It's called evangelism. Sin has always been here since the beginning. The issue is that the age of technology makes sin exponentially worse than it was (more tempting). There is more access on the internet to things that were at least hidden from children, e.g. porn violent movies violent video games, etc. No one writes anymore. With writing, you took time to create, puncuate, use proper grammer and think about whether or not you want to send something you'd regret later. Now, we can just text in the heat of the moment and cannot take back anything negative in the heat of the moment. My point is if having access to books and technology (internet) with loads of literature regarding God hasn't changed the majority of people, then how are more "preachers" on the streets going to help lead people to God? There are still Bible teaching preachers out there. They are hard to find but they are there. I encourage you to read your Bible and visit churches until you find a church that teaches expositionaly. When you study Gods word expositionaly there is no skipping subjects or teachings that clash with society. A loving preachers will give you His word and all of it in love.

First of all the church is not the building. The people are the church. The building is the sanctuary. And preachers are not obsolete. Those are just false preacher's.
