It's really noticeable how he just runs back up the court after he scores, even when he dunks on guys. No flexing, no yapping. For a guy who's known for being outspoken, it really stands out.

Those of us who remember when Chuck was "SIR" Charles Barkley know that he was a BAD MAN on the court. All you need to know is that this man won the MVP during Michael Jordan's PRIME. Arguably the greatest player to never win a chip. The man never had a single season where he DI NOT average a double-double. The dude averaged 14 boards in one season FOURTEEN. And the fact is that he was SMALL for a power forward at 6 foot 6 - and we're talking in the middle of the "big man" era. And the fact that he STILL dominated was crazy to watch. He was as dominant a power forward as Shaq was a center and that's no exaggeration. I really wish he would have won a chip - imagine all the comedy we missed out on simply because he didn't win a ring lol. I grew up in NYC and back then we didn't have social media or RU-vid to watch clips. We had the late news sports clips, usually a montage of all the best plays from around the league depending which sport was in season. Even though Charles played for Phillie and we were in NY, if you watched the sports news then 9 times out of ten you would see Charles on the "highlights from around the league" segment. He was always doing something spectacular or just downright funny and entertaining or sometimes just plain MEAN. You just weren't going to lock up or cook Charles, it wasn't happening. A prime Charles was just a scary player.

His prime years 1984-1992 were on an aging Sixers team and a front office which did squat once the aging superstars retired or got traded. His years were the suns -> they had amazing team success and for three years straight they went deep into the playoffs and lost to the eventual NBA champs, the Bulls and the Rockets. Barkley played hurt through the first loss to the Rockets, but the second series they should have won. Problem with Suns was that they had no defense and it was just an all powered offensive team so they were missing a few key pieces. That being said Barkley in his prime years never played with another HoFer ... Kevin McHale is on record saying that if he played for the sixers they would won 3 rings, which I agree with.

Everybody says Charles was fat, but really he wasn't. He just had an odd build. His lower body was just thick. The man was amazing how explosive he was getting off the floor from basically a standing position at 260lbs.

He was definitely fat at times throughout his career. But not always fat.

Charles was awesome at 6'5! If he had a few more inches and bigger hands, he would have been more unstoppable than Mike in the same era! He was great even being undersized back in the 80s and 90s
