I feel like you forgot one really important piece of tidbit: Tates Mom. She fought through out the rest of her life keeping these pyschos in prison by going to EACH of their parole hearings and testifying against them. She also helped passed a bill which allowed family and friends of murder victims to speak out in court to this day. He was originally given the death penalty but later on in the coming years LA ruled out and did away with the death penalty. His sentence got reduced to Life in prison. He tried to make parol 9 times and got rejected each time. Thankfully he’s finally dead, may his victims continue to Rest In Peace.

Death penalty is an easy very out anyway. Theres many serial k*llers who tried to play the system loop holes to get lethal (peacful/painless) injection. They didn't want to slowly die trapped inside a building lol

Charles Manson had three sons one of which committed suicide because he couldn't handle what his father did. Another son took on the name of his adopted father and the third child it's unknown what happened to him..

My mother, who lived in California at the time of the murders, she would've loved to have known that Charles Manson finally died. She was once chosen to be part of Manson's jury. She didn't do it.

Terry Glenn of the New England Patriots and Dallas Cowboys died yesterday. He was a childhood hero of mine. He was very inspirational to me and was a phenomenal athlete. He's who got me into football. Even though he hasn't played in a decade always I look for any excuse to bring him up when talking football. Really hoped and believed i'd meet him someday.

He had an extremely awful childhood too. He was more or less raised in the prison system and was repeatedly sodomized as a child. His mother was also a prostitute that traded her son for a pint of booze. None of this excuses his absolutely horrendous acts but it runs deeper then just being a failed rock star.

Manson did get the death penalty, but California did away with the death penalty the next year. I can't even look at Manson's picture, let alone hear him talk.

I don't understand how anyone could listen to him. The man spoke in non-sensible patterns and spewed actual insanity. Listening to videos of him speak made me angrier than listening to Trump try and out speak an iPhone predictive sentence. his followers were probably abused, abandoned, and lost. they probably came from an impoverished home life where their parental figures were poor and uneducated, or at least inattentive. they probably spoke and thought at the same level manson did and understood things in simple, folksy, and misguided ways. their concept of the world was probably greatly underdeveloped. they had weak minds and felt vulnerable when they finally escaped that dreary home setting. but they didn't know what a good environment was, so they probably found themselves drifting back to situations that felt familiar - drugs, arguing, violence. then suddenly this super confident guy comes along and tells them he can take care of them and take them someplace they belonged if they followed his instructions

Another crazy aspect of this whole thing is that the current season of AHS has Manson's story as part of it. There was some other show or program or whatever that focused on Manson, I just can't think of it right now. Both shows are recent, but prior to his death. There is some weird Manson synchronicity in the media this year like all these people knew what was about to happen. Creepy to say the least.

They did give Charles Manson the death penalty, i think. But then the law changed. And all the Manson gang's sentences were commuted to life in prison. Also, a few years ago, it was discovered that he did have a son. Some poor soul did a DNA test and discovered his dad was Charles Manson.

Manson and the other four murderers did get the death penalty, but Cal. overruled it as being unconstitutional, so they all got life instead. all those vids are of his parole hearings.

According to Wikipedia, he gave the Beach Boys the rights for "Cease to Exist" (the song "Never Learn Not to Love" is based on) for cash and a BSA Motorcycle. So, it's safe to say the song wasn't his to claim. Also, he wrote the song specifically for them to record.

Honestly I can't say that Manson was altogether wrong that there was "room" for a race war. He saw there was a real divide in the country, and hell, it was the 1960s and the battle for civil rights and equality was still going strong. I don't know if he knew how to trigger that kind of event almost singlehandedly though, because that's no small task.

ahiai barnes I never said it would be good, I just mean I don't think he was wrong in predicting such a thing. If you look at that time period, there was a serious divide between the races due to segregation, Jim Crow, and all kinds of other things that were separating them. Tensions were clearly high (and to some degree they still are) and it's not like it would have been impossible for it to escalate.
