC, Channel 4 etc. Considering some of the drivel that's on television, this would have made a terrific mockumentary.
This is so perfect. I love seeing a real life character brought to life. I go to the charity shops often with my mother and this is the exact atmosphere. You can hear her throughout the shop.
Charity shop sue does not get the recognition deserved. Such a legend and an amazing series. I really do hope there will be more series coming it would be such a pity. Longer episodes also, someone needs to snatch them up!
Oh wow - this is incredible Sue, bloodeh loveleh... this is giving me all the Nottingham dialect I need in my life and making me feel really homesick. Love yah all the way from Tokyo x
Tiktok also brought me here and I can not believe I'm just now meeting sue! I'm so excited to watch EVERYTHING - All I know is I NEED SUE in my life! Iconic from only 30's of watching!
How have I ONLY just found this! Comedy genius!!! She reminds me of "The Queens Of Pop" drag queens, they do a parody of Lorraine Kelly and they have the same almost manic laugh 😁
I used to volunteer in a Compton Hospice and the manager, Clare, was just like this - same hair style too! How has this not been made into a proper TV show!? This could be up there with Job Lot!
This is so iconic ❤️ I have rewatched it over and over, Sue is an icon!!! I've worked with so many women like her 😂 I need a series 2 like I've never needed anything else in my life before, comedy GOLD
From someone who use to work in a charity shop this is hilarious and it’s a bonus to give us lot in the midlands some attention! Future bbc three show? 😍😍
