I think free agency ruined the sports we new (not that sports are objectively bad now...just that it's not what it used to be). The first time I saw Joe Montana, Jerry Rice, and Ronnie Lott in non-49er uniforms, it started going downhill for me. Players used to be invested in their teams. Now, their only investment is to the money. The current way is possibly better for the players' bank account, but I do miss those good ole days when a player was drafted by a team, and played for that team until retirement. 😪

10:00... anyone from Chicago knows that. Zeke was a St. Joseph's star. Legend in Chicago. His dream was to lift Chicago. But he was in Detroit, and in Chicago came this guy named Jordan. And close to that time, came the 86 Super Bowl with the Bears. Always thought he was a little salty about Jordan being the face of Chicago instead of the kid that did all he did at St. Joseph's. For the trade from the Bulls... Jordan was pissed about that, I remember like it was yesterday. The Bulls liked what they saw with a young Horace Grant but knew they needed a more dominant center for the triangle offense. So they traded Oak for Cartwright, Grant went into the lineup in his place and did really well.

I witnessed Charles Oakleys protective Jordan nature in Minnesota at a club! I was there with Usher (He was Performing there that night, 2005 ish) and Jordan, Ron Harper and Oak came in and was passing us & I had my video camera (I took it everywhere with me as not to miss a moment. It goes fast) and he pushed me out the way ( not a shove or nuthin' more like some look out lil dude type push lol) then he told me not to film MJ & I didn't at the time. but later when him and Ush were takin' pics it was all good! Cigars and champagne in their section.

I too was in a room with MJ while smoking a cigar (summer after they beat SEATTLE), cameras flashing, chatter going, "MJ.....MJ....MJ....MJ"

Oaktree! I've watched the Jordan Era in real time. Oaktree was more than an enforcer. Yes it was his claim to fame but he had great basketball IQ, a nice jump shot, good defender & a good rebounder. In 2k he would have the HOF Intimidator badge 😄

Charles was 109% correct when speaking about why they never won a championship with having Ewing as their go to player on the team. He could never deliver the points they needed when it came to the playoffs. I was a Ewing fan for years, especially since he is a fellow yardie.🇯🇲

@Maurice Ray i disagree that the Knicks were better. the knicks had a bunch of dawgs on their team. U don’t need many of those. At some point you need a team that can play basketball; and that’s exactly what the Rockets were.
