This playoff performance by Barkley never gets mentioned when lists are put together for greatest playoff performances of all time. How can a 44pts 24 rebound performance in a conference finals game 7 (To get to the Finals!) Not make any said lists? What's funny is you see LeBron James all up and down those types of lists, but I would put this performance up against any playoff performance in LeBron's career!! And furthermore..in game 5 of this same series, he had a 43pt, 15 Rebound, 10 Assists performance.. equally as impressive!
@darrenneal7245
@darrenneal7245 2 года назад
You want to know why .... Because, when you are controversial, and don't pucker up ..., they downplay your performances .. That is why Karl Malone is rated higher than Charles, as a player .. I say, "GTFOH" ... Just look at their overall skills, and do the eye test

Charles doing this against Shawn Kemp just showed what a beast he was. He had a motor that wouldn't stop. Granted, Kemp didn't really peak till about '96, but he was good at this point. Barkley was the best forward in the game at the time this game was played... and he was only about 6'5". This is back when men used to play in the NBA.

To be fair Roman made he work hard for those boards and points. In addition, chuck was a first option efficient and great scorer so there wasn’t as many boards to grab when Chuck shot. That being said Dennis prevented Barkley from going off and taking over like he could when needed. Chuck was the type of player to go for 40 grab 20 rebounds, get a few steals and blocks if it was a must win game.

Suns, Sonics, rockets in west and Bulls, Knicks, Cavs in the East..You could probably add Portland in there..take Jordan and the bulls out of the equation and you had 5 championship teams...the Jazz were also strong and Celtics were decent..strong TEAMS..modern NBA doesn't compare any of these teams would steam roll the league now.

The 90s was the peak of nba havin the most best teams that eva was. Suns were the best they ever was, the sonics was the best there ever was, the lakers were the best they ever were especially if you carried whay they did in the 80s with them, the celtics was the best they ever will be, the hawks was the best they ever could be, even the cavs of the 90s might have beaten. The cavs of 2016(maybe). We will give it to the cavs of 21 century but close. The rockets was the best they ever be, the warriors was best they ever be but you gotta give it to the 21 centu warriors. The jazz was the best they ever be, the kings was the best they ever be but had to take that same 99 team into 2002 but they had the same damn team an talent in 99. The bulls was the best they ever be, the knicks was tha fuckin best they ever be, the orlando fuckin magic was the best they ever be!!!! I give it to heat of 21 century but the heat was the best they ever be. The clippers was the worst they ever be so clippers in 21 century got improvment. Fuck the raptors an grizzlies of 90s cuz the didnt start till 96. The spurs was the best they ever be the 1999 spurs blew the season up an fuckin sweep threw playoffs like nothin, the pistons was the best they ever be the 1990 pistons. He was not as athletic as in the 5 first Sixers seasons..man this guy was a total fright train back then..they used to call hin rolling barrel of thunder or dynamite when he was going coast to coast whitch was something he really liked to do..there is a game with the celtics where he splits 3 bigs from within and gets the rebound while they all go off sideways like trees that are falling..Even the commentators take notice and comment the over powering of three bigs flying in all directions while charles emenrges from unseen from the middle and grabs the ball!

Barkley was simply AMAZING in the '93 Playoffs and Finals included. Unfortunately, for him he ran into the Greatest player of All-time... Side note: Kevin Johnson and Tom Chambers should be in the HOF.

Imagine Barkley playing stretch 5 in the league today. He would be a way better version of Draymond.

goddamn Barkley utterly dominated Kemp. Took and rebound from him then put him in the weight room disqualifying Kemp from the game. I forgot about this omg

Someone needs to force Deandre Ayton to watch this, very carefully. Perhaps he’ll learn how to play with attitude instead of playing like a down pillow.

Barkley was so lethal with his strength, explosiveness and long arms. The Sonics could hardly get a rebond off him in this game. And that dunk at 4:46 he nearly tore the rim off . just look at those replays!

Man, what a great game and series. Seattle was really good but Chuck put the team on his back in Game 7 and refused to lose. So much fun to be a Suns fan back then.

He wasn't in decline in 93. It was his 9th season in the league, and up until that season, it was his 4th best year for scoring, and 4th best year for rebounds. Hardly the stats for a player in decline. He started declining in 96-97 when he went to Houston. Look at the numbers.

And all you millenials wonder why this guy talks so much? Has so much to say? Charles Barkley, when it counted left it all on the floor! He was a BEAST who was undersized, but "A VERY POWERFUL YOUNG MAN"! I'm talking about *Natural Strength*, not weight room strength. Power, Strength, Quickness and Agility! Able to jump with 7 footers, and Get Up Quicker and they'd land before him! Look at the last foul on Shawn Kemp. That's just sheer power and strength! Remember the Terminator? "HE CAN'T BE BARGAINED WITH! HE CAN'T BE REASONED WITH! HE DOESN'T FEEL PITY, OR PAIN OR REMORSE, OR FEAR AND HE ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT STOP UNTIL YOU ARE _ _ _ _ !!!!!! 44 AND 22! AMAZINGLY POWERFUL 💪 ATHELETE WITH A WILL AND DESIRE TO CONCUR EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE IN FRONT OF HIM 👊💥🏀💯...

Barkley should have won it in 1990, he had more first place votes than Magic, but Magic won it anyway. Most skilled PF of all time. I know Duncan and Malone were better in their mid 30s, but not better than a prime Chuck.
