If you are in LA and enjoy tours, Scott provides the most thorough tour with the most factual detail. Plus he's just a facinating guy to talk to and learn from. You'll never forget the experience.

Best vlog! I have done Scott's tours 3 times. On the 2nd tour his Hearse had a tire blow out close too OJ's house. He gave me and my friend a private tour the next day and on that tour he got the fireplace bricks from the Tate house. His tours are great and I suggest that when in LA your vlogers check him out. Many thanks, Dell

I remember when I was introduced to “crazy Charlie “ back in the Haight Ashbury in San Francisco. It was In front of the Straight Theatre. He was a very small guy. He asked my “sign”. I told him I was a Scorpio. He said “so am I! I was born November 12th.” I freaked but didn’t tell him that too was my birthday. What a bummer 😟

I was living with Frank Zappa at the house you filmed during the Manson murders. Gail hired a gigantic bodyguard to stay with us for several days. I filled the dining room bay window with all of Moons stuffed animals, and we left the radio blaring all night, with the lights on. If anyone just stood there staring, they'd KNOW it was nothing. So lame! But it was better than Gail Moon and Janet & me stuffing ourselves into the car and driving to LasVegas, which was what Gail WANTED to do. Frank was in Montreal, and told her to just calm down,hire the bodyguard, and go to bed. Then the LaBiancas were murdered. We stayed in the house, kept the bodyguard, and ate pancakes. Not lyin'...people were scared.

Did everyone sit around and talk about how Charlie Manson was doing, like all the other people in Laurel Canyon at that time? I mean, he was so well known. Used to turn up at Elen Naomi Cohen's (AKA Mama Cass Eliot) house with the skanks and droogies, and everyone knew them. Maybe Frank's house too. What collective amnesia there was after the murders amongst the duplicitous celebrities. Those still alive still know nothing. Amazing.

In 1997 I was on a private tour of Corcoran State Prison in California and stood in Charles Manson's cell in a high security area called The Shu - Charlie wasn't home that day because he was locked up in solitary confinement for possession of drugs. Sirhan Sirhan - the man who shot Robert Kennedy was in the cell next door.

I visited this museum in August 2019, on the 50th anniversary weekend of the Tate-LaBianca murders. Great place, great guy, great tour. I understand that the museum has now closed, sad to say, it was a very interesting place to visit and they had a ton of great books for sale. I even purchased a bit of fireplace stone from the Sharon Tate living room here! Hopefully Scott will choose to reopen someday.

In 1992 I drove up Goler Wash, a remote and rough 4wd road just southwest of the southern end of Death Valley N.P. and found the old ranch buildings used as a hideout by Manson and followers right after the Tate-Labianca murders. When I arrived, there wasn't much to see but an old cabin with windows and a shed, both in semi-decent condition with a hand painted 'keep out' sign. The sun baked body shell of an ancient volkswagen beetle resting on the ground, all other parts removed, marked the beginning of the trail off the main road, just a very short hike from there to the ranch. In a ravine behind the cabin was a sizable dumping ground full of rusty junk and tin cans that looked at least many decades old. According to the Helter Skelter book, this ranch cabin had a bathroom. Inside a cabinet under the bathroom sink is where Manson was found hiding and was arrested along with the others.

I agree with everything you said, the museum is amazing, as well as the tour. I was actually a bit gutted to find out that Zappa was buried at the same cemetery as Marilyn and it hadn't been pointed out on the wee map. I think the place is so full of celebs they can list them all!
@DazewithJordantheLion
@DazewithJordantheLion 6 лет назад
+coopersweetie i tjink that is because frank zappa, as well as roy orbison are in unmarked graves.. you have to look online to find descriptions of where they are buried. I think it's a privacy thing, since there wasn't a headstone the families wanted places
@coopersweetie
@coopersweetie 6 лет назад
Daze with Jordan the Lion Aw that makes sense, I can imagine Zappa's family wanting his grave to remain private. Just makes me wonder if I walked past it hehe. Love Roy too but again if it were my family member I would probably feel the same. Enjoy your trip when it comes :)

When I worked as a Letter Carrier in downtown Los Angeles, I would stop at a small cafeteria on Main Street everyday for coffee. Later, during the Manson trial, the MANSON GIRLS would gather there before walking up to the Courthouse. I would always sit at the counter and then one day the MANSON GIRLS made their first appearance there, and would sit at the counter beside me talking and laughing. This was in the days before they were arrested for killing Sharon Tate and her friends. The girls never mentioned they were involved in the murders but talked about other things. A few weeks later, they weren't there, and I read that they had been apprehended for those murders.

Jordan, my parents lived in Cedar Rapids at the time of the Tate/Labianca murders. They NEVER locked the doors to their homes before the murders, after, doors/windows were locked. Everyone also bought a gun and a large dog. My Dad refused to talk about the case at all! He never said why. Maybe it was because he traveled to LA on business. (He was a insurance sales man). Back then Dad sold door to door and life insurance was more of a personal deal, than it is now, lol! I would like to tell you about that some time. It was totally different back then. I was 3 when the murders happened. By the time the trial came around I have vague memories of it being on the news. The whole Manson ordeal changed not just LA, but it affected all of America, and probably the world! Jill Gross

I did not know that he passed away. Thank you. Scott's key "fobs" from famous hotels are truly neat. I would HAVE TO buy one if I was there (and if they were for sale.) The two of you working together aggregates the best of both talents. Thank you both. My family was on an out west trip shortly after Bugliosi's book came out. Both my sister and I were reading the book (simultaneously, yes 2 copies,) during the long drives. We coincidentally happened to be IN L.A., and my fuddy duddy father was actually excited to drive to two sites that WE came up with. (Did he know what we were seeing....?) There we were, unobstructed, looking at the two homes. Of course at Ciello Drive, we could only see the gate and gate button -- but it was exactly the same as the photo in the book of the gate button with the BLOOD still on it (which was smudged and compromised by an idiot police officer, when forensics weren't yet regularly implemented.) And today, the gate and button still look the same.
