This scene is especially even more touching if y'all remember Wolvering first going from "what do they call you, wheels?" to "it's good to see u, Charles".

I always loved that Charles respects people enough to not read their minds without permission he could have easily saw what Logan remembers last but decided not to

Imagine being Charles and occasionally wondering when this will happen for decades, only to have to have it explained to you when it happens.

Some may not like the corny "and then everyone lived happily ever after" ending. But this was my fav movie ending ever

I really wish they used this ending as a proper reboot for the franchise.

I was today years old when I realized how much sense it makes for Logan to be teaching history.

Patrick Steward and Hugh Jackman are literally Charles and Wolverine. No one else comes close

This moment w/ James and Charles always hit me in the feels. He had always been a loner, never knowing what it felt like to belong or to love and be loved. It's at this moment that James finally let the fact he missed his family and was so unbelievably thankful to have them all back, show. And is a testament to the real complexity of his emotions despite all of the trauma in his long life.

The "welcome back" phrase tone and timing , elegant goosebumps

Man the X-Men movies were fantastic. Certainly not without flaws, but with an all-star cast like they had so much heart and soul and talent. This "Welcome back" alone tells you so much more than just the simple meaning of the two words. It tells you about the longing of a man who has waited such a long time for the return of his dear old friend.

What's actually kind of creepy about this is that the Logan that existed before the time traveling Logan showed back up just winked out of existence. Like imagine that happened to any of us. One moment you're just existing, the next moment, your entire conscience is overridden and deleted by a time traveling version of yourself. That's kind of fucked up.

The look of happiness on Charles’s face is so wholesome. He made a steady friendship with a different man, always expecting him to change suddenly to the man he once knew. Then, when Logan comes back, he’s unprepared, and caught off guard, but in the sense of an active duty soldier coming home from the war, not knowing if they were alive. It’s just so beautiful

The funniest part: Stryker's eyes flashing (showing he is Mystique) is never mentioned again because the film makers literally forgot about it. That's why Logan as being part of Weapon X in the next movie makes no sense.

The perfect ending to the X-Men movies. The whole gang is back, even Cyclops- and Logan teaching history. I mean, he lived a chunk of it, so of course he would. I dearly wish this had been the blueprint to go on further, and maybe the MCU can get to this cozy and solid storytelling.

Days of Future Past is by far the best movie of the whole X-Men collection. All the actors/actresses involved are simply terrific, McAvoy in his painful portrait of young Xavier was Academy Award material in my opinion

Erik should’ve been there too, especially in light of his “all those years wasted fighting each other, Charles. To get a precious few of them back.” To have him there would’ve been been a perfect wrap on the franchise for me. He and Charles could spend the rest of their days as mutant brothers at the mansion teaching and training the new wave.

The warmth Logan greets Charles with hits in the feels. Took a long time for him to find someone he could trust let a alone a family..

2000: "What do you they call you? Wheels? 2014/2023: "Its good to see you Charles. It's good to see everyone."

This hits harder after watching Deadpool 3

Imagine being Charles and expecting this to happen for decades. And occasionally thinking it happened when Logan would say something strange and having this cool “welcome back”, line waiting, but then Logan being like “what are you talking about? I never went anywhere?”, and charles being flustered and having to be like “Oh nevermind”

I would loved to see a whole movie of Charles and Logan just chatting in his office about main events, and they could cut to telling those stories with the actors involved. Could be such a fun way id telling a lot of neat stories in one movie, shortened of course.

Love the way Charles whispers 'Welcome Back', it feels peaceful and goosebumps

This ending is so good and should have been The True Ending Of The X-Men Movies In My Opinion! Absolute Masterpiece!

I love that they had this warm and nostalgic send off for the original Xmen cast.

It's actually pretty fitting that Logan became a history teacher in this timeline. Dude's at least a couple centuries old, so he was probably THERE for a good chunk of the events he teaches to his students.

I wish this was considered the canon ending for this X-Men universe, Logan is also great but is too depressing

I think they will use this ending to make Logan appear in Deadpool 3. In the film, the presence of the TVA is very heavily rumored, possibly arresting Deadpool for his second film's post-credits time travel, and possibly, also arresting Logan for the changes made to days of future past

That's so heartwarming! It's like getting back an old friend.

I like to think that Charles used his knowledge of wolverine’s memories and experiences to influence the universe’s timeline and earths and societies trajectory by whatever means. That kind of retcons certain events they happened in wolverines initial past to happen again, hence the adamantium, everything he had to go through.

The idea that logan could be teaching history and could give a play-by-play of what he did in the civil wars is hilarious

I feel bad that Logan and Charles are the only ones that remember the original chain of events during the time travel Then again it spared everyone the pain of reliving the apocalyptic future of the Sentinels and having our beloved characters dying It would’ve been nice to see what happened to Logan in the last 50 years and how Mystique set a different course of events pretending to be Stryker

One thing I love about Charles Xavier in this scene is that he's the only other person who has any idea what Wolverine has been through! Imagine all that horror, all that trauma, all that pain. He literally spent years watching most of the people he ever cared for die countless brutal deaths, unable to help them even with all his talent and abilities, and waited for the last remaining few to die as well! It was only through a tiny chance of Shadowcat being able to phase through time and him being only one able to make the trip that the nightmare stopped. Though he succeeded and every nightmare he endured has been deleted from time, thar now means he's the ONLY human with all those years of trauma and pain. Even if he talked about it, no one would understand or truly comprehend what he'd seen, experienced, and been through. Except Charles. Charles is the only other human in Wolverine's life he can share that burden with...the only human who would or could share that burden! I think Charles didn't outright read his mind, but he glanced at it to see why he was acting so strange. You can see the color leave his face just seeing a tad of what happened to Wolverine and realizing that the time he's seeing came at a great cost. The only thing he could say about it all was... "Welcome back!"

This is the definitive ending to the X-Men franchise, in my headcanon atleast

I like X-men Apocalypse, despite a lot of the faults they had. And I love Logan's story and heartfelt ending. But if you ask me, this is the true ending for the X-men Franchise.

X men and x men 2 were my absolute favorites and absolute masterpieces.. Didn't think that they could make any future movies as good as those.. Dang!! This one is simply extraordinary.. Went neck and neck with the first 2 films..

I feel like Logan is talking to Patrick Stewart at the beginning of the scene, but when he reveals that he needs help remembering everything after 1973, he's suddenly talking to James McAvoy.

So this is a perfect example of why time travel movies where you change the past are horrifying: What happened to the wolverine that lived in this reality for the last 50 years? The one who became a history teacher, had relationships and friendships, influenced people's lives? Did he just disappear when this wolverine popped back into his body? Did he swap places and end up in the bad future? Same for back to the future, when Marty changes the past and returns to 1985, the people in the new future have lived their entire lives with one Marty only to have him replaced by the Marty we see in the film

Logan was just an alternate ending in my opinion. This is the true ending. Everyone is back and Logan is happy. He may never have said it but the school, Charles, the teachers, the students, the X-Men, they are his family and his home and it's all back

this franchise was a bumpy ride. but the two first movies of the prequels were truly the best superhero movies ever made. marvel came close by bringing the tobey and andrew as well as osborn and doctor octopus in one movie. and the avengers movies were great. but these two movies truly shined.

Such a hopeful ans fullfiling ending! I hope Logan doesn't get poisoned from his Adamantium skeleton, finds out he has a daughtered named Laura, gets killed trying to save her, in return causing a chain reaction that leads to his reality slowly dying with the TVA wanting to erase the timeline, which prompts Deadpool to desecrated the sacred corpse to battle TVA Agents all while listening to Bye Bye Bye, accompanied by finding a Wolverine variant to help him!

The Fox X-men series should have ended here. Didn’t need “Age of Apocalypse” or “Logan”. The cast of characters deserved that happy ending.

The one thing about this ending that gets me is did he actually not know until Logan was acting weird then read his mind or does he actually remember from the alternative time line.

I think about the moment the professor remembers about the previous timeline Remember kitty said the only person would Remember would be Logan But professor x is telepathic so he could read his mind and also remember through wolverine That’s how I think he remembered

I believe that this is the Wolverine in Deadpool 3, because Logan changed time drastically and he’s the only one who remembers the previous timeline, what if the TVA did not like that so they pruned the whole world because of it, because the changes were so drastic, that what if the Sentinels were supposed to kill everybody

So is this a parallel reality or did the other souls just get overwritten and are basically dead anyways? With Logan being the only one who remembers the original future overwriting his old self who is basically dead now I guess

Funny how in this timeline Logan starts going grey at the temples. Contentedness allows him to be happy with aging and living instead of simply surviving

It really makes me wonder what all changed in the timeline. Obviously the first 3 movies didn’t happen, or at least the second and third ones didn’t because everyone is still alive. Did Magneto reform? What happens to the Logan that lived this timeline until the old Logan takes over his mind? Do these versions of Charles, Erik and Hank remember what Logan told them back in the 70s or is this new timeline not connected to the timeline happening in that series? Would Logan have to explain the old timeline to the rest of the x-men and have everyone keep an eye on Mystique so the government doesn’t get the idea to make the sentinels again?
