I work at a Whataburger in Arizona and Charley comes in quite oftenly and I always sing him this song when he walks in he smiles so big and he says " Thank you Hunter", hes honestly the funniest man you will ever meet and he always gets a small vanilla shake when he comes in nothing else. I always look in the front when I am working hoping to see him once again and I get so excited everytime he walks in, I am sadly the only one who knows who Mr. Pride is and even most customers dont recognize the legendary singer among them. Long live Charley Pride!!!
Among the best voices in a huge sea of great talent. RIP Charley Pride. My Mom and Dad were huge fans. They’ll be in the front row of your first celestial concert
Oh, maybe he passed through San Antone on the way to God. I LOVED CHARLEY since I was 7. I have two-stepped to this song so many times. Beautiful voice. 😔😭😭😭😭😭😭😭🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🙏🏻🙏🏻
Bless you! We will celebrate 43 years of marriage this July. My husband is my rock and strength, he reflects God's love back to me daily. Our youngest son was headed home from college and had a head-on collision, ten years ago, and suffered a severe traumatic brain injury. He hasn't spoken a word or had purposeful movement until last month, when he suddenly said Mom!
a Black man trying to make it in Country music in the 1960's... that takes guts and fortitude...it also took vision for him to understand hs vocal style was better for country than pop or R & B... no one can say he did not deserve every thing he earned.
You Are 💯 Right I read that charlie had to walk 4 miles to school because he couldn't ride the bus with the white kids he said the bus pass right by him As he walked to school I started crying when I read that how said so many bad things happen back them but we got to love those that do is harm thanks Charlie for the great music you left us is Rip.

R.I.P. Charley Pride. As a kid growing up in Sunny Southern California in the 60’s & 70’s, nearly all of my friends, cousins and siblings were listening to Rock music, i.e. Led Zeppelin, The Who, The Rolling Stones and of course the Beatles. My parents were HUGE fans of Country Western music, and adored Charley Pride, which totally rubbed off onto me. My very first concert was circa 1971-1972 in Anaheim, California at the Anaheim Convention Center with my parents and yes it was Charley Pride. After that first concert, I’ve proudly seen Charley perform at least 25 more times, and to this very day, in my opinion, he was by far and away the greatest male Country Western vocalist of all time..period, it’s not even close. God rest your soul Charley, and may he bring comfort to your grieving family.
It goes to show again, that music is an International Language of Love, Hope and Dreams...even Heartbreak and Heartaches...no matter what part of the World we live in. Music is so International, and Charlie gave us so much pride and joy in hearing his melodious voice and songs. RIP, Charlie.
One of my all time faves! My mom went to a catholic school in Detroit & my dad in rural MI. So I grew up with old country & Motown. Those were the days! ❤️
Man i hope you become a new black country music star one day and make Charley Pride proud. Pack your bags and go to Nashville bro, what are you waiting for? :)
Sleeping under a table at a roadside park a man could wake up dead But it sure seems warmer than it did, sleeping in our King size bed. ~ Love that line! What a great great song!

RIP MR. PRIDE I will never forget the time I was 12 and got to go backstage and meet you and you embarrassed me by asking if I was married and I would not even look at you anymore ahhh good times and much love!
I never cared too much for country music growing up. But I always liked Charlie Pride. Loved the sound of his voice. Heaven is now better with him in it.
I met Charlie Pride in the Springfield, MO Airport after watching him perform in Branson. A very nice man! RIP and thank you for the many years of great music.
Hello!!! How are you doing today, please pardon me for intruding into your privacy but I just wanted to know if you’re a fan ? Have a great day… Stay Safe!
I was Blessed to see Mr Pride several times as he would fly out of DFW INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT and he was always SO GRACIOUS he surprised my wife and I with a cassette of him singing You've Got to Kiss An Angel Good Morning. He said he was sorry he would be in Nashville on our Wedding day so play this after we said our vows .
I grew up in clarksdale Ms, his brother worked at Fred's, I have been lucky enough to have saw him 5 times, one concert my grandmother sat next to his wife, she is a loving and strong woman, they struck up a conversation, my granny didn't realize who she was talking to, turns out they knew some of the same people from way back, after the show was over, Mr Pride spoke with my granny, I t was the highlight of her life, he was such a good person, heaven is a richer place today because he is there, God bless Rozinne, we loved y'all all, 😧
Grew up listening to pride on my dad's 8 track player in the car and on the radio back in the seventies when they played the greatest country music with all the greats there will never be another era like that simpler times of a time almost forgotten honky tonk bars and dance floors where hearts were broken and love was found driving your date in daddy's old pickup truck may your music live on in the hearts of America and may you rest eternally with our creator love you Charlie pride thanks for the memories
I saw him at a small arena in Coldwater, Ontario about 1990. The place was packed with fans that knew every word to every song. I really enjoyed the show and have been a fan ever since.
We are loosing the greatest people ever known to country music these days. Thay will be missed deeply. Country music will never be the same from now on. God bless them all. Rest in peace my musical. Friends. Your music will never stop inspiring me and my soul will aways rejoyce in those old time melllodee's.
Remember the good old days when the stars sounded every bit as good as their albums did? That is Charley Pride. No studio tricks, no smoke and mirrors just an amazing singer, singing an amazing song! I sure miss those days. And I sure love Charley Pride.

@@Cindy-ht7kx Hey! I hope you're having a very wonderful day so far, this is one of my favourite song of all time! If I may ask where are you from? Have a great day... Stay Safe
I'm adopted and my dad used to tell me that Charley was my real dad. This was before the world went crazy and it was meant with love. We loved Charley Pride!
It’s a shame that our self pride did not let enjoy this great legend.. In Oklahoma every labor they had a Choctaw Pow Wow in southeastern Oklahoma, more specific Tuskahoma. They had off duty law enforcement working security along with Tribal Officer.. I got to work right in front of the stage when Charlie Pride came on.. It was magic. He had such smooth voice and I was hooked.. Then a few years later I got to see him again in Durant at the Choctaw Casino.. There were women in the audience holding up records from Charlie’s early hits.. When he introduced the band he had it down to the minutes even seconds how long each band member been with him. My Brother said he’s been performing over an hour and hadn’t take but a few sips of water.. And he done all the great country stars imitating each one almost perfect.. That night he put on one hell of a show.. He told of his troubles trying to make gigs and one guy wouldn’t let him use his band because they sounded better with him. He even had trouble with touring buses having trouble getting from place to place.. But that didn’t stop Charlie he continued to entertain many adoring fans.. Rest In Peace Charlie you made history.. Heaven needed another first tier lead singer. I met my wife at one of his concerts. We didn’t last but we have two beautiful daughters today because of Charlie Pride.
Saw Mr Charlie Pride at the Palamino Club in North Hollywood 1978... One of best who ever sung Country n Western.. RIP Charlie...it sure gotten colder since you left us
I loved Charlie Pride. I went to one of his concerts when he came to Halifax and it was such an enjoyable time. I wanted to get up and dance. I am an avid square dancer. There were so many times, I enjoyed dancing to a tune and I would go home and look up the tune on RU-vid and the majority of times, it was made popular by Charlie Pride.
Charlie you may never have known how loved you were. I loved your music so much, and loved how you kept your self so humble. Thank you CHARLIE YOUR MISSED ALREADY.
I loved singing that song with my partner. He played baseball in Missoula close to where I grew up. Say hi to my brother Charley, he just got there about a year ago.
