The gorgeous main title opening sequence from Tim Burton's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005). This opening really sets the mood for the movie and lets you know you're in for a treat. Major props go to Danny Elfman for the amazing music he created for this movie.

Good comment! I didn't think this! And we have a proof: Outside the factory the town of charlie is always grey and dark as winter and a depress sad world. But then inside the factory of wonka is a colored, saturated, psychedelism place like tv and fashion around the 60s and 70s fashions right?

@Isaac Shumski The fact that she's able to play two very different characters (as in they're pretty much opposites of each other) is proof that she's a talented actress. Mrs. Bucket and Bellatrix LeStrange are nothing alike, the only thing they have in common is Bonham Carter. Similar to how Johnny Depp can play both Captain Jack Sparrow and Willy Wonka. Sure, they have more in common than Bucket and LeStrange. They're both two goofy and loveable people. But what makes them so is very different. One is a drunken pirate with a savage sense of humor, the other is a sociopathic businessman with a dark sense of humor. In contrast, Count Dooku and Dr. Wonka are both cold. Nothing against Christopher Lee, he's awesome. I'm just using two of his characters as a contrasting example to two Helena Bonham Carter's characters and two of Johnny Depp's characters. Vive Medici!

I saw about 15 minutes of this film, then I saw the 1971 film, then I saw this. All I can say is Burton is so much better it's not even funny. In the original, I don't think the kids really deserved their fates, but more importantly, the parents did not. In the Burton movie, most of them (arguably, all of them) do. Besides, the fizzy drinks scene and part of the ending were so horrible in the 1971 film that Burton's film had the advantage before I've even seen the whole thing.

Jakethedog3275 The original wasnt even the original. The book was the original, a book which the author of literally sat outside movie theaters begging people not to see the "original" Willy Wonka movie. The 2005 adaption actually draws from the book to emphasize the deranged madman that is Willy Wonka and the mystery of his strange chocolate factory far better. The first movie emphasises on more of a childlike glee and excitement, aside from the very bad tunnel scene which was their attempt at emphasising his creepy side.

When I was a young boy, I didn't grow up with Gene Wilder's Willy Wonka. It was Johnny Depp's version instead. Because of this, if one were to ask me which version of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory I prefer, it would be the 2005 version. One reason is the music. I'd honestly prefer Danny Elfman's Oompa Loompa songs over the 1971 Oompa Loompas, because I grew up with them, and I listened to this film's songs many times. So of course I'd be biased. But another reason is this opening score. It's something only Danny Elfman--Jack Skellington himself--could provide. And even after watching 1971's take on the story, I still prefer this sequence overall.
