Exactly, and the fact he corrected his attorney on the date of a piece of evidence further corroborates this. When questioned by his attorney he never once says he cannot remember. In fact his attorney kept saying that as it was years ago he didn't expect Charlie to remember certain things. But the arrogant show off couldn't help himself. Amazing how not one recording actually has him mention the “initial extortion/blackmail scheme” … I hope the jury sees through it. Ironically, I think if the defense atty & Charlie only talked for an hour, and then said “every other call was along these lines, as based on the extortion”, I would have been more likely to give him the benefit of the doubt. But as they continue talking, Charlie becomes more & more unbelievable. And Georgia or her prosecution partner will tear him up tomorrow. He’ll stay the course, but it’s not going to be pretty.

He worked 20 years longer than he thought he would bc that fancy condo in the Icon Miami Beach wouldn’t be affordable if he didn’t. He was only a dentist, and only taking home a dentist’s salary after paying the salaries & benefits of 4 other people, plus insane rent & insurance & other expenses. Most dentists who run a whole business themselves don’t take home that much, and they CERTAINLY don’t take home $300k-$800k like Charlie who has no staff, no rent, and was a surgeon.

They also got paid in cash where possible (no taxes) as regards Charlie, I believe he was up to dealing in more than tooth implants! Charlie also had other properties. Lincoln and Ben are currently 14 and 13 respectively. They've already been raised by Donna for the past 10 years since Dan died (they attended school literally within 50meters from Donna's building. There will have been a lot of brain washing going on over all those years. There is nothing preventing two young teens from seeking authorities themselves to get out of the Adelsons' "care" or minimally, they could themselves encourage spending time now with their Dad's parents. I don't know why these things haven't yet happened at their ages. As a side note, Wendi literally gave birth to two children for Donna to raise. I don't hold out much hope for the Markel family having some great reunion with those two boys. I wish I was wrong but if it's not happening nowadays when teens have their own opinions and views - it's tragic.

They offered him a million dollars for him to relocate to Miami as well, and that would have covered his travel expenses to and from Tallahassee for when he needed to go into the office

Even seasoned attorneys have commented that there are some elements of reasonable doubt, at least so far, we have to wait to see how the prosecution either destroys this narrative or fails to do so. One can't just leap to a conclusion before hearing all the arguments.

He testified, coulda said whatever he wanted. He wasn't sidelined with no ability to dictate how things went. He played a direct role in his own defense so I can't see him even attempting that argument on appeal. That kinda grounds for appeal would only maybe work on a defendent who sat there quietly throughout the entire trial. He on the other hand, did NOT. 😊

She never said she didn't confess because of Charlie, she only said Garcia, because was the only one facing the death penalty. I think there is more to it than that but at least slightly more believable than Charlie's fairytale

She said that she didn't want to give up Sigfredo, because he is her children's father, and to give up Charlie, she would had to have given up them both. There was no way for her to tell the truth about Charlie without implicating Sigfredo.

In regards to your very first sentence, that is exactly what I thought about mid way through Charlie's testimony. I bet the prosecution will mention that fact also. I also thought it would be highly unlikely for a person like Garcia, a thug and a gang member, to go out of his way to plan such an intricate extortion plot. You would think if he really hated Charlie that much, wouldn't he have done something fast and highly emotionalized against Charlie (and not his brother-in-law!), like shoot him or stab him when he is alone somewhere?? After all, it was said by more than one witness that Garcia had a spur-of-the-moment urge while driving his truck to just run over Charlie.

i was exactly the same way. for a moment, a reasonable doubt was kicking in but the more he talked the more he sounds unbelievable… hopefully the jury has the same path of thoughts 💭
