bluedollars You know nothing about basketball lmaoo. Hakeem carries his team to the finals in only his second year. Losing to the Boston Celtics. If MJ admitted the Rockets would’ve been their toughest competition. Hakeem top 2 most skillful players of all time
@Jack Burton Barkley was a mediocre defender but certainly did try and unlike Harden, he made to the finals. He spent most of his prime playing on terrible 76er teams. He had his limitations but don't sell him so short. Offensively, he was better and more versatile than Malone.
@Jack Burton I never said Duncan and Malone weren't better defensively. Just that you were selling Barkley short and that Barkley was better at least in his prime offensively. Also, Harden was generally considered third best or so on that team. He had an MVP to help him get to the finals and wasn't their biggest contributor at all. Barkley finally had some good players in Phoenix but was clearly the number one guy
No one who watched the game in his prime years underrates him. He was always considered a top 3 player, next to Jordan, then probably Karl Malone and a few others.
Scoring Machine Scoring Machine the 12th best player on teams also get rings. Doesn’t mean they are better than superstars who don’t have rings. By your logic Draymond green and LeBron James are equal because both have 3 rings
I don’t see how ppl compare Draymond to him. Draymond barely average double digit points and has the luxury of getting a lot of assists for passing it to the 2 best shooters in the NBA
JaylenBrownHighlights Draymond is a better shooter? Teams force Draymond to shoot because that is not something he does well. When did teams ever just let Barkley shoot?
George Bran he’s one of the best defenders in the league, he has the iq up there with steph and lebron, if you think dray would be a bum without the warriors you don’t know basketball
Barkley should have won MVP in 1990 (this was his prime year when he was so explosive), he got more 1st place votes, but Magic won it because Barkley's team was not as good.
@@powerboatguy2308 Magic won it because Magic was more valuable. Barkley had a career year...Magic took an aging Lakers team to 63 wins and was great even in defeat against the Suns (wasn't his fault Worthy was a no show...Magic had 43/9 and 43/8 the last two games of that series).
He literally pulled the Suns to beat Seattle and go against the Bulls next, just to give Jordan a very hard time. The Suns almost had that series. The score of the deciding game was 99-98. Barlkey is the undisputed MVP that season. No question.
@@JM-tj5qm I don't know either. They both are very similar. Somewhat small, but beefy and strong af and have a huge presence in the paint for their size. Kind of play the same game.
Scoring Machine the 12th best player on teams also get rings. Doesn’t mean they are better than superstars who don’t have rings. By your logic Draymond green and LeBron James are equal because both have 3 rings
Scoring Machine hmmm ok let me try to simplify it for you. Do you think Draymond green is a better player than Charles? If so, please explain your reasoning WITHOUT using rings
Back then we were coached to only take high percentage shots. Threes could get you benched. Go to the hole, make your free throws. Most guys knew they had to hit an open 12 footer. Also floaters and use of the glass. The game now is similar, just stretched out. Ive been watching alot of 80s NBA lately
Galatasaray 1905 Barkley has a great personality what? People definitely hate on him because he doesn’t have a ring. Iverson was an icon in the early 2000’s that’s why people loved him. He was a unique skill set and fun to watch. You have to think it was post Jordan era so all eyes were on the next guy and everybody thought iverson was that guy. Charles and others greats in the 90’s unfortunately lives in Jordan’s shadow because he was the NBA’s dad. He literally carried the NBA after prime time Lakers and bird retired and that’s why guys like Barkley, Olajuwon, Ewing etc were so underrated and under appreciated. You don’t know what you’re talking about.
Charles Barkley was unreal. How tf was this guy so fast? How is it that lebron can't average 8 boards but charles averaged 12 for his career and was 3 inches shorter. This guy is top 20 all time in my book. Probably the best player to never win
He was unreal, you’re right. But why bring LeBron into this again? Man.. The same dumbass logic: “How is it that Charles couldn’t average 4 assists but LeBron averages 8 for his career and is 3 inches taller” They clearly played in different eras and played way different positions..
@@basmets Not only that he factually was incorrect because Bron has average 8 rebounds multiple times. Also averaging 8 currently in his 19th year. Just a silly comparison all round
@@anthonydoesgaming9184 nope. Back then basketball is basketball, physically intense and interesting to watch Now, they're all crying babies always complaining.
Draymond's table: Robert Horry, Mark Madsen, Derrick Fisher, Luke Longley, Bill Cartwright, Horace Grant, and Glen "Big Baby" Davis Barkley's table: AI, T-Mac, Ewing, Reggie, C-Webb, Karl Malone, John Stockton, Steve Nash, and Run TMC!
Before this man became over weight and ate donuts every day. He could do anything and everything on the court. He's one of them players who deserved a ring.
@@TheIcemanthomas another idiot using numbers in a sport. STFU about the numbers idiot. you never watched him play besides youtube vids and wiki numbers. IDIOT
I miss this NBA. Before it became soft and over saturated. When you got excited about hearing “ The NBA on NBC” on Saturday’s and Sunday’s. What a time to be alive
You can tell Chuck had slowed down a bit by this point, but this was still his best season thanks to finally having a good team around him. His career was wasted in Philly.
@@milesalexandre nah...he was more efficient he could do things in his mvp year that he never did in philly he was a better passer had a better shot and he could hit 3s he was just more athletic in philly NOT better....difference
I know his 44 and 24 performance in game 7 was legendary, even he says it was his best game, but I personally think he was even more impressive in this game..43/15/10 amazing
Charles was a straight killa before the back injury he could do it all his game was underrated and let's not forget he was 6'4 dude could play rebound shoot it handle the rock taste it end to end and get buckets
Damn I loved Charles Barkley during his tenure with the SUNS. Such an incredible post up game that was so awesome to watch. The way he would face up and take it to the rack or square up for a jump shot!! Not to mention he looked like a beast wearing those Nike Air FORCE MAX's!!
And this wasn't even a prime Barkley. Barkley in his prime was with the Sixers. This version of Barkley is the same version of Jordan when he came back from retirement in 95. This is the smarter more efficient Barkley. The Barkley of the Sixers days would have beaten Seattle by himself!
Sir Charles was one of the freaks of the game...6’5”, 260lbs power forward with strength, quickness, skill level and athletic ability. Just a beast. Along with Wilt, Magic, Shaq, Dirk, Durant and LeBron, these are players who possessed unique size and abilities at their positions in the history of the NBA.
90's basketball is the most beautiful of any era... a perfect balance between what came before it, and the high scoring shoot outs we witness nightly nowadays
"High scoring shoot out nowadays" You niggas never see the pace and the score in the 80's. They scored 10-15 more point per game than nowadays in the 80's and as much in the 60's. No man it's just a cycle fast pace and high scoring (60's, 80's and 10's) and low pace and low scoring (40-50's, 70's, 90's and 00's) stop saying BS. MJ also play in tge 80's with high scoring games
Naw prime barkley would've dominated them like he did Robinson,Hakeem, Ewing. Barkley was beast. 6'4" maybe. Lead the league in scoring an rebounding. Naw they cant fuck wit him.
Thanks for uploading this video in such fine quality! Charles Barkley put on a masterpiece in this one! ☝🏾 It took me 28 years to fully understand that Sir Charles Barkley is one of the very, very best! 👑
@@Ultimatum009 6 foot 4 and 5/8 inches according to SI magazine when they measured him.. Dr. J was legit 6'6" and I am 6'2" and stood right in front of them standing side by side and shook their hands.. Barkley was clearly shorter than the DOC and Barkley didn't seem that much taller than me compared to Julius.
And this was actually Sir Charles on his way out of his prime. The 76ers Chuck was a bad mf, its only in Phoenix he got a team that helped him take things to another level. Too bad Bulls and No. 23 dominated the 90's
Agreed!! If only he took care of his body consistently he’d have a ring I believe. Early years barkley with this team woulda won a ring. I believe that.
Wh else at 6'6 w/his PROFICIENT game in the post? Could rebound like him? Could hit the 3 & score ANYWHERE on the floor. Could handle the basketball, pass. One of the GREATEST players of all time. Think he's a top 3 PF of all time. He's my Fav!
Barkley so underrated man. Folks like Stephen A. "try" to give him his credit by saying he is top 50. I think from an individual player standpoint Barkley is like top 30 all time.
he is already slower than his Sixers self here..the man has a 10 year stretch with 25ppg on .60+ fg(15 to 17 fga) 12 and 4..every 30 ppg player's season average used 22 to 23 fga to get there..one can actually say very accurately that Charles is the most efficient and versatile volume scorer for a 10 year stretch in the NBA 1980 forward PERIOD...
For anyone who believes that Draymond could do this do me a favor go look in the mirror & smack your selves this man is an all time great I can only imagine the numbers he would put up in this weak era
Draymond cannot hold a candle to Charles Barkley, but this ere is not "weak." This is the strongest era of NBA basketball EVER. Today's G-League is FULL of players who would be important NBA starters back then. Oliver Miller would have to play in China today, yet he was a MAJOR player on this team that competed for the championship back then.
See, this is what pissed me off about Shaq with the "no ring crap" towards Chuck. Charles Barkley was A GREAT player and I hope you youngsters watch more of this. Just because you don't win a ring doesn't mean you're not a champion as a player! PLENTY of great players that never won rings just as there are plenty of average to below average players who won rings. It's a circumstance, situational deal. Right team, coach, chemistry, opponent, era, etc. Barkley played in the Jordan era and he still took Phoenix to the finals a couple times. STOP disrespecting Charles. GREAT player!
dont call it the jordan era.....its called the bulls era....the bulls were basically the warriors of their time.....great coach, great role players built around jordan and then they added rodman
Great passer, incredible rebounder, unstoppable in the post, underrated defender, a killer on the break and lights out when he gets hot... Gets destroyed because he didn't win a ring despite going head to head with the GOAT and having no one else on his team who can create their own shot other than Cedric ceballos
Ima say this before a lot of comments Charles Barkley was like lebron of the 90s dude could pass shoot score rebound he was versatile even as a Power forward if he would of had a team like Jordan did easily would gotten rings too he was in my opinion from 88 to 95 was the second best in the league besides Jordan
100% agree. Even though Jordan created the competitive team the bulls had. If you magically swapped them after the fact, Barkley would have won some rings maybe not all the rings Jordan did but some.
