It’s not just the community, you got well off kids tryna make it out the suburbs into the streets, and Ja morant getting bare negative media attention cause of his off court antics, despite coming from a respectable upbringing. The glamorization of thugs and low life’s is sad and is why you got guys like Ben Shapiro saying it’s in black culture to be like that when race isn’t a factor, I know Black, Arab, Asian, Hispanic, white and native guys who all are about that life…
@mharris4264
@mharris4264 Год назад
I've come to the realization that Gang culture isn't the thing being glamorize or even sold. It's really this hyper masculine, super wealthy, untouchable persona. That's why most of the people that buy the music and go to the concerts are not gangsters themselves. Being a gangster isn't easy but people that fall into that life think rapping (also not easy) is the only exit. It will continue to look like an exit as long as the people the labels wanna buy them and the people wanna go the the concert (where the real/most money is made for an artist).

@@pothead2194 probably so. It seemed as though he has a huge heart. When he got with death row and then eventually chose a side. That's when he started living the lifestyle full force sadly. I seen where they said he couldn't fight worth a damn, but he was ALWAYS the first to swing. I guess cuz he knew his homies had his back, but he was much bigger than this persona he portrayed in his death row days. He had so much more to offer. Just listen to his lyrics of songs that came after. He just got caught up sadly and lost his life because of it. I would LOVE hear the music and message he put out if he would have survived it. It's kind of a 50/50 though.. he would have either gotten more hard core because he thought he was invincible or he would have got back on his positive tip! I would hope the latter .

This is a big thing that definitely needs to be talked about. It has caused countless people of all races to fall trying to be something they didn't need to be including me as a white boy who had no business being in the hood trying to be a big boy drug dealer. Now I'm on methadone and barely escape prison. I wish everyday I could turn back the hands of time and just been myself. I could of been a doctor or even greater. Now I'm on the road to real struggle and homelessness.

I feel your pain. I am the oldest of my siblings but my sister already has a career and an education. Everybody else in my family is successful and was already building a life by the time they were 18. But I started using drugs at a young age, now I'm 24 and after finally getting off the hard drugs and booze it feels like I'm just now actually starting in life. It's almost like I still have the mind and emotional control of a 16 year old because I never mentally aged after I started using. All my peers are hitting the best part of their lives while I have to reassemble the wreckage and hope I can catch up. Stay strong friend

@@HunterBidensHandgun I feel you bro. I’m a 22 year old Writing this from rehab, dead broke, and dropped out for the semester to be here.
@glassonglass6347
@glassonglass6347 Год назад
@Yvng Sway Actually you sound like you're on the right path then. If you took a semester off to go to rehab then that's a good thing trust me. I've been there. If you didn't take that semester off to go to rehab then you would've just stayed in school and stayed using until the drugs either got you a case,or worse. It's better to take a step back from the world, go to rehab and pull yourself back together, and get yourself back to 100%. Then go back to school when you're clean and healthy. You'll be in a better state of mind, so going to class everyday will be easier and you'll probably do alot better with grades. U didn't completely crash the train ,you just got off track a bit. And if you're still in school man then you must be young. You're only this age once,when you're 50 those college years will seem like a blur. But those years can make or break your life. You can turn left and keep on doing dope and live a life of drugs,poverty, and struggle. Or you can take the right turn, finish rehab,go back to school, graduate,and get a good paying career that will finance an easy and comfortable life. I'm 35, got hooked on pain pills at 18 while working a warehouse job. My addiction had me doing crimes which led to a federal case at the age of 19. So I spent years 19,20,22 in a federal prison. Got out and instantly had a kid. No college for me. Then the felony made it hard to find work. Just hard labor or warehouse jobs with low pay. Breaking my back 60 hours a week just to barely make ends meet. The drugs are a curse man. A curse of poverty,depression,and misery. And there's always that voice trying to suck you back in. Make the right decision, this is the point in your life that decides how the rest of your life will play out. You can't ever see it when you're in it and while it's happening,but you're in it and it's happening to you right now. You're just in rehab going through a rough patch and being broke makes it worse. Just roll with the punches and make it through. It's better to be broke in rehab right now just for a small period of time, instead of being broke and living a life of misery for the rest of you're life. Just remember no matter how bad the situation is, It's Only Temporary. You'll eventually leave rehab. And you'll go back to school. Just roll with the punches. Remember, you can either be broke and be on drugs forever, or you can be a rich college graduate that drives a nice car and has a hot wife. Good luck man and I wish you luck

I think everyone in the hood has at least sold a few bags to some buddies. I don't know any white kid in my small town that didn't sell a few bags of weed at least. Doesn't make them drug dealers. It was always the kids that didn't give a fuck about being on probation that sold drugs
